First Day of Pretending to Be an Alpha
Shengmo Company Headquarters.
Inside the meeting room, a high-level executive meeting was in full swing.
At the end of the conference table sat a young Alpha, dressed to the nines in a sharp suit, face dark as thunder.
Everyone else was sitting up straight, cautious and tense, as an oppressive atmosphere spread across the meeting table like a heavy fog.
All the top brass at Shengmo knew that something big had happened in the Chu Family recently, putting President Chu in a seriously foul mood.
And that major incident was—
The Omega of the Chu Family, Chu Yun, was about to graduate from university. In order to find him a suitable match for marriage, the Chu Family arranged a pheromone compatibility test for him.
But the result shocked everyone—Chu Yun had a 100% compatibility rate with four different Alphas!
In ABO physiology, a 100% match rate is known as a perfect match—something many people dream of achieving.
This should’ve been a happy occasion, a sign that the prestigious Chu Family could find a flawless Alpha husband for their Omega son.
However, all four of the Alphas who matched 100% with Chu Yun… were from way lower backgrounds.
Chu Yun was the Chu Family’s little treasure, spoiled since childhood by his three Alpha brothers. Among them, the one who doted on him the most was the eldest brother, Chu Mo—the designated future heir of Chu Group.
As someone with a severe case of younger brother obsession, Chu Mo couldn’t stand those four unknown, poor Alphas one bit.
Just thinking about his precious little brother being a perfect match with those nobodies was enough to send his blood pressure through the roof.
“Meeting’s over,” Chu Mo said coldly, face like a thundercloud as he announced the end of the meeting, then stormed out of the conference room without so much as a backward glance.
Only then did everyone finally let out a breath of relief and start whispering among themselves.
“Honestly, even when the board tried to impeach President Chu, he wasn’t this pissed.”
“Can you blame him? Our President Chu spoils the young master like crazy—of course he can’t accept something like this.”
“President Chu’s like the ‘Alpha nemesis’—he’s hot, rich, and his pheromones are insanely strong. No way he wants the young master ending up with some Alpha worse than him.”
“Still… people these days are all about ABO freedom to love who you want…”
Chu Mo ignored all the murmuring behind him and marched straight back to the president’s office.
His secretary, Li Shuo, followed right on his heels, carrying a cup of the boss’s favorite espresso. “President Chu, your health comes first, please don’t stay upset. I’m sure the young master won’t fall for any of those Alphas…”
Chu Mo took a small sip of the coffee, then slammed the cup down hard on the table, expression icy cold.
Li Shuo instantly lowered his head and didn’t dare say another word.
From an angle Li Shuo couldn’t see, the corners of Chu Mo’s lips lifted ever so slightly—for just one second.
Chu Mo was a transmigrator. The Transmigration Bureau had assigned him a mission—to follow the original novel’s plotline to the very end.
He’d been in this world for twenty-seven years. Now that the main storyline was finally kicking off, he was pretty darn satisfied with his acting skills.
This world was set in an ABO novel titled [After Being a Perfect Match With Four Alphas].
The main character shou was a wealthy family’s Omega, Chu Yun. He had a 100% compatibility rate with four Alphas, all of whom fell head over heels in love with him.
Every chapter of the novel was a full-on love triangle war zone, with the main gong and the side gongs constantly fighting over him.
On top of that, Chu Yun had several doting Alpha older brothers, each one treating him like a precious little gem in the palm of their hand.
And the most obsessed of them all was none other than the domineering CEO big bro—Chu Mo.
In the early stages of the novel, Chu Mo was set up as the “Alpha public enemy.” Not only was he super handsome, filthy rich, and insanely capable, but his pheromones were also ridiculously powerful.
As a devoted bro-con, Chu Mo couldn’t stand the Alphas buzzing around his little brother. He used every trick in the book to block them from getting close. His signature lines?
“You think you’re worthy of my brother?”
“So what if your compatibility is high? Does your family have money?”
“Don’t even think about having delusions about my brother!”
Eventually, after being ruthlessly put down by Chu Mo, those Alphas all turned into big-shot bosses, slapped him in the face with their success, and fell even harder for Chu Yun.
Chu Mo’s whole purpose in the early story was to act as the “Alpha enemy”—someone for the other Alphas to surpass and grow from, a stepping stone for their character development.
But after transmigrating into the book, Chu Mo ended up differentiating as an Omega when he turned eighteen.
To smoothly carry out his mission, Chu Mo began injecting inhibitors right after his differentiation and started playing the role of the “Alpha public enemy.”
He endured the side effects of pheromone instability from the inhibitors, gritted his teeth, and got into a top university with only a 1% acceptance rate.
