Mu Yanci smiled, his demeanor as elegant as a gentleman strolling through the streets of 19th-century London. Yet, his words were chilling enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine.
“I’ll make you watch as the company you’ve worked tirelessly for half your life crumbles to dust in my hands.”
“Your past glorious achievements will be tainted by the record of aiding a criminal. Your reputation, your wealth—I’ll destroy them entirely.”
Kuang Hongxuan stared at Mu Yanci in shock, unable to believe that the once composed and respectful junior standing before him was now baring venomous fangs.
Kuang Hongxuan’s face darkened. “Impossible. The Kuang family business is vast. Your branch of the Mu family isn’t even focused on commerce. You can’t destroy the Kuang family unless you’re willing to drag the Mu family down with you.”
Mu Yanci’s smile deepened. “Is that so? What if the Yuan family joins in?”
Kuang Hongxuan: “!!”
Mu Yanci’s voice turned cold. “If I tell the Yuan family that all of Kuang Shuyu’s scandals over the years were covered up by you, don’t you think they’d happily collaborate with me?”
Kuang Hongxuan’s aged, weathered face turned livid with anger. “Mu Yanci, I didn’t know you had such tactics.”
Compared to his father, who was bound by rules and limitations within the system, Mu Yanci’s methods were sharp and ruthless.
Mu Yanci straightened his posture, casting a frosty glance at Kuang Hongxuan. “There’s much you don’t know about me.”
Kuang Ye, who had quietly eavesdropped on the entire conversation, gasped internally. “This brother-in-law is terrifying!”
Then, stepping forward, Kuang Ye added with a mocking tone. “Good thing I cut ties with the Kuang family. Otherwise, your criminal activities would have dragged me down, ruining my future.”
He clicked his tongue. “What a rotten apple, almost spoiling my perfect life soup. Pah, pah, pah.”
Already infuriated by Mu Yanci’s words, Kuang Hongxuan now felt his blood boil at Kuang Ye’s remarks. His vision blurred, and he collapsed from sheer rage.
Kuang Zhongbai and Zhou Yun rushed to call for a doctor.
Mu Yanci glanced at Kuang Ye.
Kuang Ye blinked in confusion.
Mu Yanci patted him on the shoulder. “Once the old man goes to prison, make sure to visit him often.”
Kuang Ye: “???”
As an avid internet user, Kuang Ye failed to catch Mu Yanci’s metaphor.
Mu Yanci smiled. “You can add a little magical attack to spice up his boring prison life.”
Kuang Ye: “…” Thanks for the compliment!

Since the butler confessed to following Kuang Hongxuan’s orders, the evidence against him was undeniable. While Kuang Hongxuan refused to admit to aiding Zhao Yao’s escape, the facts were clear, and the proof was irrefutable.
Mu Jianhua, however, knew that with Kuang Hongxuan’s age and past contributions, plus the fact that his actions hadn’t caused severe consequences in this timeline, he’d likely be granted bail.
“No way. My Wan wan died because of him. That scum doesn’t deserve to walk free.”
“I’ll interrogate every accountant who’s worked for Kuang Group. I refuse to believe there isn’t a single lead.”
Three million. It wasn’t a mere three dollars. Even with lax auditing practices back then, there had to be some trail left behind.
At the Mu family villa, despite catching the culprit, Mu Jianhua still felt no peace of mind. “I must see that old scumbag locked away to feel satisfied.”
Mu Yanci reassured him, “I’ve already sent people to investigate.”
Taking down Kuang Group and ensuring Kuang Hongxuan’s imprisonment had become the Mu family’s top priority.
Wang Lan stormed into the house with the butler, both fuming with anger. She cursed loudly. “Harming my Wan wan and thinking an apology with some cheap gifts can make amends? Dream on!”
Mu Wan walked over and gently held Wang Lan’s arm, calming her down.
In truth, Mu Wan understood why the Kuang family had come to apologize, thinking this incident could be smoothed over. After all, in this timeline, her suffering was merely an “attempted kidnapping.”
They didn’t know that she had been tortured and killed in the past timeline. But she and the Mu family knew—and they would never forgive the one who started it all.
