‘Transmigrated Directly to the Possessive Male Lead and Make Him Fall Harder to me Chapter 14

Chapter 14: Hubby is Too Strong, Too Afraid to Go Home

Back at the Mansion, Qin Mohuai plunged into the study, leaving no time for sweet nothings with Xia Yuan.

All the unfinished business from the day piled up for the night.

Xia Yuan took a comfortable bath, dried her hair, and went to sleep.

If it weren’t for Qin Mohuai’s insistence, she would be too lazy to use hair oil or body lotion.

In the spacious, dimly lit master bedroom, only a bedside lamp was on, casting a warm yellow glow over the young girl with delicate snow-white n cheeks. Her white, even arms rested on the silk blanket, looking very obedient.

Qin Mohuai tiptoed into the room and felt a sense of comfort seeing this scene.

Then he lost his composure.

The tall, handsome man lifted the blanket, picked up her soft, plump bottom with one hand, and supported her snow-white neck with the other.

Xia Yuan wasn’t sleeping very deeply. She opened her drowsy, beautiful eyes, kissed Qin Mohuai on the lips, and went back to sleep.

She had accumulated quite a bit of affection value with these drowsy little gestures, showing that Qin Mohuai was quite fond of them. Even though it no longer increased affection, she had developed a habit that was hard to break.

Qin Mohuai’s eyes were deep. His hoarse, passionate voice shocked even himself as he said, “Baby.”

In the bathroom.

Xia Yuan twisted her slender body in vain. Since confirming their relationship, her body had become stiff and unresponsive, even unable to dodge.

Moreover, her body was both thin and soft, leaving ten finger marks every time the man gripped her tightly.

Xia Yuan sniffled softly, “I’ve already taken a bath.”

Qin Mohuai’s eyes were calm. His low, hoarse voice agreed, “I smelled the fragrance on you when I held you earlier. Baby, you’ve taken a bath.”

“You can’t take another bath after bathing at night! It’s like how no one can touch your ears when you’re cleaning them!”

“There’s no such rule.”

Qin Mohuai gently kissed her, but his palm pressed firmly on her slender body. Was she trying to challenge his self-control?

Xia Yuan pouted, wondering how to tell Qin Mohuai that she was like an iron tree now.

No matter how much effort he put into nurturing, it was impossible for her to bear fruit.

She couldn’t tell Qin Mohuai the truth. What if he turned to other women? Xia Yuan stopped crying, feeling like a seductive fox spirit, and tried to cling to the man, hoping to find a better solution.

When his wife took the initiative, Qin Mohuai went a little crazy.

His body was like a bow drawn to its fullest, ready to pounce, fierce and unrestrained.

If someone didn’t know better, they might think a bandit leader had entered a humble home, seeing the delicate girl in a pink belly band. All techniques and tenderness were forgotten, leaving only raw strength, as fierce as any brutal bandit.

Xia Yuan thought, if she were pregnant, Qin Mohuai wouldn’t be able to touch her.

She’d ruin Qin Mohuai’s meal and make him ‘sunbathe’ in the air!

Just thinking about it made her feel great.

If a crazed Qin Mohuai knew what his wife was thinking, he’d probably be silent for three seconds, then go into a frenzy of praising his wife for coming up with such a ‘devious’ method to deal with him.

At the same time, he’d be even more anxious to hide his silly wife, afraid that those bad dogs would seduce his naïve wife away.

When Xia Yuan woke up, Qin Mohuai was already gone.

She had read novels where the leads were constantly pulling each other to extremes, tormenting each other, as if they had nothing else to do.

But Xia Yuan realized that as long as she went along with the crazy male lead, she actually had quite a bit of freedom, as long as she had bodyguards with her wherever she went.

Of course, Xia Yuan wasn’t used to having bodyguards at first, feeling like she was being watched.

However, since being harassed in the mall and followed in the old district where the Xia family lived, Xia Yuan wasn’t as resistant to bodyguards anymore. Freedom is valuable, but life is worth more!

On the second floor.

Cuddled in the lazy sofa, Xia Yuan wore headphones, leisurely typing on her keyboard to write a paper. After receiving a call from her mother, she decided to go home for a visit.

Butler Wang: “Miss, are you coming home for lunch?”

Xia Yuan casually said, “I’m not coming back; he isn’t home for lunch anyway.”

So when Butler Wang received a call from Qin Mohuai, he relayed Xia Yuan’s message verbatim.

Qin Mohuai pinched the bridge of his nose, a hint of guilt in his eyes. “I shouldn’t have left her alone at the estate. I’ve been busy all day and haven’t spent much time with her.”

