Chapter 44: The Blood Types Do Not Match
After the nurse drew blood, she came out shortly and said, “I’m sorry, your blood type does not match the patient’s, so you cannot donate. Do you have any other family members available?”
Ning Xueling was now almost unable to stand due to fright and said, “They are on their way here. What blood type is my daughter?”
The nurse replied, “The patient has AB blood type.”
Ning Xueling murmured softly upon hearing this, “How could she be AB type? Nurse, are you sure you’re not mistaken?”
The nurse carefully checked the paperwork again and said, “No mistake, the patient is AB blood type, while yours is type A.”
Upon hearing the young nurse’s words, Ning Xueling’s head buzzed and she nearly fainted. Thinking she was worried about her daughter, the nurse kindly said, “You don’t need to worry. We have AB blood in our blood bank. I’ll go get it right away.”
The nurse turned and left after speaking. Ning Xueling didn’t catch what the nurse said clearly. She leaned against the wall and struggled to walk back outside the operating room.
Her mind was filled with thoughts of the nurse saying AB blood type. How could this be possible? She was type A, and her husband was type O. How could they have a daughter with AB blood type? Where did things go wrong?
Ning Xueling’s palms were sweaty from nervousness. She had always taken care of her child herself. How could it not be her own daughter? If it wasn’t her daughter, then where was her real daughter?
The relationship with her mother-in-law had been unsolvable due to the issues with their two sons. Now, if her mother-in-law were to find out that she was taking care of a child who wasn’t actually from the Luo family, Ning Xueling couldn’t bear to think about it—it would be a terrifying situation.
But if they couldn’t find the reason behind this, it might not just be a matter of the child not being from the Luo family. She knew if the child truly had AB blood type, then she definitely wasn’t her own daughter.
However, the Luo family probably wouldn’t think like that. She had indeed given birth to her daughter in the hospital. If the Luo family started making a fuss about this, what would she do?
No, she couldn’t let anyone know about this until she investigated thoroughly.
So she forced herself to remain calm and found a chair outside the operating room to sit down, thinking about what to do next and how to investigate this matter.
With such a big issue at hand, she couldn’t tell her family yet. Her head felt like it was about to explode. She hurriedly pressed her temples with her hands to ease the tension.
She stared at the door of the operating room, contemplating how she would face Jianing in the future. Just then, Luo Haotian and his younger son Luo Siyuan hurriedly rushed over.
Luo Haotian anxiously asked, “Xueling, what happened exactly? How did Jianing get injured?”
Ning Xueling replied, “I’m not entirely sure. Today, I took her back to my mother’s house. I’m not clear on what happened between Jianing and Lingyu. By the time I came out, Jianing had already fallen down the stairs.”
She didn’t dare to mention what Jianing said before she fainted—that it was Lingyu who pushed her. She feared Haotian might develop hostility towards her family.
At that moment, the nurse arrived with the blood. Seeing more people around Ning Xueling, she said, “We’ve already retrieved blood from the blood bank…”
Ning Xueling, afraid the nurse might say something inappropriate, hurriedly interjected, “Saving my daughter is urgent. Please hurry and transfuse it to her.”
Seeing the family members had no objections, the nurse quickly entered the operating room. Initially, she intended to explain that once blood was taken out of the bank, it couldn’t be returned.
Fortunately, the patient’s family understood the situation and didn’t make things difficult for her.
As for Ning Lingyu, she was still pretending to be innocent in her bedroom. She really couldn’t believe Jianing would be so reckless, willing to use her own body as a bet to frame someone just for Qiu Shaoyang.
