Chapter 179: The Police Arrive

Sun Baoqing turned his head to glance at his tightly closed front gate, motioning for everyone to move aside. He ran back a bit and kicked open the gate, startling Kong Yuru who was picking vegetables in the kitchen.

Kong Yuru muttered, “I was just looking for where the scar removal gel was.”

Sun Baoqing walked to the gate and saw Lu Yichen returning to the village with three police officers, heading straight to his own house without coming towards Sun’s house.

Sun Baoqing turned to Kong Yuru and said, “Whatever you took from him, return it immediately.”

After saying this, he turned and walked towards the courtyard gate, saying to his younger sister-in-law standing nearby, “Watch her closely. If she tries to escape, you won’t get away from this.”

After that, he walked towards Lu Yichen’s house himself. He needed to personally ensure nothing went wrong.

When he arrived, the police were collecting evidence. They removed several threads from the jagged edge of the door frame. After the initial inspection, they asked Lu Yichen to check if anything was missing from the house.

Lu Yichen searched a few places and said, “I lost 300 yuan and a jade pendant.”

Now, the villagers watching outside were no longer calm. Sun Baoqing was sweating with fear. If this turned out to be true, Kong Yuru could face imprisonment.
