Chapter 108 : Sitting on the Waist
A pair of white arms were layed across her almond-shaped eyes, slightly blocking the glaring sunlight streaming in from the window. Her senses were a bit scattered, and she could only bite her lower lip to stifle the moans that were about to escape.
“Lift your legs higher.”
In contrast to her fair skin, the wheat-colored skin was pressed against her legs. The air was thick with a humid scent, and waves of heat rolled over her body, causing her to shiver uncontrollably.
Fan Yanxing slightly tilted his head and saw the woman in front of him with a dazed and dreamy expression, an air of subtle ambiguity creating a picture of exquisite beauty. Her disheveled hair barely covered the scene of spring, and her delicate skin was marked with traces of his kisses and bites. Taking a deep breath, he turned her over, holding her waist firmly, and his gaze traveled down her slender waist to her rounded curves, which deepened the darkness in his eyes.
She seemed to be unable to endure it much longer, her fingertips gripping the pillow as she tried to crawl forward, but she had no strength at all. After struggling for a while, she barely managed to move a few inches. Fan Yanxing picked her up, straddling her waist, and said in a hoarse voice,”Do it yourself? Do whatever you like.”
Liang Qingqing blinked her tear-filled lashes, not expecting such a turn of events. With a gentle push of her palm, she shoved him down onto the bed.
“Don’t you dare back out. Anyone who backs out is a little dog.”
As she spoke, she gathered her long hair to one side of her shoulder and took a few deep breaths before daring to try. She moved slowly at first, feeling somewhat relaxed and enjoying the process, but soon she grew tired and unsatisfied, finally turning her gaze towards him.
He had one hand on her waist and the other propped behind his head. If it weren’t for the bulging veins on his neck revealing his true feelings, Liang Qingqing might have thought he was incredibly relaxed. Judging by his demeanor, he probably felt the same way she did.
But remembering the “great resolve” she had expressed at the beginning, Liang Qingqing felt like she had shot herself in the foot. Feeling somewhat embarrassed and indecisive, she eventually stopped her “feigned weakness” and poked his abs with her fingertips, the implication of which was obvious.
Fan Yanxing, being so perceptive, surely understood what she meant.
But he insisted on playing along and asked with a deliberately puzzled expression, “What’s wrong?”
His voice was gravelly and low, betraying the restraint he had been holding back for a long time. Yet Liang Qingqing could still detect a hint of amusement in it. This little bit of success infuriated her, and she immediately scrambled to get up, intending to put on her shoes and leave. “It’s over, I’m going to wash up.”
However, her legs felt weak and she almost stumbled. Fortunately, a pair of strong arms reached out just in time to pull her back, and her back pressed against the warm bed again. Embarrassed and angry, she was about to start shouting when she heard two “woofs” from above.
Hearing this, she widened her eyes in disbelief and looked up at him. He, too, looked a bit embarrassed, his cheeks reddening. His actions were a way to change the subject and give both of them a way out.
Liang Qingqing laughed heartily without any regard and said, “Serves you right.”
“Yeah, it’s my own fault.” Fan Yanxing’s face darkened for a moment, but he couldn’t do anything about it. He couldn’t scold or hit her, so he found another way to regain some dignity. His hand remained firmly on her leg like a shackle, preventing her from escaping.
However, when he saw the traces of tears on her face, he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt. His gaze softened, and he decided to let her be.
“You sleep for a while. I’ll go heat up some water and come back to carry you to the bath.” Fan Yanxing leaned down and kissed her lips. She made a soft sound and then rolled to the other side of the bed, leaving him with just her back.
He knew she was shy and didn’t mind her showing a sulky face after their intimacy. Smiling to himself, he got up, opened the door, and stepped outside. It was winter, and the peach tree in the yard was still bare, except for a few small red paper decorations. The “double happiness” characters fluttered in the wind, which lifted his spirits.
Finally having married the woman he adored, this joy was something others couldn’t fully understand, only he could savor it deeply in his heart.
She loved beautiful things. Perhaps he should plant a few camellia trees in the yard so that even the desolate winter wouldn’t seem so monotonous.
Fan Yanxing was a man of action. The next day, he consulted with the team leader and then went up the mountain to dig up a few camellia trees. Liang Qingqing was thrilled and kept bouncing around, but looking at the trees with their buds in full bloom, she couldn’t help but worry, “We won’t end up killing them, will we?”
It would be such a shame if they did.
“Won’t happen. My aunt is an expert in this area. She used to call me over to help, so I guess you could say I’m a bit of an expert myself.” Fan Yanxing answered nonchalantly, continuing to dig holes in the yard without looking up.
“…” Just helping out once qualifies as being a bit of an expert? Liang Qingqing was deeply skeptical of this.
But his skills were definitely better than hers, so she didn’t voice her doubts. Instead, she followed him around, looking this way and that, occasionally asking questions. They spent an hour or two in the yard planting camellias in every corner.
Red, pink, light red…
The various colors intertwined, creating a beautiful, vivid scene like a painting.
“It’s so beautiful.” Liang Qingqing squatted down, picked up a fallen flower, and smiled brightly as she turned to Fan Yanxing.
Fan Yanxing’s attention was completely drawn to her. Surrounded by the flowers, with her almond eyes and rosy lips, her cheeks flushed with a hint of pink, and her chin elegantly raised, she looked strikingly beautiful even without makeup. Every movement she made was full of charm and grace.
