Chapter 34 – This Old Lady Is Really Hard to Eliminate!
Chen Zhonglun: “???”
He was a judge and helped the contestants choreograph their routines—it wouldn’t even be an exaggeration to say he was like a teacher guiding a student. And yet, this ugly old lady with age spots on her face was actually trying to kick him out??
Was she kidding?!
Chen Zhonglun laughed angrily. “You’re saying you want me to leave?”
Lin Qingqing looked at him and raised her brows. “So young, and already hard of hearing?”
Chen Zhonglun’s expression froze instantly!
How could this ugly old woman have such a sharp tongue?!
He immediately stood up and snorted coldly. “Don’t regret it when you lose later!”
That’s what he said, but he didn’t leave right away.
Out of respect for her age, he decided to give the old lady one more chance.
He, Young Master Chen, was magnanimous. As long as the old woman lowered her head, he wouldn’t hold it against her.
But the scene he had imagined—of her bowing her head—never happened.
Instead, he saw the old lady walk to the practice room door, open it, step aside, and look at him with a completely calm gaze.
Her actions and expression clearly said, without a word: Still not leaving?
Young Master Chen, born with a silver spoon in his mouth—when had he ever been insulted or humiliated like this?
He was furious, but he had nowhere to vent his anger.
Dealing with an old lady—if he got physical, he’d look like a bully; if he used words, he’d still look like a bully.
So, there was no solution.
He could only swallow his frustration silently.
But then, Chen Zhonglun had a new thought.
If no one choreographed a routine for the old lady, she wouldn’t be able to come up with one herself—and would be eliminated.
Perfect. That way, he wouldn’t have to see this annoying old woman again tomorrow!
He was especially annoyed with her now—this one in front of him, and the one at home who had humiliated his grandfather!
With a cold snort, Chen Zhonglun shoved his hands in his pockets and walked out of the practice room.
To Lin Qingqing, his departing figure looked arrogant and cocky—like he was asking for a beating.
She curled her lip. Whose kid was this? So rude!
If she were his grandmother, she’d definitely give him a proper lesson.
Still, she felt lucky. Her own grandsons, though all villains, at least showed her respect as their grandmother.
If they were not only villains but also disrespectful brats, she’d probably lose all hope in life.
Then again, with their love-obsessed and aloof personalities, they weren’t exactly problem-free…
Forget it. No matter what, she was determined to become the kind of rich person she used to hate the most!
Two hours later, the program’s choreography deadline arrived.
Just as Chen Zhonglun was leaning back with a smug smile, waiting to watch the old lady get eliminated—he was stunned.
On stage, the old lady performed a self-choreographed popping routine that blew everyone away!
“Damn! That routine was amazing! She could compete in a provincial-level competition with that!”
“I remember years ago, a young girl did a self-choreographed popping routine and won the provincial championship!”
“Don’t tell me that young girl was this old lady?”
“No way, right? That girl was way prettier than this old lady!”
After her performance, Lin Qingqing calmly walked backstage.
This round’s format was ten contestants down to three. The results would be announced the next day.
Watching the old lady leave the stage, Chen Zhonglun looked incredibly sour.
This old lady… was really hard to eliminate!
Lin Qingqing got into a luxury car parked by the road, took off her wig, and told the driver, “To the mall!”
She wanted to shop—shop like crazy! Revenge shopping!
She’d worked hard for days and hadn’t even had a chance to enjoy being rich. Today, she was going to spoil herself!
At the CBD mall, Lin Qingqing didn’t hold back at all. She headed straight for the luxury boutiques, going with the motto: If it’s expensive, I’m buying it!
As soon as she stepped into a luxury store, she saw a tall figure walking into the VIP lounge ahead of her.
“Qin Yansen?”
She called out tentatively, and the figure stopped and turned to look at her.
When Qin Yansen saw the old lady he hadn’t seen in just a few hours, now with jet-black hair and looking surprisingly youthful and spirited, he was stunned and speechless.
Was this still his grandmother?
Why did she suddenly look so young?
This particular boutique catered to women. Qin Yansen’s sudden appearance here made Lin Qingqing’s heart skip a beat.
Was this love-struck fool here to buy something for Mu Yiyi?
If so, everything she’d told Qin Yansen earlier would’ve been for nothing!
Lin Qingqing tried her best to appear calm and collected. She asked, puzzled, “You’re not going home after work? What are you doing here?”
Qin Yansen came back to his senses and replied with a straight face, “Just some errands. What about you? What are you doing here? Whatever you’re looking for, just have Butler Ding call and ask them to send it over for you. Why go through the trouble yourself?”
Just a few days ago, the old lady was barely hanging on. Sure, she’d gone clubbing, bungee jumping, and even dyed her hair recently, but it might all be just a last burst of energy before the end. Better not to overexert herself.
Lin Qingqing wasn’t in the mood to feel touched by her eldest grandson’s concern. What she really cared about was whether this love-obsessed fool was still hopeless.
That would directly impact her billionaire dreams!
But since Qin Yansen clearly didn’t want to talk about it, she let it go for now.
“I’m just out getting some exercise. If you’re shopping, I’ll come with you.”
She walked into the VIP lounge ahead of Qin Yansen—only to see a woman standing in front of the sofa.
That woman was Mu Yiyi!
She’d guarded against this day like a hawk, and yet she still hadn’t managed to keep this Mu Yiyi away!
Lin Qingqing thought of the plot from the novel and really wanted to turn around and punch her love-struck grandson right now—maybe knock some sense into him!
Her lips pressed tightly together. After a few seconds, she turned to Qin Yansen and asked, “You brought her here to buy clothes?”
Facing his grandmother’s gaze, Qin Yansen looked a bit guilty and turned his head away slightly. “Mm.”
In truth, he hadn’t brought Mu Yiyi here to shop. She had come to pick out a dress and forgot her wallet, so she’d called him for help.
She’d sounded pitiful and almost pleading on the phone. He really couldn’t refuse.
After all, she was the girl he had liked for many years.
At first, he had planned to just transfer her the money. But Mu Yiyi said she wanted to see him in person and apologize for how her friend had disrespected his grandmother last time.
Qin Yansen had a soft heart and came over.
He didn’t think it was wrong to help the girl he liked with a small favor. But now, in front of his grandmother, for some reason, he felt a bit guilty.
Mu Yiyi bit her lip and looked at Qin Yansen cautiously. She said softly, “I’ll definitely pay you back.”
Qin Yansen looked at her and said gently, “Forget it, it’s fine.”
Mu Yiyi didn’t have much money. Buying this dress probably cost her everything she had on her.
He didn’t care about the money—and he couldn’t bear to see the girl he liked spend her entire savings on a dress.
