Standing in front of the boat, Jiang Yufeng’s eagle eyes looked around the surrounding area. Because of this long-term war, it was not uncommon to find abandoned ships floating in the river and abandoned houses in this country. After making sure that there was no movement nearby, he ordered: “Three people go down and move the boat away, let our boat pass.”
Azhi nodded his head, putting down the guns on his shoulders with the other two brothers, took off his clothes again, and prepared to swim across to the boat.
The distance between the two boats was less than twenty meters apart.
Qiao Wen walked to the bow, and looked around with a frown, always feeling that something was wrong. Although it had been quiet for a long time after entering the jungle hinterland, it was a bit too quiet here, there was simply a kind of eerie silence.
As he saw Azhi and the others had swam over and, almost nearing the ghost ship, it suddenly dawned on him and called out loudly: “Quickly come back!” Then he turned back to the helmsman and said, “Go Back! Go Back!”
Even though Jiang Yufeng had no idea what was happening, seeing his reaction, he instinctively echoed in a loud voice: “Quick, quick, quick!”
Hearing their call, the three people who had just swam to the side of the abandoned fishing boat hurriedly turned around and swam back. The helmsman also scrambled to start the motor and back.
In just five seconds, the hulk ship, along with a loud bang, suddenly exploded and the monstrous flames erupted and spread like a volcano. The calm water raised a turbulent wave, and the cargo ship that was retreating rapidly was almost overturned by this huge wave.
Qiao Wen was the first to react and was already lying on the ground when the sound of an explosion sounded, but his body was still rolled uncontrollably for an unknown distance, and was about to overturn the boat, but fortunately, a hand caught him in time.
Chen Jianan put one foot on the deck to stabilize his body, and pulled Qiao Wen back. In the violent shaking, the people standing on the boat fell to the ground in disorder, and there was no time to assess what happened.
As Chen Jianan hauled him back to the deck, in the corner of his eyes he caught a glimpse of several wet figures climbing up from the stern like ghosts and demons. Despite the violent shaking, these people’s pace kept steady, and almost instantly leapt to the front of the ship.
Jiang Yufeng was the first to stand up, so he naturally became the first target.
All he saw was a knife blade glinting with a cold light, which had already reached his neck between lightning and flint.
“Watch Out!” Qiao Wen yelled.
Meanwhile, Chen Jianan, who was still lying on the board of the boat, also caught a glimpse of the movement. Almost at the same time as his voice fell, he kicked his feet, his body on the board of the boat, swirled, and instantly turned to the side of Jiang Yufeng’s side and kicked the man with the knife off the boat.
Jiang Yufeng also recovered from the dizziness at this time, and couldn’t help being shocked, but he didn’t have the time to thank him, because other people had already rushed in.
Being too close, they had no chance to raise a gun, and had to fight close up. However, Jiang Yufeng reacted quickly, almost immediately pulling off the spikes on the gun.
In an instant, more than a dozen people were on board. These bandits were short and thin, and they looked like teenagers, and were supposed to have been lurking in the jungle for a long time, waiting for passing ships to rob, they had a set of experienced combat techniques.
The swaying ship greatly weakened the combat effectiveness of Jiang Yufeng’s men, but for these teenage bandits of the jungle, it was like walking on flat ground. Within a few moments, the Jiang Yufeng’s men got injured.
In order not to cause trouble to others, Qiao Wen did not get up, and only shrank his body under the upper deck, wishing to be an invisible person.
Chen Jianan was not only quick-witted but also the cleverest one. At first, he stood to fight these little water monkey-like bandits, but soon realized it was difficult to exert his strength due to the ship’s shaking, so he fell to the ground and used leg kung fu. Whenever these monkeys approached, he would wring them hard, knock the person to the ground, and then follow up with his fists.
Soon, he brought down four or five, the rest of them were tangled with Jiang Yufeng near the cabin. He wanted to help him, but at the same time he didn’t dare to be too far away from Qiao Wen.
Qiao Wen knew his concerns, and of course he could not drag them down.
He picked up a dagger from the ground, and when Chen Jianan knocked out a water monkey again and threw it into the water, he said, “Brother Nan, go and help Brother Feng.”
Chen Jianan looked at the raging battle ahead, then looked back at him: “Then be careful.”
Qiao Wen said: “I’m fine.”
By now the explosion was over, only a little residual wave remained, and the ship stabilized slightly. Chen Jianan no longer needs to retain his strength, since this was not the Kowloon Walled City, so he went full.
With him on board, the bandits, who were agile but actually of average skill, were quickly knocked out of the water by them.
Qiao Wen hid under the deck, holding a dagger, nervously watching the melee ahead.
In fact, it’s not bloody. Both Jiang Yufeng and Chen Jianan clearly have reservations about these small road bandits. They rarely use one-shot killing methods, just overturned and kicked them into the water, whether dead or alive was dependent on their own destiny.
Qiao Wen was relieved to see the bandits on the boat getting over, but just then he caught a glimpse of a figure, climbing up from the water beside him.
He was really a child, should be only fourteen years old, but his eyes, the cruelty and coldness in his eyes shouldn’t match his age. He was going to step on to the fight, but caught Qiao Wen hiding figure on the deck, his dark eyes moved slightly, and he turned toward to stab him.
Qiao Wen was not a person to show good will to an evil one and clearly a one who was going to kill him, even if it was a child, he clenched his back teeth, and kicked the child hard. The two immediately scrambled together.
Although the child looks small, his strength was surprisingly great. Even though Qiao Wen was eighteen years old, he was still an 18-year-old sick seedling, so his strength was not as good as that of this child.
Fortunately, he had practiced fighting for many years and had been in field troops. Even if the body didn’t work, the skill was already imprinted on his bones.
He cleverly entangled the boy’s legs and pinched the numb point behind his elbow, successfully snatching the knife in his hand, then turned over and pressed the person down, raising the knife to stab him down.
Facing death, the boy’s dark and cold eyes finally showed a trace of the fear that a child should have.
Seeing this Qiao Wen felt a moment of compassion, and the knife in his hand paused in the air.
However, what he didn’t expect was that the boy suddenly pulled out an iron rod from his waist and stabbed towards his side. His reaction was actually very fast, and he realized that something was wrong when the boy touched his waist, but the reaction of this body was far slower than that of the brain.
Just as he was hustling aside, his body suddenly lightened and he was violently pulled apart.
Just as the iron rod touched his skin and was completely separated from him.
As he turned around, he saw it was Chen Jianan who pulled him away, and he quickly clutched the hand that was holding the iron rod, with a sharp twist, turned the other direction and put down the stab, just in time to stab the boy’s neck.
For a moment, blood poured out, sprayed on his hand, and even splashed on Qiao Wen’s clothes next to him.
The people on the boat had been cleaned up, Jiang Yufeng walked over and quickly threw the child who was still convulsing into the river, as if tossing a little animal.
Because it happened so fast, Qiao Wen was still stumped and half collapsed, gasping for air.
Chen Jianan thought he was frightened, so he casually rubbed the blood on his hands and hugged him: “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
Qiao Wen leaned on his chest, listening to his rapid heartbeat. He should also be terrified of the aftermath, right? After all, today was a real killing.
Qiao Wen didn’t have the heart of the Virgin Mary, but for a young man born under the red flag, even though he was mentally prepared, killing such a thing was still too far away from him.
