“Transmigrating into the Wealthy Family as the Biological Mother, I’m Laughing So Hard!” Chapter 16

Chapter 16: Tingling, Tingling Mama

“Not allowed… Why not?”

Is it because Gu Nanyan is here this time?

Qin Yuwei bit her lip, growing more and more unwilling.

But once she thought that Gu Nanyan had already offended the entire Shen family, and that there would be no good outcome for her if she went, Qin Yuwei felt a little more at ease.

Turning her head, she saw that the family of three had already entered the dining room. She quickly suppressed her expression and followed them in.

Gu Nanyan sat at the dining table, but her thoughts were far from the breakfast in front of her.

Although Qin Yuwei had a thick skin, she had provided Gu Nanyan with some useful information.

Old Lady Shen has a recurring headache problem?

After breakfast, Gu Nanyan, along with her husband and son, got into the Rolls-Royce to head to the Shen family’s old mansion.

Gu Nanyan had prepared herself mentally, but when the moment came to leave, her heart still couldn’t help but tighten with nervousness.

The Shen and Gu families had been close for generations, and the Shen family had watched her grow up and had always treated her with great fondness. But after she caused a scene at the Shen family, all relations had been severed.

It had already been more than three years.

Hopefully, they had already forgotten about the past…

No matter what, she was prepared to apologize.

Gu Nanyan clenched her hands tightly and turned her gaze towards the window, trying to calm her nerves by focusing on the outside view.

“Don’t worry. They won’t make things difficult for you.”

A deep, magnetic voice came from beside her.

Shen Boyan was holding Little Mumu, who had fallen asleep in his arms the moment they got in the car. At that moment, the child was soundly sleeping, leaning against his father.

Gu Nanyan heard the voice and turned to look at Shen Boyan.

But Shen Boyan was not looking at her. His deep, dark eyes were focused on his sleeping son.

Gu Nanyan couldn’t help but sigh. Shen Boyan was really a good father.

Since Little Mumu was born, no matter how busy his work was, he would always make time to be with his son.

And his companionship was always meaningful, full of patience.

Most men would struggle to do this, especially someone like him who was so busy and emotionally distant by nature.

“I will apologize properly,” Gu Nanyan said, signaling him to relax.

Shen Boyan didn’t say anything. His expression froze for a moment, then slowly raised his handsome face to glance at Gu Nanyan. She flashed him a sweet smile.

At that instant, something deep within him seemed to stir, and his heart skipped a beat. In the next second, he quickly turned his gaze away.

Gu Nanyan looked at his indifferent profile, biting her lip and not daring to speak.

The old mansion was a bit far, and the car drove for about two hours before finally arriving at the large mansion, which looked like a castle.

Little Mumu woke up at this point, and the first thing he did was look for his mother.

Seeing his mother sitting next to him after getting out of his father’s arms, he seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

Finally, his mother came here with him.

He wanted to show Little Grape that he had a mom and wasn’t a child without one.

The car finally stopped in front of the main building.

The Shen family was already waiting outside.

Gu Nanyan swallowed nervously when she saw a group of people from afar.

Shen Boyan got out of the car first, still holding Little Mumu.

Gu Nanyan didn’t waste a second and quickly followed.

The people at the old mansion hadn’t expected her to come. The warm smiles that had greeted them disappeared in an instant.

Gu Nanyan awkwardly stood in the sunlight, subconsciously pulling at the hem of her skirt.

But then, a strong hand reached out and grabbed hers, enclosing her hand in a warm palm.

The tenderness of his hand made Gu Nanyan freeze, looking up at him in surprise.

Shen Boyan, still with his usual cold expression, was holding his son in one arm, and with the other hand, he was holding hers. In that moment, his male charm was overwhelming.

Gu Nanyan was led by Shen Boyan toward the group. She had completely forgotten what she had planned to say as a greeting.

His palm felt like it was electrified, sending waves of tingling sensations through her body, from her hands to her arms, making her feel both uncomfortable and pleasantly startled.

Thankfully, by the time they reached the others, Shen Boyan let go of her hand.

The group was still stunned, their expressions frozen.

Only Shen’s mother reacted quickly, stretching her arms toward Little Mumu.

“I can see that Little Mumu has grown taller. Come here, let Grandma see you.”

Shen’s father, who had once ruled the business world, now much older, had developed a fondness for children.

“Let me hold him.” As soon as he tried to take Little Mumu from Shen’s mother, he was met with a stern glare.

Shen Boyan’s second uncle and aunt had also come out to greet them. His second uncle, Shen Weiming, couldn’t stop his eyes from sizing up Gu Nanyan.

It was strange—how come she was here now?

She had angered everyone at the wedding, and now she was back?

Shen Boyan’s second aunt, Tan Yumei, also looked at the situation with interest.

“Yanyan, your grandmother is waiting inside. Let’s go in,” Shen’s mother finally said, giving Gu Nanyan a quick glance before turning back to Shen Boyan.

“Yes, let’s go inside.” Shen’s father also called out, but his eyes lingered on Gu Nanyan.

Gu Nanyan felt a sense of relief at not being immediately confronted.

She quietly followed Shen Boyan into the main building.

The grand hall of the mansion was lively.

Shen Boyan’s second uncle’s daughter, Shen Wen, had brought her five-year-old daughter, Little Grape, to visit the old lady. Little Grape was sitting beside the elderly woman, smiling brightly to win her favor.

Shen’s mother was holding Little Mumu and smiling as she spoke, “Mom, look who’s here.”

“Great-grandmother.” Little Mumu called out obediently when he saw the elderly woman.

Her face lit up with joy as she reached out for him, “Little Mumu, come here, let Grandma hold you.”

“Mom, you haven’t been feeling well lately, so it’s better not to hold the child. Just let him sit next to you,” Little Grape, sitting next to the old lady, said as Shen’s mother placed Little Mumu beside her.

The elderly lady, enjoying the moment, turned to hold Little Mumu’s hand. Little Grape’s expression immediately soured as she looked at her mother, Shen Wen.

Why was this nerdy kid always favored by great-grandmother?

Little Grape huffed in frustration.

Shen Wen gave her daughter a soothing look, but when she looked up, she was startled to see Gu Nanyan standing in front of the old lady.

She rubbed her eyes, thinking she was seeing things.

But indeed, Gu Nanyan was really standing there.

“Grandmother, I’m here to see you.”

The old lady had once been a strong figure in the family, and the Shen family had prospered because of her. As a result, everyone showed great respect for her.

The old lady had once adored Gu Nanyan. After hearing about the incident that had caused her to anger the family, she had been so upset that she had stayed in the hospital for a month.

Gu Nanyan knew that she would need to get past the old lady’s judgment.

“Little Mumu, you seem to have lost some weight since the last time I saw you. Haven’t you been eating well lately?” The old lady observed Little Mumu carefully, frowning as she asked.

“I eat well, but the food is all for me to grow taller. Great-grandmother, don’t you think I’ve grown a lot taller?” Little Mumu jumped down from the sofa to show her how much taller he had gotten.

“Yes, you’ve definitely grown taller. You might even end up taller than your father in the future.”

The old lady was pleased.

Little Mumu, seeing the elderly lady in such high spirits, walked over to Gu Nanyan’s side, took her hand, and with his innocent, clear eyes, introduced her to the old lady, “Great-grandmother, my mommy came today too.”