Butler Wang said, “Xia Yuan either sleeps or sits by the window writing papers every day. I also feel that she is lonely.”

Qin Mohuai felt even more distressed.

After hanging up, he called in Secretary Cao.

Secretary Cao asked, “Mr. Qin, do you have anything?”

Qin Mohuai asked, “I remember Christie’s has a jewelry auction coming up?”

Secretary Cao confirmed, “Yes, it’s tomorrow.”

He retrieved the catalog that Christie’s had sent over and handed it to Qin Mohuai.

The man’s slender, elegant fingers flipped through the colorful jewelry catalog. Within a few minutes, he selected a 145-carat pink diamond ring.

The estimated value was worth 2.3 billion.

“Buy it.”

Secretary Cao replied, “Yes, Mr. Qin.”

This ring would be perfect for an engagement—both in terms of price and style, it was impressive. No woman would dislike it.

It was uncertain whether Mr. Qin was buying it to please Xia Yuan or to propose to Miss Ouyang.

Liang Bo was detained at the police station. Although his life was not in danger, he was exhausted, and Sun Wenhui was desperately seeking help for her husband.

However, when people heard that Liang Bo had offended the Zhou family, they were too afraid to help.

With no other options, Sun Wenhui went to Liang Min and begged her.

When the toy factory was almost unable to operate, Liang Min had mobilized relatives and neighbors to help the factory through the crisis.

When Master Li, a skilled technician, went on strike to join a higher-paying factory, it seemed the toy factory was about to close. Liang Min intervened and persuaded Master Li to stay because she had helped his wife.

Liang Min had reflected a lot recently. If she hadn’t helped Liang Bo with the factory, he might not have become so corrupt; he would have just been lazy.

If she hadn’t persuaded Master Li to stay, he might have found a better-paying job and a better life now.

Hearing Sun Wenhui describe Liang Bo’s plight at the police station, Liang Min couldn’t remain indifferent, but she couldn’t tolerate Liang Bo ruining her daughter’s reputation.

Though her brother was important, her daughter was more so.

Every time something happened to the Liang family, as long as they cried and begged in front of Liang Min, she would compromise and help.

Seeing Liang Min unmoved, Sun Wenhui criticized her for being cold-hearted and indifferent to her own brother’s plight.

Liang Min didn’t want to involve Xia Yuan and simply said, “What can I do, I am just an ordinary citizen? If Liang Bo didn’t commit murder, arson, or financial fraud, he’ll be out in a few months at most.”

Sun Wenhui screeched, “That’s not acceptable! If Liang Bo has a criminal record, my child won’t be able to join the civil service!”

She was from Shancheng, with her parents and siblings all working as civil servants. Because she couldn’t pass the civil service exam, she married into Xiangzhou. Her son had good grades and would surely want to join the civil service. If Liang Bo had a criminal record, it would ruin her son’s future prospects, which she could not accept.

Liang Min sighed inwardly, “What’s the use of talking to me? Go talk to the police.”

After sending off the agitated Sun Wenhui, Liang Min opened her daughter’s room.

She wanted Xia Yuan to come home partly to show her attitude toward the Liang family and partly to warn her daughter not to have any further contact with the Liang family, and ideally, not to answer their calls.

Xia Yuan asked, puzzled, “If we can’t help Liang Bo, the Liang family shouldn’t come asking for help again.”

Liang Min sneered, “I don’t understand those people. If their lives aren’t going well, they won’t let others lives in peace either.”

She spoke prophetically.

As the sun set, Xia Yuan didn’t return directly to Mansion but went to the nearby Qingzhu Lake.

Originally intended to be part of Mansion, the lake was opened to the public since the mansion already had its own lake.

Xia Yuan sat in a quiet spot, enjoying the rare tranquility.

A tall and handsome man walked through the dappled light and shadow to Xia Yuan’s side. The fading sunlight cast a radiant glow in his eyes, reflecting a chilling aura.

Qin Mohuai’s voice was obscure, “What are you doing hiding here? Why didn’t you go home?”

Xia Yuan’s pale wrist wore a Patek Philippe watch, a modified tracking watch, showing no intention of running away.

But her red lips were pursed, her delicate brows furrowed. She looked both tender and serene, which made Qin Mohuai’s heart soften.

The man, with an aloof and noble demeanor, crouched down to meet her gaze effortlessly, speaking in a low, magnetic voice to coax her.

Xia Yuan was momentarily enchanted by his dark yet gentle charm and obediently explained why she wasn’t going home.

Her husband was too powerful, and she was afraid to go back.
