Transmigrated as a Cannon Fodder Who Married into a Wealthy Family Ch 05.2

Chapter 5.2

Indeed, it wasn’t convenient in a public setting. Even ordinary people arguing might end up being live-streamed on Weibo by bystanders, let alone Shen Yuanting and someone like him who attracted attention naturally.

Sheng Xin gritted his teeth, looking frustrated. “Fine, I’ll look out for you—”

Shen Yuanting cut in, “You do your own thing.”

Sheng Xin: “???”

Yan Zhao tried hard not to laugh.

Sheng Xin, confused and furious, roared, “Why?! Am I not your friend anymore?!”

“You said you were cutting ties with me, didn’t you?” Shen Yuanting threw back the harsh words Sheng Xin had said, seeing the man going berserk like a mad dog. Then he calmly explained, “Sheng Xin, the matters between me and him can only be resolved by us.”

Exactly! This was his and Shen Yuanting’s private conflict. What was this little director meddling in for!

Sheng Xin scratched his hair and walked up to Yan Zhao with his messy hair, squinting his eyes threateningly. “You better not have any bad ideas, or else if Lao Shen doesn’t deal with you, I will.”

“Do you have Shen Yuanting’s approval to deal with me?” Yan Zhao raised the corner of his mouth, prolonged the ending, and said provocatively, “Shen Ge[1]哥= Ge = brother?”

Shen Yuanting rubbed his temples and pulled Sheng Xin aside. “Don’t make trouble.”

Sheng Xin furrowed his brows tightly, gritting his teeth as he glared fiercely at Yan Zhao, resembling a Husky with its tail stepped on.

— Watch me step on him again.

Yan Zhao innocently showed his face, complaining, “He’s still staring at me!”

Sheng Xin: “You fuck—”

Shen Yuanting glanced at Sheng Xin, causing him to angrily turn his head and glare at the air.

Yan Zhao’s lips curled up in a crazy smile, and then he heard Shen Yuanting say, “Don’t get too cocky.”

“I’m not.” Yan Zhao immediately dropped the corners of his mouth, lowered his gaze, and emitted an aloof and indifferent “acting cool” aura.

Wait, hold on, he’s still wearing sunglasses and a mask. How did Shen Yuanting perceive his smugness? Is he using his intuition?

Shen Yuanting’s office was on the 22nd floor, with a floor-to-ceiling window behind his desk. From there, he could overlook the entire street, with the flowing traffic appearing as tiny as beetles, let alone humans, not even worth mentioning.

Yan Zhao took the coffee Shen Yuanting had sent over, took a sip, and furrowed his eyebrows, eyes, and nose all into a knot. It was so bitter.

Looking at Shen Yuanting again, he drank without changing his expression, not even lifting his eyebrows.

Are you sure your taste buds aren’t malfunctioning?!

Shen Yuanting placed the cup down and asked, “What do you want?”

Getting straight to the point seemed a bit too deliberate, not much different from writing “I messed up, let me save my previous suicidal move” on his face.

On his way there, Yan Zhao had already figured out how to casually bring up the matter, but seeing Shen Yuanting’s eyes at this moment, all those carefully crafted words were frozen.

Because of his single eyelids, coupled with a slight upward tilt at the ends, his eyes, light and bright, appeared a bit fierce when Shen Yuanting had no expression.

Quickly gathering his thoughts, Yan Zhao unconsciously folded his ten fingers on his thighs. “No, just passing by, thought I’d drop in.”

Shen Yuanting nonchalantly said, “Oh,” with an expressionless gaze. “Weren’t you here to discuss endorsements?”

“Cough!” Yan Zhao was caught off guard and quickly adjusted his posture.

— Sheng Xin, you big mouth, did you tell Shen Yuanting about their previous confrontation as a joke?!

“No, I don’t casually take endorsements,” Yan Zhao turned his head away, being aloof. “But you, is it okay to leave the meeting halfway?”

Shen Yuanting adjusted his tie and said coldly, “The meeting goes on for too long, they can’t concentrate. A break is better.” He exuded the demeanor of a leader.

