Shang Xingyu had come early this morning to find Shang Xinglu.
He still had work, so he came early.
And since this matter was urgent, he couldn’t wait until the evening. So, he came straight to Shanhai Guan in the morning.
The reason was simple.
His stepfather and stepmother had turned his room into a space to store his stepmother’s piano collection.
His stepsister assigned him to another room, which was bad enough, but when he went home to grab his keys and card, his trashy father and stepmother wouldn’t even trust him and said, “If you want it, go ask your sister.”
So, he had no choice but to come here and beg his stepsister.
Coming early in the morning meant he was really fed up with the company dorm.
Shang Xingyu was a familiar figure at Shanhai Guan.
He walked straight in and waited in the guest room.
After all, there were boundaries between men and women. He couldn’t just barge into his sister’s bedroom so early, right?
Although this sister was more “distant” than his stepsister, that still wouldn’t be appropriate.
Marilyn came in to inform Shang Xinglu that Shang Xingyu had arrived.
When Marilyn entered, she kept her head down, acting as a pure messenger, pretending she saw nothing.
Inside, Shang Xinglu’s bedroom, which had once been the master bedroom, was now a chaotic scene.
A man and woman were intimately embracing on the Kingsize bed, their bodies naked outside the dark blanket, the bed sheets messy and showing an unexpectedly intimate scene.
Hearing the noise, Lin Heng was the first to open his eyes.
He made a “shh” gesture, signaling silence.
It seemed that the person who was more “distant” than his stepsister was, in fact, his stepsister’s husband.
However, his stepsister, feeling guilty, wasn’t sleeping deeply.
She heard the sound, and her eyelashes fluttered before she opened her eyes.
What she saw was Lin Heng’s handsome face, the unglamorous, glasses-free version, staring at her deeply.
Shang Xinglu: “…”
She wanted to forget everything.
She turned to her side, pretending to have amnesia, and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Marilyn reported the situation truthfully.
At this moment, Shang Xingyu, waiting outside, couldn’t stand it any longer.
He didn’t have time to wait. He had to go back to the company, and this place was far from there. It would take forever to drive.
Even if his sister was more distant than his stepsister, at worst, she would just break his legs.
Without waiting for permission, Shang Xingyu barged in, walking inside while complaining, “How come you’re still not up? It’s already noon! You’re so lazy. Give me the keys, and then go back to sleep!”
Shang Xinglu immediately shot up from the bed!
“Marilyn, quick, block the door!”
Then Shang Xinglu jumped out of bed and started pushing Lin Heng off, searching frantically for her clothes. Lin Heng, being quick, grabbed her nightgown and handed it to her. Shang Xinglu snatched it away and quickly put it on while continuing to grab other clothes.
Lin Heng, however, remained calm and methodical.
Shang Xinglu threw on a coat and, seeing how slow he was and hearing Shang Xingyu’s footsteps drawing nearer, became even more agitated.
She grabbed and tugged at him, picking up things from the floor, pushing him as she gathered his belongings, stuffing them under the bed.
However, Lin Heng’s weight was far beyond what Shang Xinglu could move. If he didn’t budge, she would immediately get upset.
Shang Xinglu kept tugging, pulling, and picking things up, eventually stuffing Lin Heng into the closet.
Deep, deep inside the wardrobe.
Once that was done, Shang Xinglu finally allowed Marilyn to open the door.
As soon as the door was opened, Shang Xinglu saw Lin Heng’s shoes.
She grabbed the shoes and opened the door, shoving them into Lin Heng’s arms.
Meanwhile, Lin Heng, reluctantly hiding in the pitch-black closet, glanced at the surrounding clothes.
Lin Heng: “…”
He then looked down at the shoes in his arms.
Lin Heng: “…………”
He didn’t understand. Although he was now her ex-husband, there were so many couples who remarried. Why did he have to hide like this?
Just as Shang Xinglu closed the closet door behind her, Shang Xingyu walked in.
Shang Xinglu leaned against the door, her smile warm as spring, though she felt guilty, “What’s up so early?”
Shang Xingyu, however, had a cold expression, his gaze sweeping over the disheveled bed, his eyes turning even colder as his gaze shifted back to Shang Xinglu.
Shang Xinglu: “…………”
Emmmmmmmmm……
Was this sharp, cat-like gaze of Shang Xingyu’s actually coming from his body? Had he been possessed?
But silence was the guilty party.
Shang Xinglu was the one feeling guilty. Not only had she taken him back, but she’d also taken more than just one bite! So she stayed silent.
She not only stayed silent, but sweat also formed on her forehead.
Shang Xingyu, at this point, was genuinely angry.
He reached out with a trembling hand, pointing at the bed.
“Look, look! This luxurious bedding, this Kingsize bed! And look at your bedroom! The bathroom alone is bigger than my entire dorm! You live in such luxury and comfort, do you know your brother is suffering?!”
Shang Xinglu: “…”
Without a hint of guilt, she shook her head, “I don’t know, I forgot.”
Shang Xingyu continued his accusation, “You forgot, and so did Mom and Dad. Am I even your real brother? You still remember to ask Xiao Zai how things are at home, but you forgot to check in with me? Why do you care so much about Xiao Zai?”
