Chapter 281: Who is the Ball for?
The Princess Han, with red, tear-streaked eyes, emerged with the help of maidservants, standing at the door, looking overjoyed.
“Mother…” Di Hongluan saw the Princess Han and opened her mouth to call out, but the word was barely out.
“Mother!” A figure dashed forward and hugged the Princess Han.
Di Hongluan was stunned!
The girl, dressed neatly, looked exactly like her!
Boom!!!
Di Hongluan stared at the reunited mother and daughter, as if struck by lightning.
Someone was impersonating her and calling her mother ‘Mother.’
And that person had just emerged from a nearby sedan chair.
Who was she?
Who?!!
At the entrance of the palace, ‘Di Hongluan’ was clinging to the Princess Han, crying loudly. Anyone who saw this touching scene would believe these were a real mother and daughter.
The Princess Han ordered the distribution of lucky money.
“Today, we have found the little princess, so let’s distribute some lucky money and bring good fortune to everyone.”
The Princess Han was usually stingy but was very generous with her own daughter.
The Princess Han led ‘Di Hongluan’ into the residence.
Di Hongluan was frantic. “I’m Di Hongluan, I’m the little princess, she’s the fake!”
Di Hongluan pushed forward recklessly, but the crowd was noisy, and everyone was scrambling for the lucky money, drowning out her voice.
Di Hongluan screamed desperately, but no one paid her any attention.
Finally, she pushed through the crowd, only to be stopped by the gatekeepers.
“I’m the little princess, I am!” Di Hongluan repeated anxiously. The Princess Han turned around and glared fiercely at Di Hongluan. “How dare this shameless little beggar come here? Throw her far away, don’t let me see her again!”
‘Di Hongluan’ smiled slightly. “Mother, don’t be angry. It’s not worth getting upset over those people.”
“My dear Luan’er, you must have suffered a lot these days. Mother has prepared breakfast for you herself.”
Bang!
Di Hongluan was roughly thrown by the gatekeepers, landing on the ground in a miserable state.
She stared fiercely at the entrance of the palace, wondering why this was happening.
Who was impersonating her?
Her body suddenly thrashed a few times as the evil spirit slowly left her body. “My injuries are finally healed, hahahaha. Your body is just too weak, it took me so long to recover. Your talent is so poor!”
“You don’t know, a superior, excellent body would heal me in just two days. You’re a useless waste!”
Di Hongluan’s eyes rolled back, nearly fainting from anger.
This person occupied her body and called her a waste?
The evil spirit, feeling pleased, turned to leave.
But just as he stood up, his body suddenly shivered. “Damn! The Summoning Song… again!”
He uncontrollably twisted in mid-air.
When he opened his eyes, he was already in a dilapidated temple in Lingnan.
The place was filled with eerie winds, and the evil spirit couldn’t help but shiver.
“This is hilarious. I’m going home, why should I be afraid?”
However, the Summoning Song he had heard made him involuntarily think of that little girl from Luo Zifeng’s dream.
That girl was too terrifying!
He never wanted to see her again in his lifetime!
But, this was Lingnan, and that girl was in Yue City. How could she possibly find him here?
Hahahahaha… hic.
The evil spirit was rejoicing when he suddenly saw a small figure sitting on the central offering table.
That chubby little face with two round puffs of hair, and the small creature leisurely eating peanuts, was none other than the little killing deity who nearly kicked him to oblivion before!!!
The evil spirit instantly felt numbness in his feet. Bad, bad, bad. Run, run, run.
As he turned to flee, he saw Taoist Baiyun approaching with a whisk and even leading a black dog.
This combination—one person, one dog, one child—was too familiar.
The reason he had been hiding in Di Hongluan’s useless body these past few days was precisely because of this combination that had heavily injured him. Now that he had finally come out, he encountered them again?
Why was he so unlucky?
The evil spirit’s sharp eyes spotted a potential escape route: the location of Di Chenyu.
Especially since there were two young children nearby.
The evil spirit, overjoyed, ran over, not believing he couldn’t escape.
Di Chenyu’s brows furrowed as he chanted the spell Ah Bao had taught him.
Just as the evil spirit approached, a thunderbolt struck him directly in the middle.
Hmm.
The evil spirit’s body curled up, turning pale. “You…”
“Ah, whose leg is this?” Ah Bao picked up a severed leg from behind.
The evil spirit was stunned, looking down to see he had already lost a leg due to the lightning.
For some reason, facing Ah Bao’s sparkling eyes, he felt an inexplicable fear.
Ah Bao grinned. “You, come here.”
The evil spirit, ignoring the pain, quickly shook his head. “No, no, no.”
“No?” Ah Bao blinked his big eyes, puffing out his cheeks, looking a bit displeased.
“Don’t be angry, please don’t be angry.” The evil spirit was startled and quickly floated over to the spot Ah Bao had just pointed to.
Oh no!
Ball Ball, this little killing deity, hurry up and leave. He was scared.
Ah Bao stared at him with wide eyes. “Do you know what a ball is?”
The evil spirit: ??
He nodded woodenly.
“Go ahead.”
“… Go, where?”
“Be the ball.”
The evil spirit: ………
Be what ball.
Be the ball for whom?
He tilted his head and noticed the two kids who had been standing next to Di Chenyu were holding two iron discs.
“Wait a minute.” Ah Bao dug around in the small pocket on his chest, pulling out several feathers despite the pocket being quite small.
They looked like… chicken feathers, plucked from a chicken.
Di Rongjing’s eyes widened. He remembered that the Yihe Palace had chickens, and Ah Bao often counted eggs and chickens for some unknown reason. The more he counted, the fewer there were.
Now, Di Rongjing understood.
The eggs were being cooked by Ah Bao.
The chickens were being plucked and roasted by Ah Bao.
No wonder there was always the smell of roast meat floating in the air above the Yihe Palace.
“Crouch down.” Ah Bao said cheerfully, as if making a craft toy.
The evil spirit didn’t want to crouch. He was a big, big evil spirit!
Why should he listen to a baby?
The evil spirit pouted and obediently crouched down. “What do you want to do?”
Ah Bao puffed out his cheeks. “Shh, don’t talk.”
The evil spirit: “… Ah!”
It hurt so much.
It felt like being stabbed by needles.
[This damn thing looks like a person, but it’s actually a bundle of stench. Stab, stab, stab, stab the little person!]
Di Rongjing: …
Di Chenyu: …
Taoist Baiyun’s mouth twitched, looking at Ah Bao with admiration. The boss was still the best.
“It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!” The big evil spirit wanted to cry but had no tears.
Ah Bao, with a fierce expression, said, “If you move again, I’ll be angry.”
The evil spirit dared not move. Soon, his body was covered in chicken feathers, smelling strongly of chicken.
