Their tribe was a mixed tribe, home to beastmen of various races. Generally, everyone got along well, and they were willing to help each other when problems arose.
But when Xiong Hua said that, the orcs who were helping to put out the fire immediately frowned.
“We’re helping you out of kindness, but how can you, as a female, be so unreasonable?”
“Forget it! I won’t put out the fire anymore. If you want water, fetch it yourself!”
Angry, the beastmen threw down their buckets and walked away.
The females whom Xiong Hua had pushed aside also avoided her, unwilling to come any closer.
Xiong Hua, pushed to the ground, simply lay there, wailing, “My Xiong Qiu… You heartless beastmen who refuse to help me—none of you will meet a good end! If Xiong Qiu dies, I won’t let you all off!”
As Hu Jiao Jiao led her four cubs from the forest, they happened to witness the scene through the crowd of orcs.
She smiled knowingly.
It might be hard to make the tribe’s beastmen treat her better, but making them dislike Xiong Hua was a breeze.
All four cubs had expressions of disdain. “Serves her right!”
Long Ling’er, holding Hu Jiao Jiao’s hand, looked curious. “Mother, how did you manage to make the fire so difficult to put out?”
Since the vicious female had turned good, she had become so powerful!
Not only could she make delicious food and drive away bad guys, but she could also help them teach the bad guys a lesson.
“It’s not that it couldn’t be put out. I added something to make the fire burn faster. It takes a lot of water to extinguish,” Hu Jiao Jiao explained gently.
“What is this powerful thing?” Long Ling’er blinked in wonder, excitement all over her face.
Her little fists clenched, eager to try. “Mother, can you give me some of this amazing stuff? That way, if anyone bullies me, I can throw it on them and burn them to death!”
Hu Jiao Jiao: “…”
No wonder she’s a little villain—she says the most shocking things.
“Ling’er, you can’t use that stuff recklessly. It’s only for very bad people. When you grow older, Mother will teach you,” Hu Jiao Jiao said earnestly.
Her goal was to win over the little villains, not turn them into bloodthirsty maniacs. She had to nip their violent tendencies in the bud!
“Oh…” Long Ling’er seemed a little disappointed.
Just then, Xiong Hua, still wailing on the ground, spotted Hu Jiao Jiao in the crowd.
A thought crossed her mind, and she suddenly stood up, storming angrily toward Hu Jiao Jiao to grab her.
“Hu Jiao Jiao, it was definitely you! You stole the tribe leader’s fire-making method and purposely used it to harm me. You killed my cub! I’ll kill you!”
Xiong Hua charged at her, claws outstretched to scratch Hu Jiao Jiao’s face.
The four cubs were startled, watching as Xiong Hua lunged at them. But Hu Jiao Jiao swiftly pulled them aside and kicked Xiong Hua hard in the back of her knees.
“Thud!” Xiong Hua’s legs buckled, and she dropped to her knees.
“Xiong Hua, what are you doing? Even though you tore down my house and beat up my five skinny little cubs, you don’t need to kneel and apologize to me. You’ve already given me two hunted animals as compensation, and I’ve forgiven you,” Hu Jiao Jiao said, acting shocked and surprised as she looked at the kneeling Xiong Hua.
The crowd of orcs overheard Hu Jiao Jiao’s words and immediately forgot about her earlier kick.
She tore down her house? And beat up her cubs?
Although they didn’t like Hu Jiao Jiao, they disliked Xiong Hua just as much.
Feeling the scornful gazes around her, Xiong Hua became both embarrassed and angry.
“Hu Jiao Jiao, you wretch! You burned my house down in revenge! I’ll get revenge for Xiong Qiu!” she screamed, seething with rage. She wanted to strangle Hu Jiao Jiao to death.
With that, she prepared to attack Hu Jiao Jiao again.
Despite the large crowd of beastmen watching, none stepped in to help Hu Jiao Jiao.
Hu Jiao Jiao placed a hand on Long Yu’s shoulder and instructed him, “Yu’er, take your brothers and sister home first. Mother will be back soon.”
She pushed the cubs toward the edge of the crowd.
If she had to fight the burly Xiong Hua, she knew no one would help her. While she wasn’t afraid of getting hurt to protect her cubs, she didn’t want them to see her getting beaten up.
Long Yu, holding Long Ling’er and Long Zhong’s hands, with Long Yao on his shoulder, hesitated as he looked back at Hu Jiao Jiao after being pushed to the edge of the crowd.
This vicious female was actually facing danger alone and telling them to leave…
In the past, he would have turned and left without a second thought. But remembering how she had helped them take revenge on Xiong Qiu and given them ideas to fight back, he felt conflicted.
Without her, they would have been helpless against Xiong Qiu.
“Big brother, why are you standing there? Let’s go…” Long Zhong tugged at his hand.
Long Yu frowned deeply and let go of Long Zhong’s hand. “You take Ling’er and Yao’er back first.”
“Big brother, you’re not really going to help that vicious female, are you?” Long Zhong’s eyes widened, the scar on his face twisting.
“I said, go,” Long Yu commanded firmly.
Among the cubs, Long Yu’s words carried the most weight. Long Zhong glanced at him, seeing a shadow of their father in him.
Clenching his teeth, he turned and led Long Ling’er and Long Yao away.
After they left, Long Yu turned back around.
Suddenly, he felt a weight on his shoulder. Looking over, he saw a small black dragon wagging its tail happily.
Its round red eyes blinked as if saying: “Follow the vicious female for food, mean big brother. You can’t get rid of me~”
Long Yu: “…”
“Fine, you can stay,” Long Yu muttered, then coughed and asked quietly, “Hey, Yao’er, do you think you can still… do your thing?”
Long Yao blinked, then closed his eyes to feel the rumbling in his stomach before nodding seriously.
…
While Hu Jiao Jiao was pushing her cubs away, Xiong Hua charged at her, transforming her hands into brown bear paws and aiming them at Hu Jiao Jiao’s head.
One swipe, and her brains would be splattered everywhere.
Hu Jiao Jiao spun around, seeing the hairy, clawed bear paws closing in.
Crap! This is totally unfair!
She had expected Xiong Hua to fight her but had forgotten that this was the beast world, where beastmen could take on beast forms during fights.
Just as Hu Jiao Jiao was about to dodge, a strong hand suddenly appeared, grabbing Xiong Hua’s paw.
“Xiong Hua, you dare hurt my little sister!”
Hu Jiao Jiao looked up in surprise and saw a tall, handsome male standing protectively in front of her.
Hu Jiao Jiao blinked, then hesitantly called out “Second Brother?”.
The original body’s second brother was indeed handsome, the most good-looking of her four brothers. Even within the tribe, he was one of the top-ranked men in terms of looks.
