Chapter 40
Before he could finish speaking, a cold and sharp gaze swept over, making Cheng Yuan shudder. “Captain, I was just joking, just joking! I’ll go cook!” He quickly made his exit.
“Sister-in-law, the food I cook isn’t as good as yours,” Cheng Yuan said with an apologetic look.
“It’s still good,” Su Qianqian encouraged him.
Cheng Yuan was about to smile when he felt the chilly gaze again.
What’s going on with the Captain? He doesn’t like it, but he doesn’t want anyone to have any thoughts about his wife? Of course, Cheng Yuan didn’t have any intentions, he was just joking. After all, they had been brothers for so many years. How could he not know him?
Of course, the real reason he kept quiet was because he was afraid of getting his legs broken.
“Sister-in-law, are you really going to divorce the Captain?” he asked weakly, glancing at Cheng Yue. Cheng Yue had a dark expression.
“At the beginning, it was me who stubbornly pursued him, so I should let him go free. Of course, I’m still very grateful that he gave me three such adorable and sensible little treasures.” Su Qianqian reached out to pat the heads of her three children with a motherly smile.
“But aren’t you doing fine now?”
Cheng Yue spoke up, “Hurry up and eat, stop asking so many questions.”
Cheng Yuan had no choice but to shut up and eat his food.
Tch, he’ll regret it later!
“Sister-in-law, are you still going to night school tonight?”
“No, Daya is injured, I have to take care of her.”
“Mom, I don’t need you to take care of me. You go to class, and after class, you’ll become really excellent. That way, you can find an even better husband!” Daya said.
Cough, cough, cough… Cheng Yue almost choked.
He really wanted to give Daya a thumbs up, but he didn’t dare to. Instead, he quietly gave her a thumbs-up under the table.
“Cheng Qingyan, do you really want us to get divorced?” Cheng Yue said this with his teeth clenched.
“Why are you being so mean to my sister? Isn’t it you who want to get a divorce?” Erbao immediately stepped in to argue.
Sanya softly added two words: “Exactly.”
A mouthful of old blood!
Cheng Yue felt like he was being targeted!
“Mom, we can take care of ourselves, you can go to night school,” Erbao said.
“How about this, I’ll take you all with me, let you feel what it’s like to go to class. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand, just behave well.”
“Really? That’s great!” The three children were excited. For Daya, she didn’t feel like her injury was that serious, and she was more interested in trying something new.
Seeing the happy looks on the faces of the mother and her three children, Cheng Yue said to Cheng Yuan, “Go borrow a car.”
“Got it!”
After dinner, Cheng Yuan went to borrow the car.
Then, Su Qianqian took the three children to the car, and just as she was about to close the door, she found Cheng Yue getting in as well.
“What are you doing?” she asked, confused.
“You go to class, I’ll help look after the kids.”
“……”
The whole family of five went to night school. Luckily, the desks in the night school weren’t full, so they sat in the back row. When the teacher saw them, they were momentarily stunned. Cheng Yue briefly explained the situation, and the teacher accepted it.
It was still a Chinese class that day.
The three little ones were very well-behaved. They didn’t make any noise, and listened attentively, which made the other parents in the class very envious, since most of them had kids who were much harder to manage.
“Your kids are really well-behaved, they can sit still and don’t make a sound.”
“Mom, look, I wrote this, Daya.” Daya wrote a whole page of her name, and her writing was getting better and better. At that moment, she had a look on her face that was asking for praise, and Su Qianqian couldn’t help but hold her face and plant a kiss on it. “Daya is amazing!”
The people in the classroom were stunned.
People of their generation usually express their emotions in a more reserved way.
Cheng Yue really thought for a moment: What would happen if Su Qianqian were to be so affectionate with him?
It’s impossible, impossible. There are so many people around, and besides, they’re about to divorce.
After class, the whole family of five went home.
“Why is the teacher so young?” he casually remarked, “and not bad-looking either.”
“I don’t know.”
“Do you just take Chinese class?”
“No, we start with a few Chinese classes to build the basics, then move on to others.”
Cheng Yue nodded.
Once they were home, Su Qianqian asked the kids, “Can Daya sleep with me tonight? You three sleep together, so you don’t accidentally hurt Daya’s injury.”
“Sure.” Erbao and Sanya obediently agreed.
But their eyes betrayed a hint of envy.
“By the way, Cheng Yue, how long does it usually take for a divorce application to be approved?” She had to plan for the future.
“About a month, I guess. I’m not sure about the exact time,” Cheng Yue replied, feeling inexplicably irritated, but he suppressed the emotion and answered.
“I’ll continue to massage your legs tonight,” she said. She needed to ensure that his leg injury was completely healed before she left.
As usual, she placed a glass of water on the table, then focused on massaging him for half an hour. The whole process was patient and gentle, giving Cheng Yue the illusion that if Su Qianqian was pretending, there would be no need for her to massage him. Whether he lived or died, it wouldn’t matter to her; in fact, it might be better for her if he didn’t get better.
Once this thought crossed his mind, his thoughts became disordered, and his emotions were affected.
“Erbao, Sanya, sleep well, good night!” After kissing both of their foreheads, Su Qianqian carried Daya to bed.
Cheng Yue had a thought: Why didn’t she say good night to him? Is he not worthy?
Su Qianqian slept with Daya.
Since Daya could remember, she had never slept with Su Qianqian. She was nervous but also excited.
The Cheng family had worried that Su Qianqian might mistreat the children at night, so they had the three kids sleep by themselves. For a child who craved a mother’s love, being able to sleep with Mom was such a happy thing.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Su Qianqian noticed Daya’s body seemed a little stiff and reached out to check her forehead, worried she might have a fever.
“I’m fine, Mom. Let’s sleep,” Daya said in her sweet, cute voice.
“Okay.”
Su Qianqian held her close, and Daya froze for a moment before showing a sweet smile. So this is what it feels like to be hugged by Mom while sleeping. It’s so wonderful.
After confirming that Daya had fallen asleep, Su Qianqian used a bit of spiritual water on her injury to relieve the pain and speed up her recovery.
That night, Daya had a beautiful dream. In it, she was lying on a soft cloud, sweet and fragrant, feeling very happy.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Su Qianqian sleeping beside her. She exhaled softly. It was real.
Mom is like a soft, fragrant cloud.
When mother and daughter got up, they found that Cheng Yue, Erbao, and Sanya were already up, making breakfast in the kitchen.
“Wow, Captain Cheng can make breakfast too?” Su Qianqian teased.
“Who are you looking down on?” Cheng Yue retorted, not pleased.
This morning, when he got up and moved around, he found that his legs felt particularly strong, and he could even jump a little. He believed that in about half a month, he would probably be back to his old self, which was quite a pleasant surprise.
However, when they finally sat down to eat…
The three little ones looked rather uncomfortable.
“What’s wrong?” Cheng Yue looked at them.
Sanya, chewing on a bun, muttered, “It’s not tasty.”
“How can it not be tasty? Sanya, you can’t lie. It’s delicious, even better than what Mom makes!” Erbao said seriously.
The sisters: ?? What are you talking about?
