Chapter 14: Molestation! Help!
Shen Yueying stood in front of the counter, a hint of panic in her eyes.
She recognized this guy, the town’s notorious hooligan young master, whose family was rich but who didn’t study hard and did whatever he wanted. All his brothers were involved in the underworld. She was immediately shocked and shouted,
“Let go of me! What do you care where my passbook came from! It’s my passbook!”
“Yours?” Wu Zheng gripped her wrist tightly, “What’s your name? Does it match the account name?”
Shen Yueying struggled desperately, but to no avail. Finally, when many people around the supply and marketing cooperative looked over, she shouted with a flushed face, “Molestation! Help!”
This shout was no small matter, and the gazes of many people outside became sharp.
Before Wu Zheng could react, several burly men rushed in to do what was right!
Even a good tiger couldn’t withstand a pack of wolves. In just a few moves, Wu Zheng was pinned to the ground. Ignoring his explanations, they dragged him all the way to the police station!
……
Meanwhile, in the hospital ward, Shen Rongrong was holding a spoon and constantly looking out the window.
Originally, only Chen Yu hadn’t returned. Wu Zheng said he was going to find him, but who knew that Wu Zheng had also disappeared.
Fortunately, Wu Zheng had left money before he left. Under the repeated urging of the nurse, she had no choice but to queue up to pay the fees and take Grandma for the examination herself, just like many other family members of patients.
When she returned, she saw Grandma making some groaning sounds in bed. She quickly checked and found… water dripping from under the bed.
Physiological problems were unavoidable for any living being.
She cleaned Grandma without any disgust, sent all the urine-soaked sheets to the laundry room, and used the remaining money to buy new sheets and new clothes for Grandma to change into.
She had always thought that she, a human with a snail’s core, would have a hard time living in real human society. But now, looking at the newly refreshed Grandma, she realized that she could solve problems well even when she was alone.
But, she still didn’t understand where those two men had gone?
Late at night.
Shen Rongrong, who had been waiting until she was drowsy, suddenly heard a noise.
She looked up and saw a young girl wearing a pink top and black flared jeans, with lipstick on, entering the room. She looked flamboyant and fashionable.
After the girl entered the ward, her eyes fell on Shen Rongrong, “Who are you?”
“I am” Shen Rongrong tilted her head strangely, “A family member of the patient.”
“Family member?” The girl carefully looked at the old woman in bed, her eyes falling on Shen Rongrong, “Granddaughter?”
Shen Rongrong answered habitually, “Granddaughter-in-law.”
“You? Granddaughter-in-law?” The girl was full of surprise, even speechless, “Then do you know who I am?”
Shen Rongrong shook her head – she didn’t recognize her.
The girl said with a smile, “My name is Chen Yan. Guess, who am I?”
Shen Rongrong, as before, could only know who someone was after hearing their name for the first time.
At this moment, she suddenly realized – this was the war orphan adopted by the Chen family, Chen Yu’s younger sister!
“Mom” Chen Yan immediately shouted towards the outside, “Come quickly! There’s a liar here! I don’t know what she’s doing while my brother’s not here!”
“Ah?” Guan Hanyu, who was carrying a lot of things, trotted in and saw a strange girl in the room, “Who are you?”
“She said she’s my brother’s wife!” Chen Yan directly raised her hand to complain, “I don’t even know her! She’s really audacious!”
“I’m… sorry.” Shen Rongrong suddenly felt guilty, tightly holding the unconscious Grandma, and replied softly, “I can… explain!”
“Explain what you explain! Still a family member, doesn’t a family member recognize me?” Chen Yan directly took a few steps forward to protect Grandma and pushed the woman, who knew where she came from, away, “Dare to lie to our family! Do you know who my dad is? When he comes over in a while, he’ll send you to the police station! Get out!”
The book said that Chen Yan had a fiery personality and a strong sense of independence. Sure enough, without waiting for Shen Rongrong to explain, she stepped forward and pushed her out the door.
Shen Rongrong staggered from the push, almost falling, and stood at the door of the ward with a blank face.
Through the small window, she saw the mother and daughter carefully checking on Grandma. Even though her heart was full of grievances, she was very clear.
Her purpose in coming here was to maintain the original route, taking one step at a time towards the ending.
The Chen family, originally, did not belong to her.
So it was good that they treated her as a liar and drove her away.
The wind was a bit cold at night. Shen Rongrong hugged her arms involuntarily after walking out of the hospital.
Snails were nocturnal creatures, so the darkness of the night didn’t scare her, but she felt lonely for the first time.
She walked towards home on the empty road, and finally returned to Xiushan Village near dawn.
The village was as peaceful as usual, with only a few cock-a-doodle-doos and dog barks.
It was only when she stood at the door of her house… that she suddenly remembered that she had lost the key in her handkerchief.
After feeling annoyed for a while, she suddenly remembered that Grandma had said that there was a spare key under the bluestone slab at the corner of the entrance.
How to define a home?
It was a place where, even without a key, there was a way to get in.
For the next few days, Shen Rongrong lived in this empty house.
She had no idea what had happened to Grandma.
She only knew that the three hundred yuan that Wu Zheng had given her, after deducting the examination fees, the deposit for the new sheets and bedding, and Grandma’s two sets of spare clothes… only a few dozen yuan were left.
Although she didn’t know if she would ever see him again, it was only right to pay back debts.
She heard that there was a small mountain not far from here. When she decided to pick some mountain goods and see if there were any treasures on the mountain, Aunt Wang, a neighbor, hesitated to stop her, saying, “That area, there’s… danger.”
Danger?
Shen Rongrong didn’t quite understand what she meant.
Anxious to earn money, she still went up the mountain.
She thought there would be big bad wolves or tigers in the mountains, so she didn’t dare to go up too fast… but she didn’t expect the mountain to be very quiet and the scenery to be nice.
The only thing was that she occasionally felt something soft under her feet that didn’t feel right – she looked down and saw a big snail! It had shrunk up after she stepped on it!
“Ooo, ooo” Feeling too sorry for stepping on a member of her own kind, she hurriedly lifted her foot! As a result, she didn’t stand firmly and fell down the hillside!
That brain, which had just suffered a concussion, tumbled down the steep hillside, and she instantly saw stars and lost consciousness on the spot.
When she woke up again, she heard a chaotic noise in her ears and her stomach hurt! She felt like her whole body was bouncing!
Enduring the feeling of nausea, she opened her eyes and found herself in a dense forest, being carried on a man’s shoulder and moving at high speed!
The man was wearing a set of special forces camouflage uniforms. Even with someone on his shoulder, his speed didn’t decrease. He was walking quickly through the dappled trees!
With a few ‘whoosh’ sounds, several bullets flew past her head like shooting stars!
“Wah!”
She exclaimed! Her snail nature once again took over her body in a moment of crisis, and she subconsciously shrank up and hugged the man tightly!
What was going on!!!
Accompanied by another burst of bullets, countless wood chips flew from the trees behind them! Shen Rongrong was so scared that she almost twisted into a pretzel on the man’s body!
The gunshots made the man run even faster, constantly alert to the surrounding movements, but he was still shot once! He instantly rolled into the thick bushes due to inertia!
Shen Rongrong, who had rolled into the grass with him, didn’t dare to breathe. As she saw a large area of red soaking through the man’s camouflage uniform, she was about to say something when he immediately turned around and covered her mouth!
The man was covered in sweat, and shook his head at her with tightly pursed lips.
Only then did she see the man’s face clearly!