As he said this, Shang Xinglu heard the words, but she had no special reaction.
She just answered truthfully, “Well, maybe you’re not my real brother.”
At that moment, someone who was still hidden deeply inside the closet felt something stirring in his heart.
But someone couldn’t say anything, nor did they have the chance to.
Shang Xingyu looked at her big bed with envy, but after staring for a bit longer, he noticed something wrong.
He asked, “Why is your bed so messy?”
Shang Xinglu didn’t respond.
Uh, wasn’t it everyone’s fault??
Shang Xingyu asked again, “From the head of the bed to the foot of the bed, are you digging tunnels like a mole?”
Shang Xinglu: “……”
Uh, maybe she wasn’t a mole digging tunnels, but rather the one causing the hole…
However, this metaphor was quite suggestive, and with Shang Xinglu’s rich imagination, her face immediately turned red.
She got angry and shouted, “Are you done yet?! Shang Xingyu, I warn you not to disturb me while I’m sleeping!”
Shang Xingyu felt wronged by her shouting.
He couldn’t help but think about Xiao Zai’s claim that he was going to chase his sister, and how his sister seemed to care a lot about Xiao Zai.
Suddenly, Shang Xingyu felt that his little brother privileges were being stolen by a black sesame ball in the form of his little brother.
Shang Xingyu said, “You must have a boyfriend now, that’s why you’re so impatient with me…”
Shang Xinglu: “???”
From behind the door, Lin Heng: “?!”
Who’s moving so fast?!
Shang Xingyu said with a sad tone, “I just came to get a key, and you yell at me… You actually yelled at me… How long has it been since you yelled at me?”
Shang Xinglu replied blankly, “I yelled at you on the phone just yesterday.”
Shang Xingyu: “……”
Well, that’s true.
But Shang Xingyu wasn’t done yet with his performance. “Anyway, you’re a sister with a significant other and no humanity! I’m the weak, helpless, and pitiful one…”
Shang Xinglu couldn’t take it anymore.
She took off her slipper and threw it at Shang Xingyu’s head, “Get lost! Go get the key from Marilyn, and don’t bother me while I’m trying to sleep!”
The slipper fell off his head, and while it didn’t hurt, as Shang Xingyu, the younger brother, was used to it, he thought getting the key was a happy occasion, so what could he complain about?
But as he followed Marilyn out, he looked at the slipper in his hand…
Wait a minute, isn’t this a men’s slipper?
Shang Xingyu: “!”
Suddenly, he turned around, and as the bedroom door closed behind him, he saw his sister, who should have been going back to sleep, walking straight into the closet…
Shang Xingyu: “!!!”
Hiding a man???
Holy crap, she really has a boyfriend?!
How could it happen this quickly?!
Could it be her ex-husband, no, no, her ex-husband before, not Shen’s ex-husband, but Lin’s ex-husband who had a whole field of grass growing on his head before their divorce?!
Shang Xingyu couldn’t help but murmur, “Amitabha.”
Ugh, his sister really is a jerk.
A jerk to him, and even worse to others…
Back inside the room, Shang Xinglu opened the closet door and saw Lin Heng holding a pair of leather shoes, his shirt collar open, standing emotionlessly among a pile of women’s clothes.
Shang Xinglu immediately felt guilty.
She stammered, “Uh… Lin Heng, what we’re doing here… isn’t quite right. How about we reflect together and don’t do this next time?”
Lin Heng narrowed his eyes.
His gaze became sharp in an instant.
Lin Heng walked out of the closet, threw the shoes on the floor, and took a step forward. Shang Xinglu unconsciously took a step back.
Although he wasn’t moving quickly, the pressure he exuded was overwhelming, making her afraid to meet his eyes.
She kept retreating, retreating… and then…
Wait! No, no, no!
She had emphasized so many times, this was her territory!
Her space!!!
Shang Xinglu straightened her neck and raised her head to look at Lin Heng. But after just one glance, she turned and ran!
Ah!!!
However, her escape was already too late. She had backed herself into a corner. Lin Heng extended his arm, blocking her left escape route.
Then, with another move, he slammed his other arm against the wall, cutting off her right path too.
Shang Xinglu looked up at him and swallowed nervously.
“Big guy, let’s talk this out, okay?”
Whether it’s a robbery of color or money, it’s all negotiable!
After all, her money came from Lin Heng, and as for the color… who knows who’s robbing who?
Lin Heng’s face was like ice. He lowered his voice and asked, “Why?”
Shang Xinglu continued to swallow nervously.
Why? Who keeps clinging to their ex-husband, constantly rehashing past breakups…?
Lin Heng asked, “Is it really like Shang Xingyu said? Have you got a new boyfriend?”
“Who is it? Shen Wang? Or Xiao Zai, Shang Xingyu’s friend? Or someone else I don’t know?”
Shang Xinglu froze.
Huh?
At this moment, she sniffed around like a dog looking for food.
After a moment, under Lin Heng’s cold stare, she waved her hand in front of her nose.
“Why does it smell so sour? Mr. Lin, didn’t you notice?”
The famous Mr. Lin: “……”
Who’s not a vinegar jar nowadays?
