Chapter 1: Transmigrated Into a Book
“Su Mujin, go die! Now that you’ve lost your fiancé, he’s going to be my husband!”
Struggling and flailing in the water, Su Mujin heard this sentence and immediately wanted to curse out loud.
But the moment she opened her mouth, she ended up swallowing several gulps of water, choking so badly her eyes rolled back. Her body kept sinking deeper and deeper.
Su Mujin didn’t dare say another word. Holding her breath, she moved her limbs desperately, swimming toward the other side of the river.
The body she now inhabited had a vicious older sister, who was currently standing on the riverbank holding a bamboo pole. If Su Mujin so much as showed her head, that stick would come swinging down on her.
If she wanted to live, her only choice was to swim with all her might to the opposite shore.
Fortunately, Su Mujin had made a point to learn many survival skills—swimming being one of them.
Even though she had already been soaking in the river for a while when she transmigrated into this body, Su Mujin managed to reach the other side thanks to her strong will to survive and her exceptional swimming ability.
At long last, she crawled onto the riverbank and finally let out a breath of relief. Just as she was about to move forward, she caught sight of something out of the corner of her eye—a man, washed ashore by the current, not too far away.
Since fate had brought them together, Su Mujin made her way toward him. After using all her strength, she managed to drag him fully onto the riverbank, preventing him from soaking any longer in the water.
Only then did she have the chance to take a good look at his face.
He was so handsome!
With sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes, a high nose, thin lips, and a chiseled jawline that looked like it had been sculpted by a blade.
Though unconscious and deathly pale, there was still an unmistakable sharpness in his aura.
It was summer, and he was wearing a white shirt and military-style trousers. His entire outfit was soaked through.
The white shirt clung tightly to his body, clearly revealing his broad, muscular chest, well-defined eight-pack abs, and two tantalizing V-lines.
Further down, the military-green pants were wet and stuck to his lower body, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Su Mujin swallowed hard.
This man—not bad at all.
That face, that build, that skin—if he were in her time period, he’d easily be a top celebrity, the kind adored by millions of girls!
But… why wasn’t he waking up even after all this time?
Su Mujin reached out to check his breath—it was faint, barely there.
No way… is he going to die?
With a face like that, it’d be such a waste if he just died here!
Su Mujin didn’t hesitate anymore and immediately began emergency rescue.
Mouth-to-mouth, strong pressure on his abdomen…
Just as she was working hard to save him, a sudden shout came from the distance.
“I see them! Over there!”
Instinctively, Su Mujin looked up and saw several people running toward her.
At that moment, the man suddenly coughed up a few mouthfuls of water and slowly came to.
Hearing the sound, Su Mujin looked down—and locked eyes with the man’s starry gaze.
Those eyes… absolutely stunning!
If he was a solid 90 out of 100 while unconscious, then with his eyes open, he instantly became a perfect 120.
Su Mujin stared dazedly at the man, while the group of people had already rushed over.
One middle-aged woman threw herself onto the man and started crying, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Qichen! If something really happens to you, how is Mom supposed to live on?!”
Behind the woman was a girl around fifteen or sixteen years old, her eyes red and swollen. She looked like she might be the man’s younger sister.
“Comrade! Thank you! Thank you for saving our Qichen!”
Su Mujin looked in the direction of the voice and saw a middle-aged man with gentle features and a refined demeanor.
“No need to thank me,” Su Mujin waved her hand. “It was just the right thing to do. I couldn’t just stand by and watch someone die—”
Before she could finish her sentence, a shrill, grating voice suddenly cut in.
“Su Mujin, you’re already engaged, yet you were hugging a man in the water, and just now you were kissing and touching him. Do you have no shame?”
Hearing that, Su Mujin’s brow twitched violently.
That voice—she knew it all too well!
Wasn’t that the voice of Su Moli, the reborn female lead?
In this book, Su Moli had been betrayed by a scumbag in her past life. After she was reborn, the first thing she did was target her own younger sister—pushing her into a river and drowning her. With her sister dead, she smoothly married her sister’s fiancé. Relying on her knowledge of future events as a golden finger, she rose to power in the 1970s, and after the reform era, she went into business, achieving success in love, career, and influence.
As for the original Su Mujin—she died simply because her fiancé caught the attention of her reborn sister.
“Su Mujin, you’re so shameless. What right do you have to be with Liancheng?”
Su Moli cried out in supposed heartbreak, her eyes fixed on Su Mujin with a look that could burn her alive. She clearly wished she could push her into the river again.
This little btch… how is she still alive?!*
Even if she didn’t die, she could forget about marrying Liancheng!
Liancheng had to be hers!
Su Mujin looked at Su Moli, eyes welling up with tears, her voice trembling with emotion.
“Big sister, are you saying I should’ve just let him die? How could you be so cold-blooded? That’s a human life we’re talking about!”
Chastity was important—but wasn’t a life even more important?
Besides, Su Mujin saved someone. She should be commended and awarded for it. If her fiancé looked down on her just because she saved a man, then he wasn’t worth marrying in the first place!
Su Moli’s intense gaze started to falter with guilt. “I wasn’t… I didn’t mean it like that, I just…”
“Just what?” Su Mujin stared at her sharply.
She might not actually plan on marrying Song Liancheng, but that didn’t mean she’d let Su Moli ruin her reputation—much less hand Song Liancheng over so easily.
And Song Liancheng wasn’t a good person either. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have married Su Moli so soon after the original Su Mujin’s death.
Su Moli’s mind was racing. “I just feel bad for Liancheng. What did he do wrong? Why should he have to marry a woman who’s lost her chastity just because you wanted to play the hero and save someone? He’ll have to spend the rest of his life being gossiped about!”
Just then, Song Liancheng—who had run up from behind—heard Su Moli’s words and looked at Su Mujin, his expression suddenly shifting.
“Moli? What do you mean by that? What do you mean she ‘lost her chastity’? What exactly happened?”
As soon as Su Moli heard Song Liancheng’s voice, she quickly turned her head and cried out,
“Liancheng, it’s Su Mujin who has no shame! When we got here, we saw her lying on top of that man, touching his chest, and her lips were pressed against his! For her to do such a shameless thing—our Su family has wronged you!”
Song Liancheng looked stunned. “How could that be…”
But soon, he shook his head. “I know—she was giving him mouth-to-mouth. She was just trying to save him.”
“But what about you?” Su Moli panicked. “What will people say? That your fiancée messed around with another man before the wedding—”
“Smack!”
Su Mujin couldn’t hold back anymore and gave Su Moli a resounding slap across the face.
