Transmigrated Three Years Into the Future and Became My Archenemy’s Wife Chapter 8

08. Mordent

Listen, how deeply moving his words are.

If Chen Shu Yin didn’t already know the truth about him, she might have believed him.

As the most promising young actor among his peers, his career trajectory was clear—he was set on becoming the leading man in idol dramas. His choice for his return to television was a classic historical romance, the kind where the male lead showered the female lead with sweet words from beginning to end, making audiences swoon.

Chen Shu Yin clicked her tongue. Has he been watching too many idol dramas?

She parted her lips to refute him, but a gust of cold air rushed into her chest. Her loose strands of hair brushed against her ear, and her face, already flushed with anger because of Pei Yu, alternated between red and white in the mirror, revealing an intense, dazzling beauty.

Startled, Chen Shu Yin cried out, instinctively crossing her arms over her chest and kicking out at him.

Pei Yu maintained his cold, stern expression. Instead of backing away, he leaned in, trapping her between the sink and his arms, letting her struggle against him.

“You’re insane!”

The more she struggled to escape, the closer he got. Her twisting movements against his firm muscles made it seem almost as if she were teasing him.

Pei Yu sucked in a sharp breath and pressed down on her shoulders, restraining her. “Calm down. I haven’t even done anything yet—how does that make me a pervert?”

His words stunned Chen Shu Yin into silence.

After a moment, she said, “Who knows what you’ll do next? I don’t even know anything about this place. If you wanted to crush me like an ant, it’d be effortless.”

“I’m your husband. Do you really think I’d kill you?” Pei Yu’s hands slid up her waist, his long fingers grazing the thin fabric of her clothes as if in a deliberate caress. Then he gave her a light, teasing squeeze. “Like this?”

Her ears burned. She elbowed him hard on the back of his hand. “Don’t—”

She didn’t hold back, and soon a red mark bloomed on Pei Yu’s hand. He winced slightly but didn’t let go. Instead, he leaned down and whispered into her ear, “Then what about last night? When I had you like this, you were crying so much, but you still said you liked it.”

Chen Shu Yin realized that fighting back was useless—he would only push further. So she shut up, covering her burning ears with her hands.

Seeing her flustered, Pei Yu softened his gaze, turned her around to face him, and asked in a gentle voice, “Is your ear hurting again?”

“No! Just shut up.” She clutched her collar tightly. “Get out. I need to take a shower.”

After making sure she was fine, Pei Yu took her wrist and began explaining the layout of the bathroom, introducing the different bottles and products.

The cabinets on the wall were filled almost entirely with her things. Unlike three years ago, everything now bore luxury brand labels and foreign names, meticulously organized to the point that just looking at them felt exhausting.

The bathtub was already filled, the water rising steadily, yet Pei Yu showed no sign of leaving.

He pulled open a drawer below the sink, and in an instant, dozens of condom packets spilled out, their colorful packaging and words like “ultra-thin” and “super-light” clearly visible.

Chen Shu Yin’s heart pounded. She sneaked a glance at him.

Better not provoke him… She swallowed and said meekly, “I’m not a child. I don’t need you to teach me step by step. Can you let go of my wrist now?”

She tugged at his hand, but he didn’t budge.

Pei Yu stared at her intently. “Do you really not remember anything?”

Chen Shu Yin sighed and repeated solemnly, “I only have memories from three years ago.”

Pei Yu pointed at the bathtub, his voice laced with disbelief. “Yesterday, I helped you put on body wash, I bathed you, I dried you off, I massaged lotion onto your skin—”

Not again.

Chen Shu Yin covered his mouth.

She didn’t want to hear any more of these embarrassingly intimate details. These were things she should have done with someone she loved, not someone she despised.

Pei Yu calmly removed her hand and completed his sentence: “Right here, our first time.” He turned her toward the sink. “And over there—our second.”

“Pei Yu!” Chen Shu Yin furiously cut him off. “Can you stop? Are you telling me all this just to disgust me?”

“Disgust you?” Pei Yu looked as if he’d just been struck. His eyelashes trembled, making his voice unsteady. “But when we did it, you kept saying you loved me.”

Chen Shu Yin immediately covered her ears and denied it. “Impossible.”

She had barely tolerated him—how could she have said she loved him?

What had happened in the past three years that led to her marrying him?

“You’re tired.” Pei Yu took a deep breath, raised his hands in surrender, and reassured her, “When you’re well-rested, you’ll remember.”

As he walked out, he kept turning back, but Chen Shu Yin refused to meet his gaze. His lips parted as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he silently closed the door.

The moment he was gone, Chen Shu Yin dashed to lock the door and leaned against it, exhaling in relief.

She had been riddled with guilt over his supposed death. Seeing him alive had given her peace.

But who would have thought Pei Yu would somehow end up marrying her and act so deeply in love?

Was he faking it?

Or had he gone crazy?

With a heavy heart, Chen Shu Yin undressed and sank into the bathtub. She held her breath until she couldn’t anymore, then gasped for air as she surfaced, staring blankly at her reflection in the water.

Marrying Pei Yu felt even worse than seeing him die.

She wondered how her first love was doing. They had made a promise to meet on Christmas four years after graduating high school.

If she counted the days, there were only a little over two months left.

Lying back in confusion, she happened to glance up—only to find a mirror on the ceiling, reflecting everything in the bathroom.

Who in their right mind puts a mirror on the bathroom ceiling?!

She immediately lowered her head in embarrassment. The water rippled, making her pale skin glow like jade. From her ankles up, countless ambiguous marks covered her body, blooming like red flowers in the waves.

Chen Shu Yin groaned and covered her face.

It was all over.
