Chapter 167: Stirring Up Trouble
Luo Tianming said, “Let’s not rush. We still don’t know exactly what happened, but it looks like we’ll have to spend money again.”
Tears filled Feng Hui’s eyes. “Tianming, we’ve let our son down. We can’t just ignore him now.”
Seeing his wife like this, Luo Tianming felt uneasy too. It was too late to say anything now; they could only try to guide him better in the future.
Half an hour later, they finally understood that today’s incident wouldn’t end well. Spending money seemed inevitable. Fortunately, since he was under eighteen years old, Luo Bin wouldn’t be sent to juvenile detention. However, the person injured in the hospital was hit by bricks thrown by Luo Bin.
Feng Hui, upon understanding this, felt her strength drain away and sat directly on the ground.
Now she was about to explode. The mother of the boy beaten by Luo Bin is the chairwoman of the labor union at Feng Hui’s factory. Originally, there was no connection between Luo Bin and this matter.
The thing just like this: Wang Sanqiang, a troublemaker who hangs out with Luo Bin, took a liking to a girl named Su Rui from a junior high school nearby. However, Su Rui wasn’t interested in him, and with school recently on break, Wang Sanqiang hadn’t seen her for several days.
He went to Su Rui’s neighborhood to confront people, but today Su Rui went out to play with classmates, coincidentally returning home with Geng Zhenyu, the son of Ning Bianfang, the chairman of the labor union at Feng Hui’s factory.
Wang Sanqiang got furious and, accompanied by Luo Bin and a few other troublemakers, rushed over to fight. As a result, Geng Zhenyu, whose mother is the chairwoman of the shoe factory union and whose father is the workshop director at the steel factory, is usually proud and arrogant.
Wang Sanqiang started off by insulting and attempting to hit people. Geng Zhenyu couldn’t tolerate it and threw a punch after just a few words. At that moment, two children from Geng Zhenyu’s aunt’s family happened to come over to deliver something.
Seeing their cousin being attacked, the two kids rushed in, resulting in a brawl. Geng Zhenyu’s uncle is a military man who occasionally teaches his two sons some martial arts.
The three brothers gave Wang Sanqiang and the others a thorough beating. However, Luo Bin, being a bit foolish, picked up a brick from the roadside and smashed it directly on Geng Zhenyu’s head.
Luo Tianming and his wife couldn’t care about waiting for other parents. The child in the hospital, whose mother is a leader at Feng Hui’s workplace and father is a workshop director at Luo Tianming’s workplace although not in his specific workshop, could cause serious trouble for them if they wanted to retaliate.
The couple couldn’t afford to care about their son anymore. They hurried home, grabbed money and coupons, bought what they needed, and headed straight to the hospital, fearing that any delay might cost them their jobs.
They were truly afraid. Having returned to the city not long ago and finally secured jobs through the neighborhood committee, they had just divided their family. Now they had to support a large family. If they lost their jobs, the entire family would be in dire straits.
When they arrived, Geng Zhenyu had just been wheeled out of the emergency room. The doctor said he had a concussion, and they would need to wait until he regained consciousness for further examination. They also mentioned he had lost a lot of blood and needed immediate replenishment.
At this moment, seeing Luo’s couple, Geng Zhenyu’s parents felt extremely uncomfortable inside. However, both were leaders in their respective workplaces, and their child was in trouble. It wasn’t appropriate to say anything harsh in public.
But their expressions were as unsightly as could be. Geng Zhenyu’s mother said, “You’ve seen the situation now. We don’t have the time or mood to discuss this further.
Let’s see how the police handle this. You can go back now; we have other matters to attend to.”
Luo Tianming followed up, saying, “Director Geng, let me stay and help. If there’s anything I can assist with, I’m willing to lend a hand.”
