Transmigrating into an Apocalypse Novel: Hoarding Ten Billion Supplies and Clinging to the Villain’s Thigh Chapter 8: Date First, Love Later

Previously, when browsing the school forum and reviewing the original owner’s memories, I had seen what Yan Mo looked like. However, he was nowhere near as striking in person as he was on the internet.

No wonder half of the girls at school were Yan Mo’s devoted fans—who could resist such a beautiful face?

Other people may not know, but one thing’s for sure—Shu Xin couldn’t resist it. It only took three seconds for her to completely fall under his charm.

Facing this close-range visual shock, Shu Xin felt her mind go fuzzy. Her mouth couldn’t control itself.

“Senior, can I ask if you have a girlfriend?”

Hearing such a direct question, Yan Mo was momentarily stunned, his lips curling into a faint smile. His eyes, hidden behind the glasses, briefly flashed with a sharp gleam that was too quick to catch.

“No.”

“Then, what do you think of me? How about we start a relationship?” Shu Xin said, pausing to observe Yan Mo’s reaction. Seeing that he didn’t seem repulsed, she quickly continued, “Although we’ve only just met, we can start by dating and slowly build our feelings. After all, isn’t the trend now ‘marriage first, love later’? We could give that a try.”

Yan Mo raised an eyebrow, his expression not changing even though she’d just said something bold.

It wasn’t until after she finished speaking that Shu Xin’s brain caught up with what she’d just blurted out. She couldn’t take it back now, though—doing so would make her seem careless and ruin her chances with Yan Mo. She had to keep up the act of not taking romance lightly.

Shu Xin could only force herself to maintain eye contact, nervously awaiting his response. Her heart was beating so fast she could barely breathe.

Just as she thought her heart would explode, Yan Mo finally spoke.

“Sure, I agree.”

“Huh? Huh?!” The unexpected answer caught Shu Xin off guard. Her shocked expression was out of her control.

Ding—the elevator doors opened.

It was the floor where Shu Xin lived.

Before exiting the elevator, Shu Xin quickly exchanged numbers with him and groggily opened her door to her home.

Everything had happened too quickly and unexpectedly, it all felt like a dream. It wasn’t until she received a new friend request on WeChat that she started to feel the situation become real.

The note attached to the friend request was simple and direct—three words: Boyfriend.

Those three words slowly consumed her vision, and the excitement and happiness that hit her later made Shu Xin want to scream in joy.

Considering the thin walls and the likely lack of soundproofing, she held back her scream, but that didn’t stop her from happily bouncing around the room.

She clicked “Accept” on the friend request, and a new message came through.

Y: I thought I had dialed the wrong number because you hadn’t accepted the request for so long.

Shu Xin: No, no.

Shu Xin: I was just too happy, I still can’t believe you agreed to be my boyfriend.

Yan Mo smiled as he read the message, his eyes glinting with amusement. So happy, huh?

Y: Do you have any plans tomorrow morning?

Shu Xin: No, do you need something?

Y: Didn’t you say we should build feelings? How about we have breakfast together tomorrow morning? Is 7 AM good?

Shu Xin: Okay, my boyfriend. I’ll see you downstairs at 7!

Yan Mo put down his phone and walked into the bathroom with a fresh set of clothes.

His agreement with Shu Xin today wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision; it was, in fact, influenced by his attraction. Shu Xin’s looks ticked all his boxes, and he was just a regular guy with his own standards for a partner.

He hadn’t been in a relationship before simply because he hadn’t met someone who caught his eye. Now that he had, he had no reason to hesitate.

When Shu Xin looked in the mirror, her excitement came to a screeching halt.

Who could tell her what kind of ridiculous image this was?! Her hair, disheveled from the fall, made her look like a goofy, cute dinosaur in a one-piece pajamas that made her look less than intelligent.

This was the appearance she had used to ask for a relationship with her future golden leg for the next several decades!

Oh, heavens! Lightning, please strike me down!

This was completely the opposite of the image she had wanted to leave on Yan Mo.

And now she couldn’t help but wonder: Could it be that Yan Mo agreed so easily because she looked so ridiculous? Was he just sparing her feelings, afraid of hurting her fragile heart? That would explain why he reluctantly agreed.

No! She couldn’t let that happen!

She must show up tomorrow in a perfect image, one that would make Yan Mo see her in a completely different light.

But…

Reality was cruel…

Because she had stayed up late picking out clothes, Shu Xin overslept the next morning and didn’t hear the alarm on her phone at all.

It wasn’t until Yan Mo knocked on her door and called her twice before he woke her up. Half-conscious, she answered the phone and heard his voice.

At that moment, it felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck her, and she bolted out of bed, sitting upright in sheer panic!

Without even putting on slippers, she rushed out of her room and opened the door, only to see her newly minted boyfriend in his workout clothes, clearly just coming back from exercising.

“Sorry… I overslept…”

Shu Xin glanced at Yan Mo, feeling embarrassed by her laziness. She lowered her head, too ashamed to look at his face.

She had been the one to ask to date him, and now she was late for their first date—how unforgivable!

If this had happened to someone else, she would have been furious.

Oh no, how can I lose my freshly acquired boyfriend like this?!

“It’s fine, just go put on your shoes. Don’t stand on the cold floor barefoot, you might catch a cold.”

Looking at the girl in front of him, her head lowered in shame, Yan Mo couldn’t resist reaching out and ruffling her messy hair.

She was just too cute, and it was impossible to be angry with her. He just wanted to hold her and cuddle her.

But it wasn’t the right time; it could scare her.

Yan Mo rubbed his fingers together, savoring the soft touch from earlier, suppressing his impulses. He stepped into her house, casually closing the door behind him.

Seeing that her boyfriend wasn’t angry, Shu Xin beamed and hugged him before running back to her room to put on shoes and get ready.

In less than 12 hours, Yan Mo had already seen her twice in less-than-perfect outfits, and Shu Xin had given up trying to look pristine.

Who cares!

She was born free-spirited and unrestrained!

Countless thoughts galloped through her mind, but her body was honest, moving quickly to get ready. She changed into the outfit she had carefully chosen the night before.
