Wang Zhi and his group arrived at the first-floor natural hot spring area, which was divided into two sections.
One was the public area, costing 10 survival points per person with no time limit.
The other was the VIP private area, costing 100 survival points with no time limit and no restrictions on the number of people.
Without hesitation, Wang Zhi chose the VIP private area—not for anything else but for some peace and quiet. He didn’t want any trouble, especially with two girls in the group. The last thing he wanted was a cliché scene where someone would pick a fight while they were relaxing.
The four of them entered the changing room and put on the designated bathrobes. The private hot spring wasn’t too big, with only four or five square meters of space, and the surface of the water was steaming with mist.
Once they stepped into the water, Wang Zhi took out the cups and beer he had prepared in advance.
“Ah, Fatty, my apologies. It’s not that I didn’t want to bring you along; you were just too quick to run off earlier.” Wang Zhi took a sip of beer and spoke with a grin.
“Speaking of which, where did Fatty go?” Old He just realized they hadn’t seen him for a while.
“Right before I saw this hot spring, he rushed off to the sunroom to sunbathe.”
“That’s really unfortunate! This is the VIP hot spring that costs 100 survival points, haha.” Old He laughed.
Seeing Old He in such a good mood, Wang Zhi also relaxed, and Su Muying was playfully teasing Liuli across from him. The two girls occasionally whispered and giggled, making Liuli blush from time to time.
Indeed, leisure and entertainment could easily make people complacent. They dulled one’s will, made them indulge in pleasure, and provided a temporary escape from the painful reality of the apocalypse.
“Come on, Old He, let’s toast—to our tomorrow and our future.” Wang Zhi raised his cup.
“Cheers!”
Clink! The two of them clinked their glasses and downed their drinks.
After finishing, Wang Zhi swam over to Su Muying, refilled her cup, and raised his own again.
“To you, Sister Ying. These past days, I owe you a lot. If it weren’t for you all, I might not be living like this now—heck, I might not even be alive. So, here’s to you, and to our future!”
“Giggle, let’s hope for smooth sailing!”
After they finished their drinks, Wang Zhi pulled Old He over.
“Old He, Sister Ying, we’ve fought together twice now. We’ve lived and died together. I hope we can put aside our prejudices from before the apocalypse and trust each other from now on. Come on, you two, have a drink together.”
For a long time, Old He and Su Muying hadn’t gotten along well. Wang Zhi saw this as the perfect opportunity to mend their relationship.
“Alright, old man, since Wang Zhi said so, can you stop acting like I owe you money all the time?” Su Muying teased, raising her glass.
Old He snorted but still clinked his glass with hers.
Seeing them drink together, Wang Zhi felt relieved. Then he turned to Liuli—wait a minute… was she a size A?
Noticing Wang Zhi’s gaze, Liuli shrank deeper into the water, as if trying to hide from him.
“Alright, let’s also toast to our little Liuli—may she grow stronger and even more beautiful!”
With that, Wang Zhi downed another glass.
After a few drinks, the four of them soaked in the hot spring for an hour before getting dressed and heading back to their residence.
Upon entering, they saw Fatty sitting on the sofa watching a movie.
“Hey, weren’t you sunbathing? Why are you back so soon?” Wang Zhi asked.
“Ugh! Don’t mention it! I only realized when I got there that it’s nighttime outside—what sun is there to bathe in?!” Fatty grumbled, looking defeated.
“Pfft!”
Hearing that, Su Muying almost burst out laughing. Fatty ended up missing both the sun and the hot spring.
“By the way, why do you guys smell so nice? Did you buy perfume or something?” Fatty sniffed and looked puzzled.
“Sigh, to be honest… we went to the hot spring.”
Wang Zhi decided not to keep it from him any longer and told him the truth.
“WHAT?! Captain Wang, that’s so messed up! You abandoned me to sunbathe alone while you all went to enjoy the hot spring?!”
“Fatty, you can’t blame us for this. You ran off too fast. I only found out about the hot spring after you left. But don’t worry, you can still go now. The public area is only 10 survival points.”
“That’s all I needed to hear! Later, guys!”
As soon as Fatty heard that he could still go, he bolted out the door.
A few minutes later, he actually returned, double-checking with Wang Zhi to make sure he wasn’t being pranked. Once he confirmed, he rushed off again.
