Chapter 30
Director Sun’s expression slightly changed. He hadn’t expected Su Qianqian to catch onto his wordplay.
Wasn’t she supposed to be an illiterate from the countryside? How could she recognize the game he was playing with words?
“Does anyone know what happened?” Director Sun immediately looked at the others, his face carrying a gentle smile.
Platon leader shook her head. “When I got here, I just saw Qianqian on the ground. How she fell, I’m not sure.” She hadn’t seen what had happened, so she couldn’t say anything.
“Husband, it was her who knocked me down, and she still won’t admit it! How else could I have fallen? I’m not bad at riding!” Song Qianqian clung to Director Sun’s arm, speaking with a tearful tone.
“Mrs. Cheng, I don’t think my wife would joke about something like this. If you didn’t knock her over, how could she have fallen?” Director Sun clearly sided with his wife.
Su Qianqian curled her lips into a mocking smile.
“Whoever claims something, let them prove it. You say I knocked you over? Show me the evidence.” Her face was calm, her posture straight, exuding a sense of unflinching confidence without a hint of nervousness or guilt.
Platon leader was stunned. She had no idea how to deal with such a situation, yet Su Qianqian—someone who had just come from the countryside—remained so composed?
“You say you didn’t knock me over? Then show me the proof!” Song Qianqian immediately responded.
Just then, Wu Sufen pushed Cheng Yue over at high speed, the wheelchair almost sparking from the speed. Even Cheng Yue, who had been on the battlefield, was holding onto the armrests, his expression serious.
“Captain Cheng, you’ve arrived. It’s really just a small accident, no need to escalate things like this. We all live in the same compound, a little friction is normal, there’s no need to make a big deal out of it.”
When Director Sun saw Cheng Yue, his attitude changed noticeably. He felt that such matters should be discussed with a man.
Cheng Yue remained calm and didn’t respond to Director Sun. Instead, he looked at Su Qianqian. “What happened?”
“I was turning from this side, and she was coming from the other. When I saw her, I moved to the side to avoid her, but she charged at me, and I had to stop. She lost control and fell.”
“And then, Song Qianqian sat on the ground and refused to get up, insisting that I knocked her over, and Director Sun believed her.” Su Qianqian explained the situation succinctly and clearly.
With such reasoning and summary ability, it didn’t seem like she was an illiterate.
“No witnesses?” Cheng Yue asked.
Su Qianqian shook her head.
“Then we’ll have to find physical evidence,” Cheng Yue glanced at his own bike. “My bike has no signs of a collision. If the two bikes had collided, there would definitely be marks, everyone knows that, right?”
“If it could knock someone over, the impact would have been strong, and the tires would have been affected.”
At that moment, everyone turned to look at the two bikes. Someone shouted, “Director Sun’s bike handlebars seem to have some scratches, but the tires look fine.”
“Then it’s clear. The two bikes didn’t collide. The bikes just fell over when the person fell, which caused the handlebars to scrape.” Cheng Yue looked at Director Sun confidently.
“Of course, if you think I’m wrong, we can have experts verify it.” Whether the two bikes collided could definitely be confirmed by a professional, after all, Cheng Yue’s bike was very new and well-maintained.
Director Sun’s gaze flickered, then he smiled and said, “It’s not that serious. Maybe my wife was just scared and can’t remember exactly what happened. It’s normal for someone to have memory lapses when they’re frightened.”
He quickly changed his stance, probably realizing that his wife was at fault. After all, he knew exactly what kind of person Song Qianqian was. Given her old grudge with Su Qianqian, it wasn’t surprising that she would try to blame Su Qianqian.