After graduating, Chu Mo founded Shengmo Internet Tech Company with his own two hands and, in just a few years, brought it into the ranks of the nation’s top 500 companies.
He hid his true gender and faked being an Alpha for nine whole years, successfully earning the title of “Alpha public enemy” in everyone’s eyes.
Everything was going according to the original story, and now, at age twenty-seven, the main plot was finally in motion.
In the novel, Xie Songchen was the main gong. He had been Chu Yun’s classmate in both high school and college, secretly in love with him for years. In their senior year, he entered Chu Mo’s company as an intern.
After the compatibility test revealed that he was a perfect match with Chu Yun, Chu Mo started messing with him constantly, trying every method to get him fired—but Xie Songchen smacked him back every time with his excellent work performance.
Under Chu Mo’s pressure, Xie Songchen leveled up fast. Later, he left Shengmo, started his own company, and in no time, devoured Shengmo’s market, forcing Chu Mo into a dead end.
In the end, Chu Mo had no choice but to personally visit Xie Songchen and beg for mercy for the sake of his brother.
And Xie Songchen, now a brand-new domineering CEO, announced his engagement to Chu Yun in the spotlight, receiving blessings from everyone.
Yep—classic satisfying web novel vibes.
Chu Mo hoped the story would finish smoothly so he could return to his original world and be done with the endless headaches of pretending to be an Alpha while actually being an Omega.
Right now, his goal was to help Xie Songchen grow, land a big international deal, and become a core figure in the company.
Three months from now, Xie Songchen would confess to Chu Yun at his birthday banquet as the business manager.
By then, the love battlefield would be in full swing.
Step one to making this happen? Ruthlessly humiliate the still-just-an-intern Xie Songchen.
“Within ten minutes, I want every piece of info you can find on that intern named Xie Songchen,” Chu Mo ordered coldly, having mentally run through the plot. “And tell me where he is right now.”
Li Shuo had long expected Chu Mo to target Xie Songchen, so he had already looked up his details ahead of time.
He immediately placed a file on Chu Mo’s desk and answered, “He’s in the business department.”
“Tell him to come see me,” Chu Mo said with a sharp tone, picking up the file.
Li Shuo quickly followed orders and sent a message to the business director.
The business director had been walking on eggshells the past couple of days.
On one hand, the business director knew that President Chu disliked the intern under him, Xie Songchen, and was hesitating—should he fire the guy to show loyalty? On the other hand, Xie Songchen was a top student from a prestigious university, an outstanding talent—it’d be a real shame to let someone like him go.
After receiving the message from the chief secretary, the business director finally gave up hope. He knew for sure—Xie Songchen was definitely getting axed.
So, with a heavy sigh, he opened the office software and sent a short message to [Business – Intern – Xie Songchen].
[President Chu wants to see you……]
Those six little dots were full of sympathy.
⸻
Ten minutes later.
A chime sounded at the door of the president’s office.
Chu Mo straightened his collar, cleared his throat, and lowered his voice. “Come in.”
The door opened, and in walked a tall guy wearing a loose grey hoodie and jeans. Handsome, with a striking bone structure and a perfectly straight nose that somehow didn’t come across as harsh.
Hanging from his chest was a work badge from Shengmo’s business department. The badge itself was plain and a little tacky, but on him, it even looked kind of stylish.
After stepping in, the guy raised his long, narrow eyes. His monolids gave off a slightly sharp, aggressive vibe, but his fair, clean skin softened that intensity.
According to the original novel, Xie Songchen was a top-tier Alpha, with incredibly strong pheromones.
The moment Chu Mo laid eyes on him, his instincts instantly picked up a faint sense of danger.
Xie Songchen came to a stop exactly one meter away from Chu Mo. His face showed none of the nervousness others usually had when facing President Chu.
He looked straight at him and lightly parted his thin lips.
“You wanted to see me?”
His tone was calm, as if he had no idea what was going on.
Chu Mo thought to himself, As expected of the novel’s main gong—the aura’s definitely there.
Flipping through the file in his hand, Chu Mo realized just how overqualified this intern was for Shengmo.
Xie Songchen was a top student from a top university’s computer science department. He’d won national awards every year, participated in major projects, and even appeared on a workplace reality show, gaining quite a fanbase thanks to his good looks.
And yet, this golden boy had chosen to quietly join Shengmo just a few months ago.
Although Shengmo had been performing well the past two years, it was still a newcomer in the internet world, not exactly solid in its foundations.
Someone like Xie Songchen could’ve easily gone to one of the big-name tech giants that were dominating the industry.
