Chapter 30: Divorce
Tang Xin was stunned.
What nonsense had she been doing?
All she wanted was to pin him against the wall!
Though she had lifted her leg and stepped on the wall behind his chair, technically making it a “half-wall pin,” it didn’t feel like she had achieved the full effect.
Plus, she had already kissed him and confessed her feelings. By logic, that should fulfill the requirements of Little Beauty’s task. So why hadn’t Little Beauty announced her success yet?
What now? Did she need to continue?
She glanced up at the man, silently questioning: Do I need to try a “floor pin” next?
With that thought, she reached out and clung to his leg.
“Tang Xin…” Yue Yuze’s expression turned even darker.
Tang Xin tightened her grip on his right leg, exclaiming, “Ah, even just holding onto your leg makes me feel immensely happy…”
“Idiot!”
The word didn’t come from Yue Yuze but from the system, Little Beauty.
Tang Xin: “…” You’re the idiot! I wouldn’t be doing this if you weren’t forcing me!
Yue Yuze’s lips twitched as he struggled to process the absurdity before him. Tang Xin sneaked a glance at him but quickly looked away. She couldn’t bring herself to look for long, worried he might strangle her in a fit of disdain.
Still, she buried her head and tightened her grip on his lean, well-defined leg. In doing so, she missed the fleeting, exasperated smile hidden in his icy gaze.
“Yuze…” Suddenly, someone opened the door and walked in.
The voice was familiar. Tang Xin and Yue Yuze simultaneously turned to the visitor.
The room fell into an awkward silence.
Tang Xin, sprawled on the floor in her revealing outfit, was clinging to Yue Yuze’s leg in an incredibly suggestive position. Lin Shiyin, who had just entered, froze in disbelief, her eyes widening before filling with tears. Without a word, she turned and ran out.
Oh no…
This was a scene straight out of a drama—unexpected and completely chaotic!
Tang Xin looked up at Yue Yuze. “Aren’t you going to chase after her?” Your future wife clearly misunderstood the situation. If you don’t explain, you’re not going to have a fiancée anymore… though if you leave now, my task might fail.
With that thought, Tang Xin tightened her grip further, as though afraid he might really leave. It made her look like a hypocritical woman—urging her “husband” to chase after another woman while physically clinging to him as if to stop him.
Yue Yuze arched a brow and asked coldly, “How long do you plan on holding onto me?”
“I…” I don’t want to either, but believe it or not… I have no choice!
Tang Xin thickened her skin and remained on the floor, clutching his leg while silently urging Little Beauty to hurry up.
Finally, Little Beauty’s voice sounded: Congratulations, transmigrator, on completing the task. You’ve collected 500 fragments needed to unlock the answer. Would you like to unlock it now?
It was done?
Tang Xin beamed with joy, immediately letting go of Yue Yuze’s leg and springing to her feet. Without hesitation, she retreated. “Sorry for disturbing you, Yue Yuze… Just pretend I was having a mental breakdown earlier. Honestly, I don’t have any designs on you. You’re not even my type, so rest assured, okay? Hahaha…”
She was ecstatic! She could almost feel herself returning home—it was within reach!
For several seconds, Yue Yuze stood there in shock, stunned by how quickly the woman’s attitude had flipped. By the time he came to his senses, she was already gone.
His expression darkened further.
Flirt with me and then leave without taking responsibility?
Could she at least have a little integrity?
Returning to his desk, Yue Yuze tried to focus on his work but found himself lost in thought, distracted by that maddening woman. He couldn’t shake the memory of her ridiculous antics, much to his own frustration.
Meanwhile, back in her room, Tang Xin lay comfortably on the bed, applying a face mask. With great satisfaction, she summoned Little Beauty to unlock the answer.
The answer was surprisingly simple.
“Before the male lead falls in love with you, successfully divorce him.”
If Tang Xin completed this ultimate task, she could return to her original world.
Tang Xin: “…” What the heck, this is too easy!
Yue Yuze clearly despised her and could never possibly love her. If she suggested a divorce, he’d probably be overjoyed and drag her to the Civil Affairs Bureau first thing in the morning.
“Alright, that’s easy enough. I’ll just wait a few days for the right moment to bring up the divorce.”
