Chapter 6
“Let’s go to the county.”
Qin Lingnian’s smile was forced and his tone was a little cold and hard. Compared with the old man who ran over and chatted with him enthusiastically, he seemed very cold and aloof.
It’s not that he looked down on the villagers because of his success, but he simply had no good feelings towards these people at all.
Before he joined the army, most people in the village bullied him and his mother.
Although his father’s generation had five brothers, which was considered a large family in the village, his father only had him as a son. In the village, sons with little standing could not stand up straight and were bound to be looked down upon and bullied.
Not long after his younger sister was born, his father died of illness. Because his mother had no support from her family, not only were there people with different surnames in the village, but even his uncles and aunts bullied their family.
A family in the neighboring village was ridiculed as a family with no descendants because they had four daughters. They had been bullied by the villagers for more than ten years. However, since the eldest daughter of that family married a soldier, no one dared to bully them anymore.
So, he cruelly “abandoned” his mother and younger sister and joined the army in the summer when he was 16 years old. In addition to earning allowances to support his family, he could also use his glorious identity to protect his mother and younger sister.
Sure enough, when he went home to visit his relatives for the first time three years later, the villagers’ attitude towards him had changed dramatically. They looked at him with kindness and awe.
In the past, he pointed at his nose and scolded him in front of him, saying “He was born by a father but not educated by his father, and is destined to go to prison.” But when they met again, he smiled and praised him, “You are really promising, you have brought honor not only to your father and mother, but also to the people of Daqin Village.”
However, Qin Lingnian’s indifference and aloofness did not make these people who appeared to be “enthusiastic” but were actually just trying to curry favor with the powerful retreat.
An auntie who used to bully Qin’s mother saw the scar on Qin Lingnian’s mouth and showed concern with a look of heartache.
“Hey, Lingnian, what’s wrong with your mouth?”
Yun Angge, who was following Qin Lingnian not too far away, glared at the aunt secretly, complaining in his heart that she was talking about things that were irrelevant.
A hint of embarrassment also appeared on Qin Lingnian’s solemn face, but fortunately he tried his best to control his emotions, and his face was dark so nothing unusual could be seen without careful observation.
“When I was shaving this morning, a mouse suddenly jumped out and my hand slipped and was cut by the razor blade.”
Qin Lingnian thought of this excuse when he was hurting himself with a blade. It came out smoothly and there was no sign of lying.
Although many people suspected that he might have slipped and caused such a serious scratch, they could not see what happened and could not find any reason for him to lie.
After all, if his hand hadn’t slipped, who would be so cruel as to poke two bloody cuts on his own mouth?
“Every year when the grain is distributed, mice will come to our house. The mousetrap I bought is very useful. I caught a mouse not long after I put it out yesterday. I will go home and get it and send it to your house.”
“I have several mousetraps at home, all of them are very useful, I will also send two to your house…”
Qin Lingnian didn’t expect that a lie could arouse such enthusiasm among these villagers, but these people were all people he had written down in his little notebook back then. Their kindness was just to please him deliberately and to offset the resentment in his heart.
Therefore, he would not appreciate their kindness at all, and it would only make him despise them even more from the bottom of his heart.
“Don’t bother, I’ve already stepped on the mouse to death.”
The air suddenly became quiet.
But after a pause, the old man who ran over to say hello first continued to flatter with a smile: “Why are you all so worried? Your skills are so good, what’s a mere mouse…”
I don’t know if these people are tactless or pretending to be ignorant. They just don’t take Qin Lingnian’s indifference seriously and keep trying to pick up the conversation one by one.
Even if Qin Lingnian disliked these people, they were all from the same village. Moreover, although they were hateful, they had not done anything bad to harm the world. Moreover, his current status was special, so he could not refuse them and had to say a few perfunctory words to them.
However, although these people were enthusiastic about Qin Lingnian, they treated Yun Angge as a human decoration.
But due to Qin Lingnian’s majesty, they did not dare to mock and humiliate Yun Angge as they did in the past.
In the past, these people did not give Yun Angge any face at all. They dared to call her the daughter of a black-hearted capitalist in front of her, and some children even threw broken bricks and tiles at her.
Now that Qin Lingnian is here, these people dare not scold her, and they don’t even dare to openly hate and despise her.
Sure enough, Qin Lingnian is the only one who can protect her!
Yun Angge, who was treated as air, did not try to stand out. He just lowered his head and watched the ants moving on the ground.
Even though she had already seen Qin Feng and Luan Yingjie, she forced herself not to pay attention to them.
If this scumbag and evil couple didn’t come to disgust her, then she naturally wouldn’t disgust them either. She would ignore them every time she met them, and they would treat each other as air.
However, Luan Yingjie and Qin Feng have been paying close attention to her.
Even though they both appeared calm on the surface and tried their best not to look at Yun Angge, their eyes would always glance at her inadvertently.
If you look closely, you can see a hint of panic in Luan Yingjie’s eyes.
When he heard Qin Lingnian say that he was going to the county and Yun Angge was going with him, his face suddenly darkened. He stared at Yun Angge and wanted to make eye contact with her, but Yun Angge didn’t even look at him.
But he was very anxious!
But he couldn’t show any panic on his face, so he could only worry in his heart.
Didn’t they have an agreement that she could pretend to be sick to avoid these three days and would succeed if she persisted for another half a day? Why did she back out?
Could it be that Qin Lingnian forced her…
Qin Feng naturally didn’t know the purpose of Qin Lingnian taking Yun Angge to the county. He just thought that he was taking Yun Angge to stroll around and buy things at the supply and marketing cooperative.
Speaking of this, she got angry and wanted to scold Qin Lingnian for being a pervert who was seduced by beauty.
Anyone who hadn’t had his brain pushed by a pig could have seen that Yun Angge deliberately bumped into Qin Lingnian’s arms and pretended to lose her innocence in front of him just to find a stable job and live a good life.
At that time, they tried their best to persuade Qin Lingnian to reject the marriage, but he refused to listen and insisted on marrying this fickle bitch.
Even if her original purpose was to get this bitch married, she should stop dreaming about pestering Luan Yingjie.
But she didn’t want such a bitch with questionable background and corrupt morals to harm good men. A bitch like her was only worthy of marrying the village scoundrel.
But her fate was so good that she actually relied on Qin Lingnian.
Qin Feng became jealous to the point of going crazy when she thought that someone like Yun Angge was actually living a better life than her.
Qin Feng puffed out his cheeks, glared at Yun Angge fiercely, pushed through the crowd and came in front of Qin Lingnian.
She brewed her emotions for a long time, and said in a low voice with a sad face: “Brother Lingnian, you are finally back. You don’t know, in the three years since you were away from home, my aunt and Mingyue have not had a good day. Not only do we have to eat coarse food every day, but we also have to endure bullying all day long…”
