Chapter 34: Battle on the Arena

On the arena, Wang Zhi fixed his gaze on the five members of the Chi Yan team who had just walked over.

“Zhao Yang, are you sure you want to fight?” Wang Zhi said to Zhao Yang.

“Oh? Not fighting? That’s fine, then send those two women next to you over to me, and then get lost,” Zhao Yang said harshly.

“Looks like there’s no room for negotiation,” Wang Zhi said as he signaled his team, and soon, everyone revealed their weapons.

“Hmph, asking for death,” Zhao Yang sneered, and slowly moved forward.

As soon as he finished speaking, the five members of the Chi Yan team suddenly erupted. The clash of ten people occurred almost simultaneously.

After just two moves, Langya had already been killed by Lao He. Blood gushed out relentlessly. Perhaps it was due to Langya’s previous harsh actions that Lao He was a little angered. This time, Lao He used a move that injured himself, dealing a fatal blow to Langya. He blocked the opponent’s strike with his own body, but managed to slash Langya’s neck with his fatal strike. At this moment, Lao He still had the enemy’s dagger embedded in his shoulder blade.

Though Lao He’s life was not in immediate danger, he was now effectively out of the fight. Sakura and Liuli were locked in a stalemate with the enemy. When they saw Langya fall, they became even more aggressive, breaking the previous deadlock.

“Liuli!” At this moment, Wang Zhi immediately warned her to draw her sword.

Upon receiving Wang Zhi’s permission, Liuli quickly unsheathed her blade, revealing its dazzling sharp edge. Wang Zhi had once mentioned that she should avoid showcasing her blade’s full power inside the Dawn Tower to retain it as a trump card for future surprise attacks. However, he hadn’t expected her to draw it so soon.

When Liuli unsheathed the blade, she immediately launched a counterattack, breaking through the enemy’s defenses in two moves. At this point, Wei Xiaolian’s dagger had broken into two pieces and fell to the ground.

“We surrender!” Zhao Yang immediately shouted as he saw the situation go south.

Liuli stopped her attack. When Zhao Yang surrendered, the other members of the Chi Yan team followed suit and retreated.

Wang Zhi cursed in his heart, feeling that Zhao Yang was truly shameless. When they were on the arena, it was all about fighting with blades and swords—there was no such thing as surrendering! Just as Wang Zhi thought something was wrong, he glanced at Liuli, only to see that Zhao Yang had pulled out a handgun from his clothes and aimed it at Liuli, who was walking toward Wang Zhi.

“Watch out!” Wang Zhi shouted as he immediately activated a swift movement, rushing in front of Liuli. He grabbed her and turned around just as the sound of gunshots echoed in the hall—”Bang! Bang! Bang!” Three shots in a row!

The Dawn Tower had a rule: no firearms were allowed to be used, except in the training grounds. People could carry them, but they couldn’t use them. If someone did, the entire team would be penalized! At this moment, Wang Zhi had already pressed Liuli beneath him, and his back had taken the brunt of the three shots.

“Captain…?” Liuli, who was pressed beneath Wang Zhi, had already lost focus.

“Wang Zhi!”

“Wang Captain!” Both Fatty and Sakura shouted in unison.

Seeing that Wang Zhi didn’t respond, Sakura became enraged. She rushed at Zhao Yang with incredible speed. Zhao Yang saw Sakura charging toward him and immediately raised his gun, firing seven shots before the gun clicked empty, signaling it was out of bullets. However, the enemy had not been hit.

Sakura leaped into the air. This time, her intent to kill was clear. She landed beside Zhao Yang and swiftly slashed a dagger across his throat!

At this moment, the arena was littered with the bodies of Langya and Zhao Yang. Wei Xiaolian had already discarded her weapon, and the other two members of the Chi Yan team were stunned. They had not expected their leader to surrender and then attempt a surprise attack.

Now that their leader was dead, they regretted it. They regretted letting their lustful leader take such reckless actions. Now, they were left with only three members alive. With their leader dead, they could only surrender their weapons. Otherwise, they would end up just like their fallen leader.

“We really surrender! Our captain was the one who tried to sneak attack, it had nothing to do with us!” One of the team members immediately knelt down and said.

Sakura didn’t care if they were genuinely surrendering or not. She was about to kill them all when suddenly, someone grabbed her leg. Looking down, it was Wang Zhi, still moving.

Sakura squatted down and checked Wang Zhi’s body. She discovered that, unbeknownst to her, Wang Zhi had been wearing a bulletproof vest.

“You really are afraid of death,” Sakura pushed Wang Zhi’s chest and, realizing he had worn a bulletproof vest, her anger diminished somewhat.

“Don’t kill them. Someone might be coming soon!” Wang Zhi said weakly.

“Fine, just don’t speak anymore,” Sakura stood up and motioned for Liuli to follow as they walked toward the remaining three Chi Yan members.

“You can leave, but leave your magnetic cards behind. Or, you can all stay.” Sakura said fiercely to the three Chi Yan members.

At this point, the three of them didn’t care about the magnetic cards. They immediately threw them on the ground and fled.

Sakura then searched the magnetic cards of Langya and Zhao Yang.

This arena battle between the teams made the name “Sunset Twilight” known. It broke the long-standing peace, and the young girl with a sword on her back, along with the swift and deadly Sakura, became the subject of much conversation.

When Wang Zhi and his team descended from the arena and intended to seek Dr. Sophie for treatment, more than ten guards had already arrived, fully armed with automatic rifles. Among the guards, Wang Zhi finally recognized a familiar face from the day he was in Jie Xi’s office.

“Hello, Captain Wang. I’m Deputy Captain Wu Changzheng of the guard team. Please come with us,” he said, signaling to the guards behind him. Five guards came forward to escort Wang Zhi.
