Chapter 9: Can I hug you?
Chen Yu didn’t answer, but handed the receipt to Wu Zheng behind him: “You go upstairs and get grandma’s hospital supplies first, I’ll handle things here.”
“Okay.” Wu Zheng took the receipt and turned to leave the crowd.
Afterwards, Chen Yu handed his hand to Shen Rongrong, who was squatting on the ground, and asked, “Are you okay?”
Shen Rongrong looked up at him, and at this moment felt that he was even more secure, and gently handed him her hand.
Chen Yu looked at her delicate, soft, and white little hand resting on his big hand full of gun calluses, gently grasped it, helped her up, and comforted her.
“Don’t be afraid, if you didn’t do it, you won’t be slandered for no reason.”
Shen Rongrong understood and quickly nodded and said, “I didn’t!”
“Your clothes are dirty.” Chen Yu pointed to the pink vest that was stained with white ash when she leaned against the wall.
Shen Rongrong turned her head and saw that the beautiful clothes that grandma gave her were dirty, and she quickly turned around to pat off the dust with heartache.
Gao Hui was left aside, with no chance to continue ranting, and the onlookers also stared at each other, in silence.
A few minutes later, a chubby female nurse ran over in a hurry: “I’m sorry! There was a child in the ward who suddenly fell ill! I was busy participating in the emergency rescue! Please let me through!”
Gao Hui had already been so nervous that her hands and feet were cold in these five minutes. As soon as she saw the head nurse coming, she immediately opened her mouth: “Head nurse… I…”
“Don’t say anything!” The head nurse glared at her: “As a hospital staff member, you disregard your identity and image and make a lot of noise in the hospital! The director asked you to go to the office! You just wait to be dealt with!”
Gao Hui’s face was full of grievance. She wanted to defend herself but didn’t dare to talk back. She just glared at Shen Rongrong hatefully and reluctantly pushed through the crowd and left.
Only Gao Yuan, who had been unable to get a word in, was left. He hurriedly pulled Shen Rongrong and explained.
“Rongrong! I’m sorry Rongrong! My sister is just like this, I apologize to you for her! Please don’t take her seriously! She really likes the nursing profession! Our family can compensate you with money, please don’t pursue her, okay!”
Shen Rongrong wanted to speak, but was glanced at by Chen Yu.
She immediately shut up knowingly and waited for him to finish dealing with things before speaking.
The head nurse also quickly smiled and said to them: “Our director said that our hospital will investigate and verify this matter. If the nurse is indeed slandering for no reason, we will seriously deal with her, and we will also apologize to this girl and try our best to recover her reputation loss. Please move to the office to chat, okay?”
“Yeah.” Chen Yu responded and signaled Shen Rongrong: Follow.
Shen Rongrong nodded quickly: Okay, boss!
Just like that.
Five minutes ago, Gao Hui was still arrogant and shouted loudly, wanting to teach this and that a lesson, saying that it was not time for her to change the night shift and she would not be dealt with.
Five minutes later, she stood in the director’s office with her head down. Her previous arrogance was completely gone. She was like an eggplant beaten by frost, withered and dared not say a word.
At this time, the director, who was already bald, was even more angry that this happened, and scratched his head straight. He glared at Gao Hui countless times in secret, and gave up his chair to the camp-level military officer, accompanying them with smiling faces to pour tea and solve the problem.
Shen Rongrong also got a small stool for patients to sit on and sat next to Chen Yu, holding the hot teacup in her hands and blowing on it, without needing to say a word throughout the whole process.
Of course, Chen Yu didn’t say much either.
He only asked some questions calmly.
“The hospital is a place to heal the wounded and rescue the dying, not a place for you to rant and scold people. Right?”
Gao Hui pursed her lips, her eyes full of injustice: “But she cheated on marriage and betrothal gifts, and left the mess to others. Shouldn’t this kind of person be scolded?”
“Were you cheated on marriage by her?”
Gao Hui was a little speechless, and rolled her eyes: “No.”
“Since you weren’t.” Chen Yu tapped the glass surface of the director’s desk lightly with his fingers: “How do you prove that what you said is right?”
Gao Hui’s face turned red: “How to prove that! How to prove this kind of thing! I can’t go to the bed to see with my own eyes whether she did anything with a man!”
“Heh.” Chen Yu chuckled: “You also know that you can’t see this kind of thing with your own eyes? It’s not a light matter to slander others arbitrarily without any evidence.”
“Now her sister is about to marry over! She’s been crying at home all day because of her!” Gao Hui was still very stubborn: “This is a fact!”
Chen Yu didn’t answer this sentence, but lowered his head silently and took a sip of tea with a cold face.
The hospital director was about to bite off his back molars, and reprimanded in a low voice: “They are giving you a step down! Not letting you argue! You are wearing a nurse uniform and shouting in the hospital, publicizing other people’s family affairs, and there is no evidence! If you continue like this, no one can protect you!”
When Gao Hui heard this, she immediately panicked. Although she was obviously still unconvinced, she had to admit her mistake in the face of the facts. She said to Shen Rongrong with a red face: “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not rel…”
As soon as Shen Rongrong opened her mouth, a palm was placed in front of her, blocking her face and stopping the words below.
The little girl showed her eyes from the cracks between her fingers, looking at this man who had the taste of an old cadre at a young age, smiling sweetly: What instructions does the boss have?
Chen Yu just looked at her quietly, and treated her the same way he treated Gao Hui just now, letting her think for herself.
After a strange silence.
Shen Rongrong coughed twice, and suddenly raised her hand and slapped the table: “I demand~ exemption from hospital deposit!”
Chen Yu:?
The director of the hospital next to him was stunned, and immediately nodded: “Okay, okay! No problem!”
For the director, this may be the best way to deal with it. If the hospital publicly criticizes the nurse to clarify the remarks or makes a fuss to the police station, it may affect the hospital’s rating, which would be even more troublesome.
Almost like a promise after surviving a disaster: “This is indeed our hospital’s fault! We won’t charge the hospitalization fee either! You only need to pay some fixed examination fees and medicine fees, do you think that’s okay?”
“Okay!” Shen Rongrong was super happy: “Give my grandma… the best bed~!”
With this agreement reached, Chen Yu couldn’t say anything more.
After being sent out by the hospital with smiling faces, Chen Yu lowered his eyes and asked her: “Why don’t you want her to apologize publicly?”
Shen Rongrong shook her head.
Although Gao Hui did cause some verbal impact on her, those who heard these words were strangers, and there would be no major problems.
The root of the problem lies in Shen Yueying. It was she who spread these things, which caused Gao Hui, who had no brains, to follow suit… Without solving Shen Yueying, no apology is useful.
It’s better to ask for money.
So, she said seriously: “Grandma, important… I, little money.”
Chen Yu: “…”
He didn’t know what to say, so he could only show her with a wry smile that she could go back.
“Not over yet.” Shen Rongrong stood at the door of the director’s office, listening to Gao Hui being reprimanded inside. She poked him carefully and asked with a sweet smile: “Can I hug you later?”
Chen Yu raised an eyebrow: “Hug me?”
