Watching Monkey Xiao Tiao’s figure disappear into the distance, Hu Jiao Jiao had an idea.

“I need to go out for a bit, I’ll be back soon. You all stay home and wait for me to come back before dealing with these prey,” she instructed, following the direction where Monkey Xiao Tiao had gone.

The cubs were left surprised as they watched Hu Jiao Jiao vanish from their sight.

“Big Brother, she actually left without hiding the prey and just left us to watch over it?” Long Ling’er asked in disbelief, her eyes wide open with surprise.

In the past, the Vicious female would have snatched any food she got her hands on, never giving them a chance to even see it.

“Should we hide the food while she’s not here?” she asked, eyeing the plump prey eagerly.

Long Yu, however, remained calm and shook his head. “No, it might be a test.”

The Vicious female had often tricked them like this in the past. If they fell for it, the punishment would only be worse.

None of the cubs dared to trust her easily anymore.

Hearing Long Yu’s words, Long Ling’er seemed to recall some terrifying memories, and a shiver ran down her spine, quickly abandoning the idea.

Meanwhile, Hu Jiaojiao quietly followed Monkey Xiao Tiao from a distance.

After about ten minutes of walking, Monkey Xiao Tiao suddenly stopped.

Hu Jiaojiao quickly hid behind a tree.

“Monkey Xiao Tiao, what’s taking so long? Why did you return the prey?”

“My share, where is it? Hurry up and hand it over, I need to get home and eat,” a few unfamiliar voices said impatiently from ahead. Hu Jiaojiao peeked out from behind the tree and saw a dozen unfamiliar beastmen surrounding Monkey Xiao Tiao.

“She noticed, so I had to return the prey…” Monkey Xiao Tiao mumbled, looking troubled.

“What!” One of the females, with a sharp and bitter face, shrieked and grabbed Monkey Xiao Tiao’s ear. “You returned the prey? How are my cubs and I supposed to eat now?”

“I’ll work hard to catch more prey in the future. You and the cubs won’t starve…” Monkey Xiao Tiao muttered.

“Useless! With the little prey you catch, you want us to starve?”

As the argument between the two escalated, the other beastmen realized there would be no prey to get and left in frustration.

Hiding behind the tree, Hu Jiaojiao listened to the entire conversation, her bright eyes darkening slightly.

It seemed her guess was right. Monkey Xiao Tiao had been used as a pawn; the real thieves who stole Long Mo’s prey were this group of beastmen.

The tribe had only about two hundred beastmen, and she had already spotted over ten involved. Most of the tribe must have participated in this.

No wonder the original Hu Jiaojiao never suspected anything. With most of the tribe deceiving her, it would be a miracle if she noticed something was wrong!

Casting a glance at the still-bickering Monkey Xiao Tiao, Hu Jiaojiao quietly turned and left.

Back at the house, an unexpected guest had arrived.

“Hu Jiaojiao, get out here!” Xiong Hua, furious after having a chunk of her scalp pulled earlier, was now even angrier after going home and thinking about it more.

Conveniently, her mate, Xiong Zhuang, had just returned from hunting, so she immediately dragged him along to seek revenge on Hu Jiaojiao.

From a distance, the cubs in the yard could already hear Xiong Hua’s arrogant yelling.

The cubs were startled and worried.

“It’s Xiong Qiu’s mother. She’s here again!” Long Ling’er exclaimed, frightened, as she spotted the plump figure in the distance.

Xiong Hua had a nasty temper, was strong, and hit hard.

With the Vicious female not home, Xiong Hua would definitely beat them!

Long Xiu, resting his hand on the fence, appeared behind the cubs and said, “Hide her things quickly.”

Even though he couldn’t see, he could feel the difference.

The Vicious female’s items weren’t something the tribe had, nor could they have come from their grandmother’s family.

He had already broken one once before. If Xiong Hua destroyed them, the Vicious female would surely be furious when she returned.

And when she got angry, they would suffer.

Most importantly, they wouldn’t have these strange tools to cook with anymore.

Long Yu quickly understood Long Xiu’s intent and issued the command, “Listen to him. Move quickly.”

The cubs hurriedly scrambled to move Hu Jiaojiao’s kitchen tools and dishes to the back of the small wooden house.

Even Long Yao bit onto a white porcelain bowl and moved it with all his might.

After everything was hidden, they covered it with grass.

By the time they were done, the cubs were all out of breath.

Long Ling’er had just sat down to catch her breath when she suddenly slapped her forehead.

“Oh no! The prey is still outside!”

The cubs’ faces turned pale in unison.

“I’ll go get it back inside,” Long Zhong said, jumping to his feet, his small brows furrowed in frustration.

“It’s too late,” Long Yu said, his face darkening as he glanced outside.

As if on cue, Xiong Hua and her mate had already arrived at the yard gate.

“Hu Jiaojiao, you were so bold pulling my hair this morning, and now you’re hiding? Come out here! I’m going to teach you a lesson today. If I don’t rip all your hair out, I’m not Xiong Hua!”

Xiong Hua stood with her hands on her hips, shouting.

But no matter how much she yelled, Hu Jiaojiao didn’t appear.

Her gaze swept across the yard, and her eyes locked onto something, widening in disbelief.

“Prey? That little tramp has this much prey in her house?”

In the yard lay four pieces of prey, three of which were whole. Skinned, these would be top-quality animal hides!

Hu Jiaojiao had no right to such prey!

Xiong Hua knew Hu Jiaojiao was the type to bully the weak and fear the strong. With her mate accompanying her today and only a few useless cubs at Hu Jiaojiao’s house, she wouldn’t dare stand up to her.

Her eyes gleamed with glee as she ordered her mate, “Go grab those prey.”

Without hesitation, Xiong Zhuang obeyed, heading into the yard to carry the prey.

He was here to defend Xiong Hua’s honor after all.

The tribe’s beastmen were used to bullying Hu Jiaojiao’s family and saw nothing wrong with it.

“You can’t take our prey!”

“This is what our father caught for us. You can’t take it!”

The moment Xiong Zhuang stepped into the yard, the cubs rushed out and blocked his path.

“Move,” Xiong Zhuang growled, displeased, swatting the thin cubs aside like they were nothing.

The cubs were no match for Xiong Zhuang and were thrown to the ground.

Long Yu’s face darkened, and despite the pain, he got up and grabbed onto Xiong Zhuang’s arm.

“Get out of here! Put our prey down!”

To the cubs, food was more important than their lives.

Steal their food, and it was as good as taking their lives!

Long Yao, dizzy from being tossed, shakily flew towards Xiong Zhuang, ramming his little head into Xiong Zhuang’s biceps.

Unfortunately, the biceps didn’t budge, and Long Yao ended up seeing stars from the impact, spinning in circles in mid-air.
