Chapter 18: Expose Her
Qian Xiaolan recalled the plot of the original book. Wang Jinhua, from a simple, abused, and rejected little nobody, transformed into the heroine who every man loved. It seemed that besides stealing the original owner’s ring, it was also related to a precognitive dream she had. So, had she already had the dream and knew the future achievements of these men? Qian Xiaolan thought about it for a while, but she couldn’t remember the plot of Qian Rongsheng’s family returning to the city. She shook her head and stopped thinking about it. Not far away, Wang Jinhua had stopped her relentless pursuit of Qian Rongsheng and was now squatting on the ground, hugging her knees and sobbing softly. “I know you must think of me the same way as everyone else in the village, that I killed my fiancĂ©. If that’s the case, then go. I won’t bother you anymore.
I was wrong, really wrong. I thought you were an intellectual and wouldn’t believe in those feudal superstitions. I didn’t expect you to be the same as them. Wuwuwu…” Qian Rongsheng opened his mouth to refute, but if he did, wouldn’t it be like agreeing to marry her? He helplessly looked up at the tree where Qian Xiaolan was hiding, hoping she would speak up and help him out. Qian Xiaolan didn’t disappoint him. She coughed lightly and said in a teasing male voice, “Yo! Isn’t these one of the two wild lovers from yesterday in the mountains? Did the intellectual from yesterday not satisfy you, so you found a new target? Tsk tsk, your technique yesterday made me drool.
Your taste is really bad. What’s so good about this skinny, bad-looking girl? Why don’t we play together? I guarantee I can make you stay in bed for three days, hahaha!” Wang Jinhua’s face changed drastically. She looked up at the tree where Qian Xiaolan was hiding and shouted, “Who are you? What are you talking about? I warn you, don’t slander me!” Qian Xiaolan sneered, “Slander you? Why don’t you take off your clothes and see if there are any marks left by the intellectual from yesterday on your chest?” Qian Rongsheng was stunned. He subconsciously turned to look at Wang Jinhua’s chest. Wang Jinhua was both embarrassed and ashamed. She blushed and glared at Qian Rongsheng, arguing, “He’s lying. I didn’t.” “Heh, it’s fine if you don’t take off your clothes.
Your mother might have already found a man’s clothes under your pillow. You should think about how a girl like you would have a man’s clothes under her pillow.” Fortunately, she had been foresighted. Before going to work today, she had gone to Wang Jinhua’s house and put Chen Zhiming’s clothes under her pillow. Wang Jinhua’s mother was not the kind of person who would keep her mouth shut for the sake of her daughter’s reputation. Wang Jinhua thought of Chen Zhiming’s missing shirt from yesterday and panicked completely. She ran home.
Qian Xiaolan’s laughter followed her until she could no longer hear it. She was really annoyed. Qian Rongsheng had clearly been moved just now, and she was almost successful. She didn’t know how this unexpected obstacle appeared out of nowhere. Qian Xiaolan climbed down from the tree and met Qian Rongsheng’s speechless gaze. She felt a little shy and looked away, explaining, “I didn’t intentionally peek at them. They were the ones who were being careless and having wild sex in the mountains.” Qian Rongsheng sighed and blushed, “That’s not what I meant. I meant, how could a girl like you say those things?” Qian Xiaolan shrugged nonchalantly, “I can’t help it. Sun Honghua often uses those dirty words to scold people. I’ve lived with her for six years.
It’s hard not to learn.” Qian Rongsheng felt sorry for her. He reached out to touch her head, but then thought it was inappropriate and awkwardly put his hand back on his head and scratched it. “Thank you, Xiaolan, for today. It’s getting hotter and hotter. You should go back.” Qian Xiaolan waved to him and turned to go home. Later, it was heard that Wang Jinhua’s mother found a man’s shirt under her pillow. Thinking of Chen Zhiming’s missing shirt that day, Wang Jinhua’s mother looked at her daughter differently. She first yelled at Wang Jinhua, but then thought it was wrong. Without saying anything, she stripped Wang Jinhua’s clothes off. Now, Wang Jinhua was covered in evidence of her promiscuity. Wang Jinhua’s mother was furious and beat her up.
Although Wang Jinhua kept denying that the man was Chen Zhiming, her mother didn’t believe her at all. She went to the intellectual’s quarters to make a scene several times. Finally, under pressure from public opinion, Chen Zhiming reluctantly married Wang Jinhua. This incident completely solved Qian Rongsheng’s problem and extinguished Chen Zhiming’s unfulfilled scheme. From then on, Qian Rongsheng was even nicer to Qian Xiaolan, so nice that she felt like he was not only grateful to her but also trying to compensate her. Qian Xiaolan’s eyes flickered, but she didn’t dwell on it. After all, he didn’t have any romantic feelings for her, and her grandfather and the others didn’t stop him, so she let it be. Of course, these were all later events.
That night, Qian Xiaolan was reading in the space and was about to go to sleep when she heard faint footsteps outside the courtyard. She frowned, turned on the space surveillance she had discovered these past two days, and saw two figures outside her house, sneaking around and trying to climb the wall. Qian Xiaolan watched for a while and recognized them as Qian Changcai and Sun Honghua. She didn’t move and quietly watched Qian Changcai climb on top of Sun Honghua’s back and try to climb the wall.
“Ah!” Qian Changcai had just grabbed the wall when he screamed and fell from the wall. Sun Honghua was furious. She rushed forward and covered his mouth, “Are you trying to die? Why are you so loud? You want that little b*tch to hear you, don’t you? Are you hurt?” Qian Changcai slapped her hand away and stretched out his bloody hand in front of her. He gritted his teeth and said in a pale voice, “It’s broken! My hand is broken!”
“How could it be fine? My foot is sprained. And there’s glass all over the wall. Look at the stupid idea you came up with. You didn’t even bother to check before making me do it!” Sun Honghua was startled. She touched Qian Changcai’s hand and felt a warm spot. She cursed under her breath, “That little b*tch is a cunning fox. She’s so cautious. I curse her to be carried away by wolves from the mountains in the middle of the night. I told you before that she wasn’t as honest as she seemed. I told you to be careful, but you wouldn’t listen…”
“Alright, alright. It’s over. What’s the point of talking about it? Help me back!” Sun Honghua looked at the wall, unwillingly, “Are we just going to leave like this?” Qian Changcai slapped her. “You stinking woman, I’m injured. If you want to go, go yourself!” Sun Honghua covered her face and glared at Qian Changcai in resentment. She reluctantly helped him up. Just then, a bucket of hot water fell from the sky, drenching them both. They both jumped up in shock. In their panic, they heard a clinking sound falling nearby. Then, they didn’t know who tripped who, but they both fell to the side.
Then, along with two screams, Qian Xiaolan’s panicked shout rang out, “Help! There’s a thief! I caught two thieves!” The sound echoed far in the quiet night. The people from the mule shed and Gu Changshun’s house heard Qian Xiaolan’s voice one after the other. Their expressions changed, and they quickly put on their clothes and ran towards Qian Xiaolan’s house.
Before leaving, Hu Guifen also asked Gu Erhe to inform Gu Shengli and Gu Sanqing to knock on the neighbors’ doors and tell them about the thief in the village. Upon hearing this, the two families quickly followed them to Qian Xiaolan’s house to catch the thief. When a group of people arrived, Qian Changcai and Sun Honghua had already been tied up by Qian Rongsheng and Qian Laozi.
The injuries on their bodies made Qian Changcai and Sun Honghua hiss in pain. Even in this state, they didn’t stop cursing Qian Xiaolan and everyone in the mule shed.
