Chapter 106 : Hot Wedding Night

Perhaps due to the impending joy, the weather had been clear and sunny for several days.

That morning, before dawn, Liang Qingqing was woken up and got out of bed. After freshening up, she ate a large bowl of noodles with a golden fried egg on top, garnished with chopped scallions. The dish was colorful and aromatic, instantly stimulating her appetite despite just waking up.

“You need to eat more, it’s going to be a busy day,” Wang Xiaomei, who was experienced, reminded her while helping to take the wedding dress out of the box.

Liang Qingqing nodded. Hearing the noise outside, she knew that the relatives who had come to help were already arriving. Some were moving tables, some were cooking, and no one was idle.

“Qingqing, we’re not late, are we?” Huang Yali and Zhou Lilan arrived before Liang Qingqing had finished her bowl of noodles. They were there to be her bridesmaids. Since Huang Yali and Liang Junqiang were not yet married, to avoid suspicion, she had stayed with Zhou Lilan the previous night and came together today.

“It’s still early. You should eat something to fill your stomach, my mother has saved some food for you in the kitchen.”

So, the two of them went out again after entering.

After finishing her meal, Liang Qingqing was thoroughly busy. She needed to do her makeup, style her hair, and deal with all the congratulatory guests, with not a moment to spare.

Fortunately, Huang Yali helped to style her hair. With her skillful hands and Liang Qingqing’s guidance, a complex and exquisite hairstyle was soon completed. She even applied a bit of hairspray to make the hair look smoother.

There was a small episode when Qiu Xiaoyan arrived with a congratulatory gift. Seeing her, Liang Qingqing felt unusually calm, with no emotional upheaval, and even chatted with her pleasantly for a while. However, it seemed that Qiu Xiaoyan was aware of the awkwardness between them and didn’t stay long.

“Qiu Xiaoyan seems to have been quite inspired recently, she’s thriving at home. Her unreasonable parents no longer dare to order her around, and the arranged marriage she had is also off,” Zhou Lilan said, looking at Qiu Xiaoyan’s retreating figure with a complex expression.

“Oh?” Liang Qingqing asked curiously. She really wanted to know what Qiu Xiaoyan had done after coming to the country town.

At this moment, Zhou Lilan glanced around to make sure there were no outsiders and then whispered mysteriously, “I live near them, so I know more. Previously, Qiu Xiaoyan’s parents were forcing her to marry a widower, right?”

Everyone nodded in agreement, eagerly straining to catch every detail.

“Qiu Xiaoyan didn’t want to, and they kept pressuring her. So, she fetched a bucket from the outhouse and, without saying a word, threw it over them. She did it repeatedly until they stopped bothering her.”

Upon hearing this, everyone exchanged glances, and it seemed like a faint odor was emanating from the story. They quickly asked Zhou Lilan to stop and then all laughed. Liang Qingqing snorted and said, “Deservedly so. Bad deeds receive bad retribution. I think Qiu Xiaoyan did the right thing. Only by being firm can others not bully you.”

“That’s right. I think she handled it well. If she had always been obedient, she’d probably have been sold off by now,” Zhou Lilan agreed.

The topic of Qiu Xiaoyan was quickly dropped, and no one mentioned her again.

Liang Qingqing had just finished getting ready and was sitting on the edge of the bed chatting with others when the Feng family arrived.

“It’s been a long time, today our Qingqing is getting married!” Li Qingfeng smiled as she entered, handing a congratulatory gift to Liang Qingqing. She then turned to Xiu’er and gave her congratulations.

The small child stood upright, using all her strength to speak clearly.

Seeing this scene, everyone’s hearts were melted by the cuteness, and they all expressed their desire to take Xiu’er home.

Li Qingfeng, with her eyes squinted from smiling, waved her hand and said, “If you want her, you’ll have to have your own. I’m not giving her to you.”

This was met with another round of hearty laughter. At that moment, a louder commotion came from outside. Huang Yali ran out to see and hurriedly came back with the news, “The groom has arrived.”

Hearing this, Liang Qingqing’s relaxed mood suddenly tensed up, and she instinctively clenched her fists.

Accompanied by the sound of firecrackers, a familiar male voice called out from outside, “I’m here to pick up Qingqing.”

Soon after, a tall figure appeared at the door. Their gazes met accurately in mid-air, and they both saw an unmistakable sense of awe in each other’s eyes.

Today, Fan Yanxing was dressed in a black suit with a matching overcoat. Standing among the crowd, his well-tailored outfit accentuated his tall and upright posture. His short hair was neatly styled, his face was full of smiles, and his chiseled features exuded an air of nobility.

His eyes were fixed on Liang Qingqing with a fiery intensity, taking in her stunning appearance in the red wedding dress.

The traditional-style wedding dress was simple yet elegant. It was custom-made by a tailor they had chosen together, every stitch reflecting their thoughtfulness. But it was only when she wore it that its true value and beauty were truly revealed.

Her lightly powdered face had a hint of blush, and her striking features drew gazes irresistibly. Her eyes were full of affection, and the waves of emotion they stirred in his heart made his breathing heavier and his heartbeat gradually uncontrollable.