The weirdest part? He could’ve landed a high-paying tech position, but instead chose a lower-paying role in the business department.
Others might find that puzzling, but Chu Mo, being a transmigrator, knew exactly why.
Xie Songchen did it just to get close to Chu Yun. He picked the business role because it was more flexible and often required fieldwork—which gave him more chances to see Chu Yun.
“Don’t be nervous, I just have a few questions for you,” Chu Mo said, crossing his legs with a faint smile that didn’t reach his eyes, his gaze brimming with hostility. “First question—why did you come to Shengmo?”
Xie Songchen was silent for a moment, as if genuinely thinking it over.
Then he answered, “Because I wanted to.”
“Very good,” Chu Mo raised an eyebrow and continued, “Second question—did you come to Shengmo because of the company’s perks, or because of someone in particular?”
At that, Xie Songchen’s thin lips pressed into a line.
Just when Chu Mo thought he wouldn’t answer, Xie Songchen suddenly spoke.
“Because of someone.”
Chu Mo froze.
He hadn’t expected Xie Songchen to answer so bluntly, showing zero hesitation when it came to his feelings for Chu Yun.
In the original novel, Xie Songchen had been secretly in love with Chu Yun since high school. He applied to the same university as Chu Yun during college entrance exams, and in their senior year, he even joined Chu Mo’s company for an internship—all for Chu Yun.
Xie Songchen had always been striving and working hard for Chu Yun, silently giving everything he had. He was, without a doubt, the most devoted Alpha in the entire story.
“Looks like you already know what I came here to say,” Chu Mo sneered, his tone laced with mockery. “Then I’ll just be blunt. You and my brother? Never gonna happen.”
Xie Songchen stared at Chu Mo calmly, as if he didn’t take his words seriously at all.
“So what if your compatibility is 100%? You think you’re good enough for my brother?” Chu Mo kept up the sarcasm. “You’re just a broke, powerless intern. My advice? Stop dreaming about an Omega from the Chu Family.”
Xie Songchen looked at Chu Mo, and after a moment, he asked, “So, are you firing me?”
Of course Chu Mo wasn’t going to fire Xie Songchen—how could the plot move forward if the main gong got kicked out?
“Fire you?” Chu Mo let out a cold laugh. “News about you and Chu Yun having a 100% match has already spread all over H City. If I fire you now, won’t it look like I’m abusing my power as the president?”
A flicker of surprise passed through Xie Songchen’s eyes.
He’d already prepared himself for being fired—he didn’t expect Chu Mo to say that.
Chu Mo stood up. He was half a head shorter than Xie Songchen. Dressed sharply in a tailored suit, he contrasted sharply with Xie Songchen’s loose hoodie, but in terms of presence, he wasn’t losing at all.
“You joined Shengmo just to get close to my brother, didn’t you?” Chu Mo stared at Xie Songchen, speaking word by word, “If that’s the case, then I’ll grant your wish.”
As he spoke, Chu Mo threw a contract in front of Xie Songchen.
It was a transfer agreement.
The new position was… secretary to the president.
Xie Songchen blinked when he saw the document.
This was the part in the novel where Chu Mo deliberately tried to humiliate Xie Songchen.
The role of a president’s secretary was usually taken by Betas or Omegas.
In the ABO setting, Alphas were typically rivals to other Alphas.
Making one Alpha serve another Alpha as a secretary? Yeah, that was a serious slap in the face.
Especially when Xie Songchen was a prideful Alpha with a strong sense of dignity.
In the original, Xie Songchen had felt deeply humiliated and angrily rejected Chu Mo.
That was also the turning point where he made up his mind to one day take revenge on Chu Mo.
Chu Mo sat there, cool as ever, waiting for the dramatic outburst he was sure would come.
As expected, when he saw the transfer agreement, a flicker of surprise flashed through Xie Songchen’s otherwise calm eyes. The next second, he reached out and picked up the document to read through it.
He lowered his long, narrow eyes slightly, his brows furrowed, and studied the agreement for a long time with serious focus.
“What? Feeling ashamed now?” Chu Mo said the line with a sneer, eyes filled with pity as he looked at Xie Songchen. “Just because you’re an Alpha, you think you can’t be a secretary? In that case, I suggest you—”
Before he could finish, Xie Songchen lifted his eyelids slightly and interrupted him, “When?”
His face was expressionless, tone steady and unbothered.
“…Huh?” Chu Mo was stunned for a second. “When what?”
“Becoming your secretary,” Xie Songchen looked him straight in the eyes and repeated, calm as ever, “When do I start?”
Chu Mo froze on the spot, eyes wide, completely in disbelief.
