Chapter 155: His Weakness
“Mother…” Di Li tried to persuade Concubine Hui.
“You are simply unreasonable!” The tyrant was so angry that his brow was twitching.
Concubine Hui, laughing through her tears, sat down on the floor and wiped her tears. “Your Majesty, I am at fault.”
She knelt and gave a deep bow.
She didn’t beg for mercy or cry out; she only admitted to her infidelity.
The tyrant looked at Concubine Hui with a calm gaze. “Since Di Li is here today, Concubine Hui, I’m giving you a chance to clarify everything.”
“A chance?”
“You think I’m angry because of your infidelity? Hmph, Concubine Hui, if you still care about your relationship with Di Li, then reveal Di Li’s background.”
“Your Majesty was angry not because of me, but because of Di Li!” Concubine Hui’s face suddenly twisted with malice.
The tyrant’s eyes grew dark. “You may do as you please, but Di Li is innocent. He should not have his life ruined because of your ambition and selfishness!”
Di Li was his son.
No matter how bad Concubine Hui was, he would not allow her to drag Di Li down.
“Hahaha, so that’s how it is. Your Majesty, why are you so cruel to me? Knowing Di Li’s background, you’d rather worry about a son with no blood relation to you, yet you don’t care about me?”
The tyrant’s gaze was icy. “Bring Madam Xu to me!”
Concubine Hui was flustered.
She didn’t know when the Emperor had learned about this.
The Emperor didn’t ask her about Feng Sheng but specifically questioned Di Li’s matter.
Di Li’s face was already dark with anger.
The tyrant looked at him coldly. “Di Li, come here.”
“Father… Father.”
“If you want to hear this matter, stay here; if not, I’ll have someone send you back.”
Di Li struggled internally and finally nodded. “I’ll stay here.”
“Hmm, you’re older now and should learn to bear responsibilities.”
Di Li would learn about his background sooner or later.
The tyrant had considered keeping it from Di Li, but upon reflection, could he really keep it from him for a lifetime?
Learning to bear responsibility might not be a bad thing for his future growth.
Madam Xu was soon brought in.
In the dead of night, she knew things were serious.
But she hadn’t expected that as the year-end approached, the Emperor would investigate the Third Prince’s background.
In Qingyun Palace, all the maids and servants had been dismissed, leaving only a few guards and Feng Zhuo.
The tyrant, in a high position, radiated fury. “Where should we start with this matter?”
Everyone trembled, facing the Emperor’s anger.
His gaze, like a blade, fell on Feng Sheng, who was bare-chested and in a pitiful state.
“People from the Feng Kingdom have infiltrated the Tiansheng Dynasty, and you dare to think of yourself as a prince?”
Feng Sheng, kneeling on the ground, gave a miserable, bewildered laugh. “How do you know who I am?”
He thought he had disguised himself well.
At least he had worn a mask for years and never used his real name to make friends.
“What I know is beyond your expectations.” The tyrant coldly smirked. Even if you’re from the heavens, you have to be stripped bare in front of Ah Bao.
Moreover, you’re just a small prince from the Feng Kingdom. Did you really think your identity was well-hidden?
Feng Sheng’s mask was removed.
There was a birthmark on his right cheek.
Di Li was shocked, his pupils dilating. “Feng Batian?”
Uh…
The bully Feng Batian on Mount Taibai had been recruited by the Seventh Prince.
【Little Tian Tian is currently suppressing the rebellion in Lingnan. He is not Feng Batian! He’s actually Feng Batian’s uncle, but he looks very similar to Feng Batian.】
【Usually, he used Feng Batian’s name to commit crimes, and all the blame was placed on Feng Batian.】
【No wonder I thought Feng Sheng’s portrait looked strange before. How could he look just like Feng Batian?】
The tyrant: “…”
He knew it. No matter who Feng Sheng was, if he met Ah Bao, he would strip him down to nothing.
Di Li understood now.
So Feng Sheng was a cunning, deceitful scoundrel.
“I, Feng Batian, never change my name or my surname. I—”
“Enough, enough. Stop pretending. Who doesn’t know that Feng Batian is your nephew? Even your discarded nephew, you want to impersonate him. You’re really pathetic!” Di Li rolled his eyes.
Feng Sheng was bewildered. “I am Feng Batian!”
“Feng your uncle! This prince has met Feng Batian before.”
Feng Sheng: ?????
“How could I forget? Feng Batian must have been seen by Di Li in the Tiansheng Dynasty.”
Feng Sheng shrugged nonchalantly. “I didn’t expect the Tiansheng Dynasty to have such intelligence.”
Di Li replied, “You’re the dumbest and don’t even realize it.”
The tyrant wasn’t interested in wasting time with Feng Sheng. “Why Concubine Hui?”
Concubine Hui was somewhat confused.
But Feng Sheng understood and was momentarily panicked. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
【Father, this Feng Sheng is a stubborn one. You need to find his weak spot and use it against him!】
The tyrant smirked inwardly.
Don’t worry, daughter.
When it came to imperial power plays, he was adept at using tactics.
A broken blood jade was thrown on the ground with pinpoint accuracy, landing right in front of Feng Sheng.
“Do you understand what I’m saying now?”
When Feng Sheng saw the blood jade, his eyes nearly popped out. “My jade, my treasure…”
He glared at the tyrant, struggling against the two guards holding him down.
【Wow, Father knows Feng Sheng’s weakness is the blood jade.】
【Father not only knows but also obtained the blood jade. Feng Sheng treats it like his own eye.】
Ah Bao felt that her father suddenly seemed more impressive.
“How did you get my blood jade?” Feng Sheng shouted hoarsely.
The tyrant dismissed him with a sneer. “Do you really think a mask makes you invincible? You should know, you are on my territory. Even if it’s just a piece of jade or a few hairs on your body, if I want to know, someone will count them for me.”
Ah Bao: “…”
【My father! So handsome and powerful!】
Ah Bao giggled, breaking the silence.
The flattery was loud and clear.
The tyrant was thrilled. This was the first time Ah Bao had praised him so directly, and it made him very happy.
But his face remained solemn and authoritative, intimidating everyone.
From the moment he suspected the Third Prince’s background, he had secretly instructed people to monitor Concubine Hui’s every move.
Especially after Ah Bao was taken by Feng Sheng, Feng Sheng entered his field of vision.
In the past two months, though he seemed indifferent, he had never relaxed his vigilance on the matter.
He knew every detail—when Concubine Hui had affairs, when she left the palace to meet people, even how many times she and Feng Sheng used the restroom each day and how many meals they had. He was aware of it all.
Investigating Concubine Hui’s infidelity was straightforward.
But that wasn’t the tyrant’s ultimate goal.
He just wanted to lure out Feng Sheng and uncover Di Li’s background.
