Chapter 34
Since the real owner said so, Bai Yan had no choice but to jump on him with her eyes closed.
Meng Hechuan put his arm through her knees and lifted her up easily, “Don’t underestimate yourself, you are very light, Bai Yan.”
Thick male hormones gushed out.
Bai Yan lay on his back, feeling again the hard feeling that almost broke her nose.
The distance was so close that she could even see the light blue veins on the back of Meng Hechuan’s neck.
“Hold tight.”
A clear voice came from the front. Although Meng Hechuan was carrying her on his back, he just used his arms to support her like a gentleman, trying to minimize the physical contact between the two of them. “I won, and you can still eat the duck leg.”
Lu Jili didn’t hear what they said and slid to the side, “Sister Ayan——”
He raised his hand and made a wiping motion at the throat, “I’ll tell you a secret, this is the weak spot of men, if you strangle him, we will definitely win later!”
Bai Yan couldn’t help laughing, “Everyone, get ready–“
Bai Yan said the word “start” close to Meng Hechuan’s ear in a low voice.
By the time Lu Jili reacted, Meng Hechuan had already slid two or three steps away.
“You’re so good, are all the people in your team idiots? The top beam is not straight, and the bottom beam is crooked!”
He skated very fast and had no difficulty at all even when carrying Bai Yan on his back.
The wind whistled past Bai Yan’s ears. Bai Yan’s feet left the ground and she was on Meng Hechuan’s back, feeling like she was flying on a sword.
She caught a glimpse of Lu Jili catching up with her out of the corner of her eye, and was so excited that she even forgot to keep a distance from him for a moment.
Bai Yan slapped his shoulder fiercely, “Hurry up, Captain Lu is catching up!”
The girl’s laughter was like the sound of wind chimes, tinkling and gently rippling in Meng Hechuan’s heart.
After a back and forth, Meng Hechuan once again crossed the finish line first with Bai Yan on his back.
Lu Jili was unhappy, and chased back to the starting point to grab Bai Yan to settle the score.
After much persuasion, Bai Yan agreed to go buy a string of candied haws nearby to apologize, and the matter was let go.
After Bai Yan came back from the outer circle, jumping up and down to buy candied haws, Meng Hechuan asked her, “Why are you only wearing one skate?”
Bai Yan and Lu Jili each had a candied haws. I was a little embarrassed in my hand, “I’ve never skated before, I’m afraid I’ll fall if I wear both of them.”
Lu Jili was chewing a candied haws beside him. Hearing this, he came over and said, “Sister Yan, after all this time, you still can’t skate? Come on, let our Chief Engineer Meng teach you! Chief Engineer Meng is the best at flying airplanes, and this is his first time to cheat at skating.”
After saying that, she quickly finished the candied haws, clapped her hands, kicked her feet, turned around and skated to the center of the ice rink to act like a butterfly.
Bai Yan looked at Meng Hechuan awkwardly. She didn’t know whether to eat or not eat the candied haws in her hand.
“Chief Engineer Meng, you can go play with Captain Lu. I know how to put on my shoes now. I’ll just hold on to the railing and watch how others skate.”
“No.” Meng Hechuan’s emotions were controlled. Just now he had a faint smile on his face, but now his face turned back into an icy poker face. “This is outside.”
What he meant was that he was afraid that Bai Yan would run away after leaving the team, so he stayed to keep an eye on her.
Bai Yan didn’t care. Since he wanted to make a humanoid monitor, she was happy to have a labor force.
She lifted her foot and said, “I see your shoes are firmly worn on your feet, why are mine so loose?”
Meng Hechuan looked down at the skates she was wearing and said, “You tied your shoelaces wrong. If you tie them loosely, they will easily fall off in the middle of a skate. It’s very dangerous.”
He raised his chin and gave a concise instruction, “Sit down.”
Bai Yan sat down obediently.
Meng Hechuan bent down and picked up the other shoe, half-crouching in front of Bai Yan, “Lift your foot.”
Bai Yan blushed slightly and quickly refused: “Chief Engineer Meng, if you show me once, I will understand it myself.”
