The place she had in mind was the Wei family residence.

The workshop had only been established recently, so it was the part of her work that concerned her the most.

Zhang Qian had a good grasp of everything.
He rarely made mistakes when answering Ye Xin Ran’s questions.
“This step here requires extra attention. During mixing, the temperature and heat must remain stable,” Ye Xin Ran reiterated as she emphasized the key points.
Then she said to Zhang Qian, “I’ll be away for a while, so I’m leaving the workshop entirely in your hands.”
Zhang Qian looked flustered. “Madam, I’m really not skilled at this.”

“But our mission here is to protect you. If you leave Yun Bian Village, Ding Qiao and I should accompany you.”

“Understood, Madam. I will follow your orders!” Zhang Qian said with conviction.
Ding Qiao listened to the entire conversation between Ye Xin Ran and Zhang Qian. Upon hearing that she would be accompanying Ye Xin Ran to the capital, she immediately agreed.
“I will stay by Madam’s side and follow her arrangements,” Ding Qiao said.
Ye Xin Ran reiterated, “Although both of you were assigned to me by Huai’an, I dislike having subordinates whose loyalties are divided. If you cannot dedicate yourselves fully to serving me, then there’s no need for you two to remain here.”
Hearing this, both Ding Qiao and Zhang Qian immediately knelt before Ye Xin Ran.
“We dare not, Madam. We will prioritize you above all else, work diligently, and follow your lead without question,” they vowed.
“Stand up,” Ye Xin Ran said.
With their assurances, Ye Xin Ran felt more at ease.
Next, she sought out the village chief.
In Yun Bian Village, no one had more authority or influence than the village chief. Besides Zhang Qian, Ye Xin Ran needed the village chief’s help to oversee the workshop in her absence.
“You’re leaving Yun Bian Village?” the chief asked in surprise after hearing her explanation.

The chief thought for a moment and then nodded. “Alright, it might be for the best. Seeing the people and things around here every day must inevitably remind you of the past.”
“Will you… come back?” he asked uncertainly.
“Of course!”
This time, Ye Xin Ran gave a genuine smile.
“The workshop is still here, and the tools for making money are still here. Of course, I’ll come back,” she said.
“Good, good!”
The chief’s furrowed brow finally relaxed.
“Go out and explore. Don’t worry about things here, I’ll keep an eye on everything for you. Are the three children going with you?”
“No,” Ye Xin Ran replied. “I’ve already arranged a place for them.”
