Chapter 155: No. 1 in the City

Luo Qiao wasn’t surprised at all because she had aimed to attend high school in the city. Without achieving significant academic results, she wouldn’t have the freedom to choose.

Luo Qiao invited Principal Qin and Teacher Ning to sit in the yard and went to the back to pick a watermelon, cutting it open to quench their thirst.

Principal Qin’s face lit up with a smile, “This time you’ve brought glory to the school and the county. The school, county, county education bureau, and even the city will have rewards for you, though it might take a few more days. Teacher Ning and I rushed over as soon as we heard the news, so we only brought the report card.”

After a while, the children who followed soon spread the news, and the villagers realized that Luo Qiao hadn’t been exaggerating about her academic achievements; her grades were indeed impressive.

When Principal Qin and Teacher Ning left, Luo Qiao personally brought them a watermelon. They politely declined but left happily after expressing their gratitude.

Luo Qiao thought about how she would soon be going to school in the city once classes started, so she couldn’t delay buying a house any longer. Living on campus wouldn’t be convenient for her.

In the evening, when Lu Yichen returned home carrying two pounds of spare ribs, he entered the yard and upon seeing her, he immediately said, “I heard your results were good.”

Luo Qiao asked, “How did you find out?”

Luo Qiao flipped her braid and grinned, “Alright, then let’s steam some rice and have the spare ribs stew.”

Seeing Luo Qiao’s bright smile, Lu Yichen’s heart swelled with the thought that this girl might become even more remarkable and dazzling in the future.

He casually asked Luo Qiao, “Your results are out. Are you planning to attend high school in the county or in the city?”