“The groom’s stunned, hahaha, let’s get on with the ceremony and take him home.” Someone in the crowd shouted, finally breaking the romantic atmosphere and restoring the lively mood.

The loud comment made the two main characters of the day blush. Fan Yanxing stepped forward and extended his hand to Liang Qingqing, speaking in a tone only they could hear, “Qingqing, I’m here to pick you up.”

“Okay.” Liang Qingqing’s long lashes fluttered, and her eyes shimmered with unshed tears. She felt a sudden urge to cry but managed to hold it back. She smiled, placed her hand into his, and their fingers interlocked tightly.

In the main hall, Ma Xiuzhi and Liang Xueyong had already taken their seats at the head table. They watched as the couple, now close but still distinct, prepared to leave.

An elderly and respected villager, who was experienced in conducting such ceremonies, had been invited to oversee the proceedings. Everything went smoothly, and before long, the newlyweds were ready to head to the groom’s family home.

The road wasn’t wide, but it was flat. For the past few days, Liang Shuqiang and Liang Junqiang had been preparing it, ensuring that any small stones were removed. Now, as they watched their only sister being carefully helped onto the bicycle and set off steadily, they finally felt relieved. They couldn’t help but wipe their faces.

The procession was accompanied by firecrackers, which were set off for as long as the procession lasted. The red firecracker paper covered the entire route, as if congratulating the newlyweds.

Upon arriving at the Fan household, they first served tea to the parents-in-law, then went through all the necessary procedures. Finally, the feast began. Almost everyone in the village had received an invitation. The yard was filled with tables and chairs, and even the road outside had many tables set up. People came in a steady stream, some hoping to enjoy the food and drink, and others genuinely coming to offer their congratulations.

Regardless of their reasons for coming, all were considered guests and were welcomed. The sight of so many guests was heartening.

The newlyweds took turns toasting. Although there were groomsmen and bridesmaids to block some of the alcohol, and Fan Yanxing drank quite a bit on her behalf, Liang Qingqing still got somewhat tipsy. Knowing her own limits, she had Huang Yali bring water instead of wine later on. This substitution was necessary, but fortunately, it went unnoticed.

After the toasts, Liang Qingqing returned to her room. Fan Yanxing continued to entertain guests outside, and it was expected he wouldn’t return until the wedding feast was over. The busy preparations and celebrations continued into the evening. While it was still light, everyone helped return the tables and chairs and cleaned up the yard before going their separate ways.

The new house finally returned to tranquility.

“Are you okay?”

Fan Yanxing was helped back in, his face flushed red and smelling strongly of alcohol. Liang Qingqing wrinkled her nose in distaste but still gently patted his cheek. “There’s some hangover soup here. Do you want to drink a bowl?”

Before she could finish speaking, the man lying in bed suddenly opened his eyes wide, clear and sober, with no trace of drunkenness. He grabbed her hand, pressing it firmly against his cheek, and a meaningful smile curved his lips. “I’d prefer something else to drink.”

“W-What?”

Liang Qingqing was startled by his words and instinctively pulled back, but he quickly drew her back toward him. Losing her balance, she ended up falling into his arms, the distance between them shrinking instantly. Their breaths mingled, and the sweet, strong smell of alcohol surrounded them, making her head spin with unseemly thoughts.

“I meant I want some water. What were you thinking about, Qingqing?” Fan Yanxing said with a half-smile, his finger playfully tracing her delicate earlobe, his tone rising slightly with amusement.

She was taken aback, unable to speak for a moment. Finally, she decided to change the subject. “I’m going to take a shower first. You can have some water.”

Just as she tried to get up, he scooped her into his arms, lifting her off her feet. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, snuggling into him.

“It’s not that much trouble. Let’s shower together and have some water. The kind of water you were thinking about,” Fan Yanxing teased, giving a pat to the gap between her legs, his tone laden with implication.

Her eyes widened with embarrassment, feeling too shy to face anyone. Her long legs kicked in the air, trying to escape his grasp, but he wasn’t about to let her get away, striding purposefully toward the bathroom.

As per Liang Qingqing’s request, the bathroom was originally to have a cement floor, but Fan Yanxing, seeing tiles on sale, decided to cover the room, toilet, and bathroom with them. He also had a large bathtub installed, spacious enough for two people.

Hot water steamed up, creating a misty haze that made the scene look almost unreal. All that could be seen were delicate white hands gripping the side of the rack, a long leg raised over the edge of the tub, a slender neck covered in veins and blushes, chin lifted, lips slightly parted, and the faint outline of bite marks on a pink tongue.

“Fan Yanxing, I told you not to touch me, I can’t handle it…”

“Don’t touch that place, please.”

Her usually sweet voice had turned hoarse, with a seductive and melodious tone, each word seeming to entice him to continue his advances. At least, that’s how it sounded to Fan Yanxing.

“Didn’t you get drunk?” Where did he find the energy to tease her?

“Qingqing, how could I miss out on our wedding night?”

The implication was clear, he was pretending.