“You look more beautiful than the flowers,” he said for the first time in an unusually sincere but somewhat oily and flattering tone.
As soon as the words left his mouth, he realized he couldn’t take them back. He watched Liang Qingqing freeze in place, then cleared his throat and stepped forward to take the camellia flower from her, tucking it behind her ear. After giving her a once-over, he continued,”People are more beautiful than flowers. My wife is beautiful.”
Liang Qingqing’s cheeks flushed slightly. Although she was secretly pleased, she made a face of disgust and said, “Fan Yanxing, I think you’re becoming more and more…”
The rest of the sentence went unsaid, but the unspoken understanding between them was clear.
“Well, what of it? Is it wrong to praise my own wife?” The more she reacted like this, the more resolute he became, as if she were the unreasonable one.
“That’s right, of course it’s not wrong. Remember to compliment me every day from now on,” Liang Qingqing said with a glance, extending her hand for him to help her up. She then patted her numb legs and added, “I want to have stir-fried lotus root tonight.”
“Sure,” he replied.
Although Fan Yanxing’s cooking skills were nothing to brag about, there was no one else in the household who could cook besides him. Relying on Liang Qingqing, who was a disaster in the kitchen, was like hoping a pig could climb a tree.
After dinner, the two of them took a walk to the Liang family home. The advantage of living nearby was that she could visit her family anytime. Fan Yanxing, the newly appointed son-in-law, had become quite familiar with the place. Seeing that Liang Qingqing and her mother had things to discuss, he tactfully went to the backyard to watch Liang Junqiang practice carpentry.
Liang Qingqing’s room was still reserved for her. Ma Xiuzhi said that no matter how long it had been, this room would always be hers alone.
Ma Xiuzhi mysteriously pulled Liang Qingqing onto the bed, examining her hands up and down before finally focusing on her neck, which was wrapped tightly in a scarf. Lowering her voice, she asked, “How are things between you two? Is everything harmonious?”
At these words, Liang Qingqing nearly choked on her own saliva, coughing for a long time with her face burning red. Seeing her reaction, Ma Xiuzhi also felt uncomfortable, laughing awkwardly and explaining, “Even though I talked to you about this aspect of things that night, you have to experience it yourself to truly understand.”
“I know.” Liang Qingqing touched her flushed face, mumbling, “Things are okay with him.”
But this answer made Ma Xiuzhi jump up from the bed in shock, exclaiming, “Fan Yanxing can’t do it?”
Her voice was slightly raised, causing Liang Qingqing to blush even more. She quickly grabbed Ma Xiuzhi’s hand and pulled her back onto the bed, whispering urgently, “Mom, where did you get this idea?”
Ma Xiuzhi, still in shock, had a face full of mixed emotions. After some thought, she grit her teeth and said, “Qingqing, don’t settle for less. If Yanxing really can’t do it, for your happiness in the future, we should find a reason to get you remarried as soon as possible.”
Liang Qingqing’s eyes widened in shock, her lips slightly parted. She couldn’t understand how the conversation had turned to divorce, and why Ma Xiuzhi was so convinced that Fan Yanxing was incapable?
“Mom, what are you talking about? Fan Yanxing is not incapable…”
Before she could finish, Ma Xiuzhi interrupted her, “You don’t need to defend him, I understand.”
“Understand what? You don’t understand, I’m not defending him.” Liang Qingqing felt like crying without tears. She had no choice but to pull off the scarf around her neck, lowering her collar to show her mother the “evidence” of Fan Yanxing’s activities over the past few days.
“He’s not incapable at all, he’s actually quite capable. I’m even having a hard time keeping up.”
As Ma Xiuzhi listened to Liang Qingqing’s complaints and saw the red marks on her body, she hesitated for a moment before muttering, “I told you, with Yanxing’s build and his nose, how could he be incapable?”
After a few seconds of stunned silence, Ma Xiuzhi glared at Liang Qingqing, “When I asked you earlier, you said it was okay with a reluctant tone. I thought Yanxing had some hidden health issue.”
“I—I was just too embarrassed to tell the truth,” Liang Qingqing stammered. Who could have the audacity to discuss their husband’s abilities in such explicit terms with their own mother? Even though she had touched on the topic now, it was only out of necessity!
“Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore.” Ma Xiuzhi waved her hand, sat back down on the bed, and helped her adjust the scarf. Her brows furrowed slightly. “my son-in-law is young and impulsive. He’ll be more restrained as time goes on.”
Liang Qingqing nodded in agreement, but privately, she was skeptical. Given Fan Yanxing’s energy, she felt that once he figured out the tricks and techniques, he would only continue to find new ways to tease and please her, not to hold back.
But these thoughts were not something she dared to share with Ma Xiuzhi.
“Don’t spoil him, you can’t be too lenient with men,” Ma Xiuzhi said. Afterward, she and Liang Qingqing exchanged glances, each seeing a hint of “guilt” in the other’s eyes.
Both of them knew full well who was really spoiling whom.
“If he bullies you, just come back and tell me. I’ll have your elder brother and second brother beat him up.”
“Once your wedding leave is over, you’ll both be busy. Remember to take care of yourselves, and don’t let yourselves get hungry or cold.”
“Your in-laws will be leaving tomorrow, right? Later, I’ll give you some things to send over.”
After a lengthy and somewhat nagging conversation, when they finished talking and came out, they joined everyone in the main hall to eat some oranges together.
