Isn’t this Jiang Yufeng?
When did Hexingshe Double Red Stick change his career to become paparazzi? How come I don’t know?
Since returning from Vietnam, Qiao Wen had never met Jiang Yufeng again. Despite the deep bond they shared during the tumultuous times overseas, the currents of life had swept them onto divergent paths, never to cross again, after all, they weren’t on the same path so no one would come and knocking on other to meet and communicate with each other.
So now seeing a familiar figure in the distance, Qiao Wen simply thought that he had recognized the wrong person.
After all it was really hard to imagine the great double red stick to look like paparazzi. After a little hesitation, he walked over and patted his broad shoulder.
“Brother Feng!”
Jiang Yufeng, who was too engrossed in monitoring the celebrity was little jolted by this tap, and was surprised: “Awen, why are you here?”
Qiao Wen asked with a smile: “I should be the one to ask you this question, right?”
Jiang Yufeng looked at his “companion” left and right, took him to the side, and whispered: “My sister’s birthday is coming soon. She likes Li Xingchen very much recently and has always wanted his autographed photo. I inquired Li Xingchen was here today, so I brought a few photos to try my luck to see if I could get his signature.”
Qiao Wen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the absurdity of the situation and how far Jiang Yufeng is willing to go for his sister’s happiness.: “You pretended to be paparazzi just to ask for Li Xingchen’s autograph?”
Jiang Yufeng’s expression remained solemn yet a hint of embarrassment flickered across his face as he contemplated the situation: “I can’t go directly to stop people. It will only scare them to calling the police, right?”
Qiao Wen concurred with a nod, acknowledging Jiang Yufeng’s valid concern on the matter. If Jiang Yufeng were to dash forward with his typically icy demeanor and piercing gaze in an attempt to intercept the well-known celebrity, onlookers might easily misinterpret his actions, mistaking him for a potential abductor.
Such a misunderstanding could escalate the situation, possibly resulting in unnecessary panic or even lead to graver consequences. It was crucial for him to approach the situation with caution and a strategic plan to avoid any commotion or misguided perception of his actions.
He shook his head amusedly: “Being Brother Feng’s sister is truly a blessing.”
Jiang Yufeng sighed in a daze. “I can’t do much for her either, I just thought it would be good to do something small to make her happy for a while.” He paused in speech, as it occurred to him, he asked, “What about you? what are you doing here?”
“I ‘m also here to look for Li Xingchen. Our new clothing brand had been eager to collaborate with him for an advertising campaign, yet his proposed rates was beyond our budgetary constraints, so I thought of reaching out to him personally in an effort to explore potential negotiations.” Saying that Qiao Wen shrugged his shoulder, “Originally I arrived with the intention of mix into restaurant to look for an opportunities. I didn’t expect such a large restaurant to be all-inclusive. These rich and young people are really spending a lot of money.”
As the two of them were talking in the corner, the paparazzi hidden over the bushes exclaimed: “They’re coming out! They’re coming out!”
Qiao Wen and Jiang Yufeng both turned their heads simultaneously to the restaurant entrance, where their eyes fell upon the tall figure of Li Xingchen strolling out out of the restaurant.
The sunlight glinted off the lenses of his sleek black sunglasses, emphasizing his confident aura as he sported a crisp white shirt and impeccably tailored black pants that exuded an air of sophistication and refinement. Despite the stylish shades concealing his eyes and some of his features, the undeniable allure that exuded from his every gesture and step he took made it evident that he possessed a charismatic presence, which far surpassing his on-screen appearance.
In fact, Li Xingchen was mentioned in the original book, he later became a sworn brother of Lin Zihui and worked under his film company. Since the protagonist was Lin Zihui the book mostly focused on how he tackles the situation and climbs up.
His career lines were roughly skimmed over his film’s achievements and development history, like Mengzhen’s clothing brand, have not been described in detail. Li Xingchen was naturally just a background figure.
Before the eager paparazzi could fully encircle him with their flashing cameras and probing questions, a man beside him who looked three-pointers similar to him, swiftly moved to shield him from the chaotic crowd and the tall and intimidating bodyguards formed a protective barrier, allowing the man to be ushered hastily towards a sleek car with precision.
The relentless security detail left no room for the curious onlookers to approach him for any impromptu interviews.
The engine roared to life as the car smoothly pulled away from the scene, whisking the man away from the clamor and commotion of the paparazzi in the blink of an eye.
