Traveling Into a Book, Enticing Him to Rise to Power Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Jun Zechen held her tightly in his arms, his emotions surging. He deeply desired to be close to her.

His warm breath brushed against Su Jingyao’s neck, making her shiver.

“Your Majesty, it tickles,” she murmured softly, her body instinctively shrinking away.

As she tried to step away, he quickly grabbed her waist and lifted her onto the desk in front of him.

Now, she was looking down at him from above. Her eyes were full of shyness, avoiding his intense gaze.

He sat in his chair, his sharp eyes lingering on her delicate figure.

Su Jingyao clutched the edge of the desk, feeling nervous and unsure.

Jun Zechen leaned in, his kisses falling on her skin like raindrops.

Starting from her slender neck, he moved downward, following the graceful lines of her body.

His kisses were passionate and possessive. Su Jingyao trembled slightly, her hand instinctively resting on his neck.

“Your Majesty, it hurts! You can’t kiss there! I’m taking medicine from the imperial doctor to prevent pregnancy,” she blurted out anxiously, her voice trembling.

She frowned slightly, looking nervous and flustered.

She gently pushed against his chest, trying to stop him.

The medicine she was taking was commonly used in the palace to prevent pregnancy. If he continued, it could cause discomfort.

Hearing her words, Jun Zechen clenched his jaw and finally let go of her. His eyes showed restraint and frustration.

Just then, the sound of a baby crying filled the air.

Miaoxue walked in, holding the baby prince.

Su Jingyao, still facing away from the door, panicked—she couldn’t let anyone see her like this!

She glared at the man in front of her with watery eyes.

Jun Zechen was startled by his son’s sudden cries but found it amusing to see Su Jingyao’s embarrassed expression.

He looked at her playfully.

Su Jingyao hurriedly adjusted her clothes and slid off the desk, quickly hiding in his arms like a frightened rabbit.

“Greetings, Your Majesty. Greetings, My Lady,” Miaoxue said respectfully.

“You may rise. What’s wrong with the prince?” Jun Zechen asked, keeping Su Jingyao wrapped in his arms.

Miaoxue kept her head lowered as she answered, “Your Majesty, the prince just drank milk, but he won’t stop crying. He’s used to playing with My Lady at this time every day.”

After making sure her clothes were neat, Su Jingyao finally stepped away from Jun Zechen and walked over to Miaoxue.

“Give him to me,” she said softly.

As soon as she held the baby, his cries stopped instantly.

“Star, don’t cry. Mother is here,” Su Jingyao comforted him gently.

The little prince, barely two months old, blinked his teary eyes, his long eyelashes trembling. He looked at his mother, full of grievance, as if asking why she had not been with him earlier.

Jun Zechen sat quietly, watching the warm interaction between mother and child.

A strange feeling of warmth rose in his heart.

But as he watched his son snuggle into Su Jingyao’s arms, little hands grabbing at her clothes, an unexpected sense of jealousy bubbled up inside him.

He stood up and walked over. “Let me hold him.”

Su Jingyao looked at him suspiciously. Did this man even know how to hold a baby?

Jun Zechen noticed her doubtful expression and chuckled helplessly.

“You think I’ll drop him?”

“If Your Majesty drops him, I’ll never speak to you again!” she pouted.

With great caution, she handed the baby over.

Jun Zechen’s movements were stiff and unfamiliar.

He had rarely held the baby since his birth due to his busy schedule and the mourning period for the late emperor.

But before he could enjoy the moment, the baby immediately started crying again.

Jun Zechen’s muscular arms were nothing like his mother’s soft embrace, and the baby was not happy about the change.

Annoyed, Jun Zechen frowned. Why wouldn’t his own son let him hold him?

“Stop crying. Be a man. If you keep crying, I’ll throw you out,” he warned.

Jun Zechen’s face turned serious, his deep, dark eyes staring straight at Xingxing, making the little one freeze in shock.

For a moment, Xingxing’s small mouth was slightly open, and he actually stopped crying.

The study fell into complete silence, but only for a few seconds before Xingxing suddenly burst into loud cries again.

Su Jingyao’s heart ached at the sight. “Your Majesty!”

She quickly took Xingxing from the man’s arms and gently comforted him. “There, there, Xingxing is the best. Your father was just scaring you. Don’t cry, okay?”

Jun Zechen was momentarily stunned by the sudden stop and then the sudden start of his son’s cries. It took him a moment to react before letting her take the child.

Watching her soothe the baby so gently, he couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.

“Yaoyao, you shouldn’t spoil the child.”

His tone was serious and firm.

Su Jingyao rolled her eyes at him. The baby was only a little over a month old—how could she be spoiling him?

Then she looked at him with a hurt expression, her eyes shimmering as if she was about to cry.

“Your Majesty, do you not like Xingxing?”

Her face showed that if he said no, she would immediately start crying.

Jun Zechen sighed and pulled both mother and child into his embrace to comfort them.

“How could I not like him? But I like Yaoyao even more.”

Su Jingyao was stunned by his sudden confession.

This man had never said he liked her before.

Seeing her dazed look, Jun Zechen took the chance to take the child from her arms.

“Miaoyue, take the prince away. Do not let him back in without my permission.”

Su Jingyao pouted angrily. “Xingxing will cry!”

Miaoyue didn’t dare to disobey the emperor’s orders. Even though the baby had already started whimpering, she still carried him out of the study.

Jun Zechen didn’t waste another word. He picked Su Jingyao up in his arms.

His deep, magnetic voice whispered, “I’d rather see Yaoyao cry.”

Su Jingyao was shocked again by his increasingly bold words.

Her cheeks turned red, and she quickly buried her face into his neck in embarrassment, wrapping her arms tightly around him.

Jun Zechen carried her to the chair, then placed her on the desk.

He had to finish what was left undone.

Su Jingyao was being teased relentlessly, her whole body aching, especially since the hard desk was so uncomfortable.

Just as Jun Zechen leaned down to continue, she instinctively bent her legs.

Her small foot pressed against his shoulder, trying to push him away.

“Your Majesty, go to the bed! It’s too hard—it hurts…”

Jun Zechen paused, surprised.

Then, a slight smile appeared on his lips, filled with amusement and affection. “So delicate.”

With that, he gently picked her up and carried her toward the bedchamber.

Su Jingyao leaned lazily against his chest, her cheeks flushed, her eyes still slightly teary.