Meng Hechuan pulled up his sleeves, looking calm, “Ice skates are hard to wear, and we often need to help each other put them on.”
After he said that, Bai Yan couldn’t insist any longer and lifted her foot up.
He clamped the ice skates between his knees and used his nimble fingers to pull the laces in for her one by one. When he reached the button, he tied a section first, then wrapped the laces from bottom to top, tying them one by one.
Repeat the same steps with the other foot.
After putting on his shoes, Meng Hechuan motioned Bai Yan to stand up.
Suddenly, a pair of ice skates with a narrow slit were put on her feet, and Bai Yan didn’t dare to stand.
“Hold on to the railing and stand up slowly.”
Bai Yan moved her butt to the railing and looked up awkwardly, “I have a candied haws in my hand…”
She would never be willing to stand up if she didn’t have both hands to hold on to.
“Why don’t you go play first, I’ll try it myself later…”
“Give it to me.” Meng Hechuan stretched out his hand.
Bai Yan blinked and looked at the broad palm in front of her. Somehow, her mind went blank and she stretched out her empty hand.
When their fingertips touched, Meng Hechuan’s eyes widened slightly without leaving any trace.
“I mean give me the candied haws and I’ll hold them for you.”
Bai Yan withdrew her hand as if she had been electrocuted, and was so embarrassed that she almost dug her toes into the ground.
Yes!
Of course he was referring to the candied haws. How could I be so stupid as to extend my hand to him?
The girl lowered her head because she felt embarrassed, and Meng Hechuan could even clearly see two whorls on her head.
Meng Hechuan also has two whorls on his head. When he was a child, the old man of the Meng family often praised his eldest grandson, saying that those with two whorls on their heads were the smartest and never suffered any losses.
Meng Hechuan recalled that Bai Yan refused to suffer any loss in the bookstore.
I couldn’t help but agree in my heart that what the old man said was indeed true.
Seeing Bai Yan adjust her mood and look up again, Meng Hechuan also restrained his other thoughts.
He took the candied haws that she was holding tightly.
Bai Yan’s hands were empty, and she heard his clear voice saying to her: “Now try it, stand up.”
With her hands free to grab the railing, Bai Yan naturally became bolder.
She stood up slowly, and Meng Hechuan bent down to check whether the shoe uppers fit her feet.
After confirming that there were no safety issues, Meng Hechuan gestured to her, “You can lift your feet and try to walk.”
Bai Yan held onto the railing and slowly raised her feet, and Meng Hechuan followed closely beside her.
After all, having just seen his skating posture and techniques, Bai Yan still felt quite safe.
Plus, she was smart, and after walking around once holding the railing, she gradually got used to the presence of the ice skates. When she went back and walked around again, she became bolder and slowly dared to let go of one hand.
Bai Yan laughed excitedly and turned to look at the person next to her, “Did you see that I just slipped a little bit?”
Meng Hechuan followed her all the time, and as her speed increased, he also put his hands behind his back and skated on the ice.
He nodded, “But you applied force in the wrong place just now. Your body should be leaning forward slightly, not hunching your back and shrinking your head.”
Bai Yan adjusted her posture according to his instructions, slowly released her hands, and when she found that she could stand firmly on the ice, she excitedly said to Meng Hechuan: “I can stand now!”
“Try sliding it?”
“I’m afraid…”
Almost all of the people who were practicing by the railings were parents with their children. Seeing that the boys and girls were handsome, they all encouraged them with a smile, “Girl, your partner is tall and mighty, and he looks very reliable. You can skate without worry, he will definitely protect you!”
Their relationship was misunderstood by everyone that day.
Bai Yan’s neck flushed and she waved her hands to explain, “No, he is not me…”
Before he could finish his words, Meng Hechuan’s eyes suddenly changed, “Be careful!”
Bai Yan, who was flying in the air with one hand, only had time to hear his warning before someone hit her hard from behind.
She flew out, and for some reason, she saw a pair of ice skates that no one was wearing out of nowhere.
The ice blade on the sole of the shoe was pointing directly at her fallen face.
If Bai Yan falls down, her face will definitely be scratched by the ice knife!