The entire operation was executed with such swiftness and efficiency, leaving the bystanders in awe of the well-coordinated efforts that ensured his swift and discreet departure from the public eye.
By the time Jiang Yufeng chased him over, he didn’t even touch the corners of his clothes, let alone getting the autographed photos. It can be seen that his “paparazzi” status today ended in failure.
Amidst the tumultuous sea of people eagerly engaging in the event, Qiao Wen stood out as a serene figure, calmand unperturbed by the commotion around him. He was just here to try his luck so he wasn’t dissapointed.
Rather than actively participating like the others, he simply lingered there to test his fate, a bystander in the truest sense.
Jian Yufeng walked up to Qiao Wen and spread his hands while smiling helplessly. “Let’s go, let’s go back together.”
Qiao Wen also shook his head with a good laugh.
Jiang Yufeng drove a small pickup truck over, and the two got into the car. Just as Qiao Wen was about to close the window, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a car passing next to him, to be precis the man sitting in the passenger seat was wiping a shiny machete.
He subconsciously glanced at Li Xingchen’s dark blue Mercedes-Benz in front of him. This black car was clearly following.
Qiao Wen lightly exclaimed: “It can’t be?”
Jiang Yufeng asked as he started the car, “What’s wrong?”
Qiao Wen said casually: “That car in front of us, it seems like they’re trying to kidnap Li Xingchen.”
“What?” Jiang Yufeng eyebrows frowned tightly and stepped on the accelerator to follow. “That won’t do. If something happens to Li Xingchen, won’t my sister be heartbroken.”
Qiao Wen: “???”
It was common for billionaires and celebrities getting kidnapped in Hong Kong. This was the responsibility of the police. He planned to go to the nearby police station to provide a clue, but he didn’t expect Jiang Yufeng to directly followed suit.
But seeing as the man in the car just now was holding a knife rather than guns, Qiao Wen thought he wasn’t a troublesome gangster. Assessing the situation further there were four people on Li Xingchen’s side, including the driver, and one of them was a tall bodyguard. It shouldn’t be that easy to kidnap someone.
Then he glanced at Jiang Yifeng-the double red stick of Hexing Society, he alone could handle seven or eight.
Therefore, Qiao Wen contemplated the possibility that with Jiang Yifeng’s intervention, the group might successfully thwart any imminent threat and emerge as heroes by saving the day in a decisive and impactful manner.
With this leak, Brother Feng could get a signed photo for his sister, and he could have the opportunity to talk directly with Li Xingchen about advertising.
So he sat in the co-pilot honestly and said nothing.
Li Xingchen seated in the back seat was calmly, as the Mercedes-Benz glided down the narrow, secluded lane it suddenly stopped. It turned out that there was a roadblock in the middle of the road ahead.
The driver stepped out of the car, with the intention of removing the barricade. But within a few step a car stopped beside him and a group of five individuals sprang out, brandishing knives, swarming the car, and aggressively attempting to drag its occupants out.
Demonstrating remarkable courage, the vigilant bodyguard sprang into action, bravely confronting the gangsters head-on as he defended the door with unyielding determination. Meanwhile, the elderly driver, who had initially set out to remove the roadblock, cowered in fear at the unfolding chaos, frozen in place as he trembled uncontrollably.
Jiang Yufeng parked the car and told Qiao Wen not to come out, before picking up a wrench from the car, rolled up his sleeves to reveal the mountain wind tattoos on his hands, got out of the car and rushed forward.
Qiao Wen leaned over the window and calmly watched the fight in front of him.
Thrilling!
Exciting!
After Jiang Yufeng used the wrench to open the scoops to the four gangsters, he slowly walked forward. As he approached the Mercedes, the fifth thug also clutched his head to the bottom.
Jiang Yufeng cast a fleeting yet piercing gaze at the trembling man before him, casually wiped the wrench in his hand, and stepped forward and opened the back door of the Mercedes.
The two men inside, one looking ghostly pale and the other howling, were obviously terrified.
Jiang Yufeng calmly wiped the blood on his hands, and asked, “Are you all right?”
This action of wiping the blood with his cold looks treacherous tattoos, all exudes the temperament of a murderous maniac. The young man who was crying and howling was so scared that even his tongue was knotted: “You…how much do you want? We will give it all. You, don’t hurt us.”
A crease formed between Jiang Yufeng’s brows as a flicker of recollection crossed his face. Retrieving a pair of photos from his pocket, he extended them towards the pale young man who didn’t say a word: “By the way, can you please sign me on the photo?”