Yan Zhao nodded, using the cliché “I have a friend” as a pretext and seemingly casually said, “Shen Yuanting… I have a question for you. I have a friend who is a scriptwriter, currently working on a script about business warfare. He sought guidance from someone in Yuye Group, and that person got drunk once…”

Yuye Group is Han Yuxuan’s company.

Yan Zhao was quite unfamiliar with the business warfare aspect, and the book didn’t describe in detail how Han Yuxuan tricked Shen Yuanting. He could only give a rough overview, feeling a bit dizzy from his own confusion, unsure if Shen Yuanting could understand.

If he couldn’t understand, then so be it. The author were about to make him endure this trial!

“… That’s it.” Yan Zhao sipped his coffee like a cat drinking water, tasted bitterness again, and asked, “Do you think the other party’s strategy is feasible?”

Shen Yuanting lowered his eyes, as if contemplating something, and didn’t answer immediately.

He seemed to encounter something extremely perplexing, and the indifferent aura around him vanished. Instead, a hint of restlessness surged.

He raised his eyes, gazing deeply at Yan Zhao. Those light-colored eyes were like the sharpest part of a knife, ready to cut through Yan Zhao’s surface and reveal the flesh beneath.

Yan Zhao instinctively moved back a bit.

Oh my, this is frightening. The aura of a big boss is truly different.

“Tell your scriptwriter friend,” Shen Yuanting said, “such methods are too low-level. He shouldn’t write it.”

Yan Zhao forced a smile and said, “I’ll convey the message.”

— Hehe, even if it’s more low-level, you still fell for it in the original work. You can’t tell me you did it on purpose, right?

With the conversation concluded, Yan Zhao had no reason to stay any longer.

He said, “I’ll go then, not to disturb your meeting.”

“Don’t you want to stay a bit longer?” Shen Yuanting glanced at his wristwatch. “The meeting will be over soon, and we can grab a meal together.”

Cut the crap. According to Sheng Xin’s words, eating with you is about the same as you have a supper.

Yan Zhao replied, “I have training at Xingren, and I have a program recording next week.”

This statement didn’t deceive Shen Yuanting. The Mu combination was in a period of career growth, and their schedule was quite packed. Besides attending shootings, they needed to make time for training. After all, they were idols who sang and danced, and they couldn’t forget their basic skills before the transition.

“Okay,” Shen Yuanting didn’t insist. He added, “I’ll accompany you downstairs then.”

Why is President Shen suddenly so enthusiastic? Yan Zhao can’t handle this!

“No need!” Yan Zhao quickly refused, grabbing his hat and pulling it down over his head, shading half of his face in shadow. “I can go alone. You go ahead with your meeting!”

As he went upstairs, he received numerous glances from the employees. He didn’t want to be treated like a national treasure again.

Shen Yuanting said, “Alright, take care on your way.”

Not sure if it was an illusion, but Shen Yuanting’s lips seemed to move upwards. Upon closer inspection, he still maintained that cold demeanor.

Well, a white moonlight should be unattainable. How can he smile at a cannon fodder villain?

Just as he was about to close the door, Shen Yuanting suddenly called him back, saying, “Wait.”

Yan Zhao turned around, looking at him with confusion.

Shen Yuanting said, “On Saturday night, come to the mansion for dinner. Clear your schedule in advance.”

The mansion referred to Shen’s father and stepmother mansion, Mr. And Mrs. Shen, where stepmother Tang Jingyan lived.

    I’m a bit confused…
So from what I understood Mc gave some of Ml’s company’s secrets to org. gong. Right???
And he didn’t even properly tell it to ml but I think it’s been settled without any drama…
Also was chapter 1 first scene about him suddenly transmigrating in a novel? So how come he was so calm and wasn’t surprised at all?

Im sure by now you read ahead and know what happened but I think it was mentioned that he was given money as a reminder to steal the documents (It gets confusing because MC doesn’t mention what happened and didn’t yet compared to the book plot, it’s hard to tell) But from what I could tell, he is supposed to steal the documents but he still didn’t do it and he got a sum of money as a signal/reminder? Otherwise he wouldn’t be so calm about it
