Transmigrated into the Apocalypse: Hoarding Ten Billion Supplies and Clinging to the Villain’s Thigh Chapter 6

Chapter 6: A Complete Falling Out

Shu Xin was very satisfied with the house renovations—it was exactly how she had envisioned it. Just looking at it gave her a strong sense of security.

She promptly paid the remaining balance and even transferred an additional five hundred thousand as a bonus, as she had promised earlier. So far, she had spent nearly five billion, but it was still far from enough.

She had only used up half of the money from selling stocks, and her original savings remained untouched.

Her checklist was now half completed, with most of the remaining items needing to be purchased domestically.

Shu Xin wasn’t in a hurry. She still had over ten months to stockpile supplies. With that much time, how could she possibly fail to spend the money and buy what she needed?

Unlike abroad, the domestic market operated under a big data surveillance system. Making large-scale purchases could easily attract attention from both individuals and authorities. Some items even required special permits to buy.

It wasn’t like the female protagonists in novels who could effortlessly buy out entire wholesale markets, order a thousand servings of cooked food with a snap of their fingers, or monopolize all the street food in a night market for half a month.

Once she started hoarding supplies, she’d quickly realize how unrealistic those actions were. Even setting aside the question of whether she’d be questioned by the authorities, such conspicuous behavior would make her a walking target.

With how advanced the internet was, any unusual activity would inevitably get posted online by onlookers.

When the apocalypse arrived, anyone who had seen or heard about her actions would immediately realize that something was off. It would be no different from painting herself with the brightest target markings possible.

Ordinary people might not be able to do much, but in an apocalypse, the most abundant resource was people with abilities. If they knew she had stockpiles of supplies, they would swarm her like locusts. The likelihood of being kidnapped and used as a resource extraction tool would be over ninety percent.

Besides, once school started, Shu Xin would have to attend classes daily and work on building a relationship with her chosen “golden thigh” (her future protector). She wouldn’t have time to run around securing supplies all day.

She needed to plan carefully to ensure a steady accumulation of resources.

After inspecting her house, Shu Xin didn’t head straight home. Instead, she decided to drive around a few large wholesale markets in the city. While waiting at a relatively empty intersection for a red light, she noticed a warehouse-style supermarket that was up for sale.

Her eyes lit up.

A warehouse-style supermarket was perfect! It had a large and diverse inventory, with bulk goods readily available—an ideal place for stockpiling supplies.

If she bought the store, she would have a legitimate reason to purchase supplies in bulk without raising suspicion. She wouldn’t have to run around collecting items herself.

As long as she increased the store’s procurement volume by fifty percent each time, no one would question it. They’d simply assume it was a business strategy and wouldn’t look too deeply into it.

This particular supermarket wasn’t in a prime location, so its business likely wasn’t booming. That worked in her favor. She could discreetly collect excess inventory while appearing to operate a struggling store. Over ten months, the accumulated stockpile would be staggering.

And that wasn’t even counting the things she planned to buy online or stockpile separately. She would definitely ensure a comfortable life for herself and her “golden thigh” in the apocalypse.

Thinking further, she realized she could also acquire a pharmacy. That would solve the issue of medical supplies as well.

Taking note of the supermarket’s location and contact number, Shu Xin drove away.

She definitely wanted to acquire it, but if she simply walked in and said, “I want to buy your supermarket,” she’d be seen as an easy target to rip off.

Some things were best left to professionals.

Shu Xin found a café, leisurely sipping afternoon tea and enjoying desserts while hiring a professional store manager online.

Since she would need someone to run the supermarket and pharmacy anyway, she might as well handle everything properly from the start.

With her extremely generous salary offer, it didn’t take long for candidates to start applying. She selected the one she found most agreeable.

Because, well… having money meant she could do as she pleased.

This was the sheer power of wealth!

With a major issue resolved, Shu Xin decided to reward herself with a lavish dinner for being so smart.

She wandered around until nine in the evening, contentedly carrying large shopping bags as she drove home.

Since school was about to start, Shu Xin decided to relax for the time being. She planned to spend her days strolling the streets, indulging in delicious food, buying new furniture, ordering her favorite items and snacks online—returning to her leisurely, laid-back lifestyle.

But happy times were always short-lived.

The moment she saw the faces of Shu Liangjun and his family on her home’s video doorbell, her happiness vanished with a “snap.”

These people were insufferable! She had made things crystal clear before. They had already fallen out completely, yet they still had the audacity to come knocking?

Not wanting to create a scene in front of her neighbors, Shu Xin ultimately let them in.

This family had no sense of shame. As soon as they entered, they sat down on the couch as if they were in their own home.

“If you have something to say, say it quickly. If you need to fart, let it out fast. You’re not welcome here.”

Shu Xin had no intention of engaging in a long conversation. She just wanted them to say their piece and leave.

“What kind of attitude is that?! No matter what, we’re still your elders! Where is your respect? Do you have no manners?!” Wang Shuhong, already frustrated at being dragged here, immediately exploded upon hearing Shu Xin’s words. She was just short of pointing at Shu Xin’s nose and cursing.

She had none of the grace of a noble lady—more like a middle-aged woman from a rural village engaged in a shouting match.

“Shut up!” Shu Liangjun felt the veins on his forehead throbbing. He couldn’t believe he had married such a foolish woman—one who did nothing but cause trouble.

At his outburst, Wang Shuhong immediately fell silent, though her face remained twisted with anger.

“If you came here just to show off your family drama, I’ve seen enough. I’m not interested. If you have nothing important to say, you can leave now.”

Shu Xin moved to open the door, her intention to send them off unmistakable.

“Shu Xin, we’re here about the company. Lately, we’ve run into a major cash flow issue. There’s a huge financial gap. If we don’t fill it… the company might… It’s all my fault. This company is your grandfather’s and father’s legacy…”

His words were filled with implications, clearly hoping Shu Xin would offer money. But instead of the reaction he expected, she remained expressionless and responded in a completely unexpected way.

“So, you do have some self-awareness. A company that flourished under Grandpa and Dad is now failing in your hands. Truly, intelligence is something you’re born with—it can’t be changed.”

Shu Liangjun was so furious he almost passed out. She was outright calling him an idiot!

“Sister, how can you say that? Are you really going to abandon your family?” Shu Hanyan finally seized an opportunity to speak, her tone dripping with false concern.

“Oh wow, I never realized how sharp your comprehension skills were. Since you already know, make sure never to come looking for me again. Having relatives like you is nothing but bad luck.”

Sarcasm? Who didn’t know how to do that?

Shu Queen of Sarcasm Xin was feeling smug!
