Chapter 180: The Condom

The two of them walked along the main road with three children.

“How long is your vacation this time?” Xu Ning asked.

“I took a month off, but I have to leave two days early. I want to make a trip back to the capital,” he replied.

Xu Ning asked in surprise, “Back to the capital? Did something happen?”

“It’s just that my good aunt got divorced and remarried in the capital with her daughter. I heard from Wenqing that the man she married this time is quite capable; he was her former admirer.

Also, I haven’t taken care of my uncle for the past few years because I’ve been busy.”

Their family had become much more honest over the past few years and no longer had designs on our house, so I hadn’t gone back to deal with his mess.

However, this time, my aunt’s marriage to her current husband was arranged by him.

Recently, my grandparents and that aunt had started causing trouble again, so I planned to resolve it all when I went back this time.”

Xu Ning nodded and said, “It’s good to resolve it sooner rather than later; otherwise, they’ll become more assertive, and it will be even more troublesome to handle later on.”

“When Brother Xu and Sister-in-law came last time, I had originally planned to take leave and come with them, but unexpectedly, there was a sudden task, and I didn’t get to see them,” Lu Xiaotang sighed with some regret.

Xu Ning comforted him gently, “There will be plenty of opportunities to meet in the future.”

Lu Xiaotang nodded, smiling before asking, “How is my sister-in-law doing?”

“She’s quite good. She’s beautiful and has a lovely personality. She and my brother are a perfect match,” Xu Ning replied. “A while ago, he wrote to say that Li Na is pregnant.”

“That’s wonderful news!” Lu Xiaotang’s face lit up with joy. “Your brother isn’t getting any younger; it’s about time they had a child.”

Xu Ning thought to herself, He’s only twenty-four this year; he’s not old at all! However, she didn’t say this out loud.

“Since you’re back, how about we take the kids to town tomorrow to have a family picture taken?” Xu Ning suggested. “They’re over a year old now and haven’t left the village yet. It would be nice for Grandpa Wang and Grandma Wang to see them, too.”

Lu Xiaotang nodded, “Okay, let’s take Grandpa Chen’s cart tomorrow. By the way, how are Grandpa Wang and Grandma Wang doing these days?”

“They’re doing quite well, much more energetic than when I first met them,” Xu Ning replied with a smile. “Recently, I went to the city to deliver some vegetables to them, and they gave the kids a few jade pendants and longevity locks as gifts.”

 “When I visited, my aunt gave me two cans of malted milk essence. I’ll give one can to Grandpa Qi tonight and take the other to Grandpa Wang and Grandma Wang tomorrow,” Lu Xiaotang said. “I also brought a few cans of milk powder to keep for our girl.”

“You don’t need to buy any more milk powder,” Xu Ning replied. “I still have some left. The boys have started to prefer solid foods, so they don’t drink much milk powder anymore. Tang Tang is fine with just breastfeeding, and I usually add some eggs and noodles to her meals.”

“Okay, got it,” Lu Xiaotang said, nodding, relieved to hear that things were under control.

 “By the way, when my brother came last time, I told him that you wrote back asking me to study more textbooks.

Mom and Dad also know about it. I told them you wrote to inform me, so make sure not to let it slip tonight,” Xu Ning reminded him.

“I understand. If anything comes up in the future, just put it on me. I’ll explain it to them,” he assured her.

Xu Ning added, “Also, be sure to write a letter to Xiaoran and remind her!”

Lu Xiaotang nodded, saying, “I’ll write to her tonight and send it along when we go to the city tomorrow.”

Niu Niu and Pi Pi, tired from walking, tugged at Xu Ning’s legs, signaling that they wanted to be carried.

Seeing their small hands reaching up, Lu Xiaotang chuckled and said, “You carry Tang Tang, and I’ll handle these two little ones.”

He scooped Niu Niu and Pi Pi into his arms, and they burst into giggles, delighted to be lifted up.

Xu Ning smiled at the heartwarming scene and gently said, “Niu Niu, Pi Pi, give your daddy a kiss.”

The two little ones immediately leaned in and pressed their faces against his, making loud smacking sounds as they kissed him, and soon his face was covered in their drool.

After the kisses, they revealed their little teeth and smiled at him.

Lu Xiaotang planted a few kisses on their faces, which made the two little ones laugh even more. They even reached out to pinch his face.

After a pleasant walk, they finally returned home. Once inside, they gently laid Tang Tang and the boys on the heated bed, where the children settled down, still full of joy from the day’s play.

Lu Xiaotang began to organize the items he had brought back. He stored the milk powder in the cabinet, planning to take some malted milk essence and snacks to the cattle shed later in the evening, while leaving a portion to give to Grandpa Wang and Grandma Wang tomorrow.

He also put a cloth bag in the cabinet, and Xu Ning curiously asked, “What’s that?”

He replied calmly, “It’s for use tonight.”

“What do you need it for tonight? Let me see,” Xu Ning said.

She took the cloth bag from his hands, opened it, and found several small paper packages inside, each labeled with the word: “Condoms.”

Below that, there was an address that read: Produced by a certain latex factory.

Her hand froze for a moment, and suddenly her face turned bright red. She placed the bag on the heated bed, glared at him, and then turned around to head to the kitchen.

Lu Xiaotang knew she was embarrassed. He chuckled as he put the package away in the cabinet, then arranged the fence around the heated bed to let the kids play there before following her to the kitchen.
