Transmigrating into an Apocalypse Novel: Hoarding Ten Billion Supplies and Clinging to the Villain’s Thigh Chapter 31: Learning Outcomes

As they continued upwards, Shuxin and Yan Mo discovered a company that was planning to do live streaming. From the supplies they had stored, it seemed they were focusing on food broadcasting. The warehouse was filled with all kinds of food, and there were also several large freezers packed to the brim.

Though food wasn’t their primary goal today, they wouldn’t turn it down if they found it. They weren’t fools, after all.

The top ten floors had been thoroughly searched by Shuxin and Yan Mo, and now they looked empty. The two didn’t linger, quickly heading downstairs.

The lower ten floors, having been flooded by three months of torrential rain, didn’t have much valuable left. In fact, three of the floors were completely frozen beneath a thick layer of ice. For Bo Xiangwen and Mu Qi Mai, there were only seven floors left to search.

The once neat and orderly offices, soaked and washed by the flood, had become unrecognizable. Some items were so damaged that their original shapes couldn’t even be identified. Luckily, these weren’t in the areas they were searching, or they would have really gone crazy.

Anything that had been submerged and washed away didn’t have much value. Companies that relied on core scientific technologies to compete wouldn’t leave valuable items lying around in the open. They would store them in places where only authorized people could access them, in safe, secure locations.

Through the debris and piles of junk outside, it took some effort, but they finally found the safe hidden in the CEO’s office behind a secret compartment.

The process was nearly the same for the remaining companies. By the time Shuxin and Yan Mo made it downstairs to meet up with Bo Xiangwen and Mu Qi Mai, they found the two surrounded by eight or nine different safes of various sizes, as well as over a dozen sealed glass containers, each filled with newly sprouted seedlings. At the moment, it was impossible to tell what kind of plants they were.

Once again, using Yan Mo’s cover, Shuxin collected everything into her space. She also took out some of the food they had found in the live-streaming company upstairs and filled all four backpacks.

As they neared the neighborhood, the four of them stopped in a pre-scouted corner. They took out their black backpacks, which they had prepared as disguises, and slung them over their shoulders before heading in the direction of their community.

It was hard to tell whether it was because they all looked young and were carrying backpacks, but they quickly caught the attention of a group of people, who blocked their path as soon as they entered the neighborhood.

Most of the group were men, holding various makeshift weapons they had scavenged from their homes. It seemed they were likely residents of the same building, coming together to rob people returning to the neighborhood in order to gather survival supplies.

Shuxin and the others stopped in their tracks. Standing behind Yan Mo, Shuxin sized up the group of a dozen or so people.

Just from the look in their eyes, Shuxin could tell that a fight was inevitable. The leader of the group was clearly a smart one—he didn’t waste time with the usual pre-robbery threats. Instead, he simply turned around and signaled to the others behind him to raise their weapons and charge.

Shuxin and the others, having developed a tacit understanding over their time together, didn’t need any extra words or gestures. Without hesitation, they drew the knives they had ready.

This was the first time Shuxin was truly fighting with real weapons, and although she felt a slight nervousness and discomfort, what she felt more was excitement.

The unfamiliar thrill of the situation sent a rush of energy through her, making her mind sharp and focused.

After more than three months of brutal training, Shuxin had not had many opportunities to test her skills. Now was the perfect time to evaluate her progress.
