Chapter 251: Saving the Sixth Prince
[The Eldest Brother and the Sixth Prince are there, they are in danger.]
[I haven’t seen the Sixth Prince for almost a year.]
The Sixth Prince, who had given her the golden wind bells during the New Year.
“Father, I want to go.” Ah Bao tugged at the Great Tyrant’s sleeve.
“Where to?”
“To Lingnan.” Ah Bao smiled, “I’m going to save the Sixth Prince.”
The little girl’s words shocked not only the Tiansheng Emperor but also the six ministers.
“The Lingnan epidemic has lasted quite some time and should be ending soon. How about this: I will personally go to the epidemic area to deal with it.” He couldn’t let Ah Bao go alone; it was too dangerous.
The six ministers all knelt in unison. “Your Majesty, please reconsider!”
The epidemic area was different from a battlefield; its danger was even more terrifying.
“I have made up my mind. This time, I will personally lead the expedition to Lingnan and bring the princess with me. With the princess as our lucky star, I believe we will see the light at the end of the tunnel in Lingnan.”
Seeing that the Tiansheng Emperor had made up his mind and was not to be persuaded otherwise, the ministers had no choice but to comply.
Ah Bao was very happy to be going to Lingnan and would soon see the Sixth Prince.
“Father, I want to go too.” Prince Seven requested. This was an opportunity for him to test himself. Although dangerous, he was not afraid.
He wanted to follow the example of the Sixth Prince. If the Sixth Prince could do it, so could he.
[Seventh Brother is going at the right time; he’s in great luck now, and will definitely be of great help in Lingnan.]
The Tiansheng Emperor hadn’t planned to take Prince Seven, but upon hearing Ah Bao’s thoughts, he said, “Alright, you prepare as well and come along.”
The journey from the capital to Lingnan was long, and with the suddenness of the situation, the Tiansheng Emperor brought a team of imperial doctors and soldiers and set out late at night.
“I’m going! Leng Qingliu, you’re here too?” On the carriage outside the palace, Prince Seven opened the curtain and saw Leng Qingliu had already been sitting inside.
“Hi, Seventh Prince, what a coincidence we meet again. It’s truly fate.” Leng Qingliu greeted Prince Seven. They had just had drinks the previous night and now found themselves in the same carriage. “Cough, cough, the little princess sent someone to inform me about the trip to Lingnan tonight. Seventh Prince, don’t look at me like that. Although I’m from the Feng Country, I’m not here to cause trouble. I’m here to find Prince Feng Batian.”
The little princess said that to achieve her goals, she must go to Lingnan.
He didn’t hesitate, bringing only the heavily injured twin-headed flood dragon and getting into the carriage.
The little princess was indeed the destined person of the Feng Country, able not only to help him nurture the Tree of Life but also to help him find Prince Feng Batian—simply miraculous.
Leng Qingliu now had immense admiration for the little princess.
As the carriage set off, Ah Bao and the Great Tyrant shared one carriage, and through the window, Ah Bao saw a carriage behind them filled with several boxes.
“Shh, Ah Bao, Daddy will tell you a secret. That carriage is filled with snacks just for you.” The Great Tyrant, feeling concerned that Ah Bao might not have enough to eat on the journey, was always cheered up by her happy smile.
In the Lingnan epidemic area, there were likely many children going without food or warm clothes. Thinking of this, he ordered an increase in their travel pace.
In the Yihe Palace.
“Concubine De, don’t worry. Ah Bao is with His Majesty and will be well taken care of,” Concubine Chun reassured.
Concubine De sighed, “When my child goes on a journey, I can’t help but worry.”
Even though she knew the Emperor would take good care of Ah Bao, she still couldn’t shake her concern.
“Besides, Ah Bao isn’t alone. She’ll have company and even let that boy gain some experience,” Concubine Chun murmured.
Concubine De didn’t catch everything, “You’re here, but where’s Rongjing? Isn’t he supposed to be with him for lessons today?”
Concubine Chun chuckled, “That boy isn’t here; he’s left the palace.”
“Ah?” Rongjing had never left the palace before except when he went with Ah Bao. He usually stayed within the palace for lessons.
Concubine Chun leaned in and whispered a few words in Concubine De’s ear. Concubine De was astonished, “Rongjing went to Lingnan too? How can you be at ease?”
“With Ah Bao there, I’m completely at ease.” Ah Bao was her goddess!
Since Rongjing had slightly changed, she had started to revere Ah Bao, who was truly thoughtful.
“And it’s not just Rongjing; there’s also the young master, who insisted on going along. Those three will definitely make a ruckus,” Concubine Chun said with a laugh, showing no worry.
Concubine De was speechless, rubbing her forehead, “I just hope Ah Bao doesn’t get into trouble.”
With one royal little ancestor, one mischievous little devil, and one scheming little prince, these three could probably cause quite a stir.
…
Three days later, the group arrived in Yue City.
After one more day of travel, they would reach Lingnan.
The Great Tyrant ordered them to rest in Yue City for the night and set off early the next morning.
Taking advantage of the night, Ah Bao happily went to the rear carriage to look for snacks. She hadn’t had any meat for two days and was craving it desperately.
She opened a box in the carriage, but it was empty.
Ah Bao opened another box. There were some snacks inside, but no roasted chicken legs.
“It was definitely in the box. Where did it go?” Ah Bao had counted ten big chicken legs when they first entered the carriage. She had counted five times, so she was sure she didn’t make a mistake.
Now, none were left!
Was it eaten by the dog?
She looked at the small black dog lying in the carriage, which was whining. Ah Bao picked up the dog’s bowl and sniffed it, “No meat smell, darn it! Where’s my meat?”
A box in the corner suddenly moved.
Ah Bao squinted. Was there a thief?
“Who’s the little thief stealing my meat!” Ah Bao marched over, lifted the box, and was about to strike when she saw two pairs of shiny eyes.
“Don’t hit, don’t hit, it’s me!”
Ah Bao recognized the voice, “Rong Yimeng?”
Rong Yimeng pulled away some clothes covering his head and stood up, then helped Prince Rongjing to his feet.
“Ninth Brother? Why are you two here?” Ah Bao frowned.
These two usually didn’t get along.
“Hehe, little sister Ah Bao, we came specially to play with you. You’re really not fair, going out to play without taking us along,” Rong Yimeng said with a grin.
Ah Bao gave him a sideways glance and pulled Prince Rongjing over, “Are we really that close?”
[We’re not close at all. I thought Rong Yimeng would hold a grudge from the last time he was beaten.]
[Ninth Brother doesn’t speak. He’s been with Rong Yimeng all the way. Did he get bullied? If Rong Yimeng dares to bully my brother, I’ll make sure he’s left searching for his teeth.]
Prince Rongjing shook his head, touched by the concern.
Ah Bao understood.
“Rong Yimeng, I didn’t bully Rongjing.” Rong Yimeng knew why Ah Bao was so hostile, “Rongjing and I are good now. We’ve resolved our previous issues.”
Children’s world is so easily reconciled.
Ah Bao huffed.
