Treasure Chest Dreams: A Survival Adventure Chapter 29

Chapter 29 Trading with Chen Cheng

Lu Chenxi kept killing sea monsters, killing sea monsters, so much so that the sea monsters no longer dared to appear around the small island.

The sea monsters spread the word: “Don’t go near that island. There’s a sea monster slayer there. She’s killed many of our brothers and sisters. Wuwuwu.”

From then on, Lu Chenxi became a being that all monsters avoided.

Lu Chenxi, who had been waiting for sea monsters but was left with nothing, said that she couldn’t be blamed for killing sea monsters like they were watermelons.

It wasn’t because the Level 3 Xuan Iron Sword she had obtained was too powerful. Combined with other weapons, it was incredibly easy to kill Level 1 and 2 sea monsters. Level 3 sea monsters were hard to come by.

That day, Lu Chenxi continued to fish for treasure chests with Chenyue while also waiting for sea monsters.

Through their efforts, they had already accumulated 1,000 System Coins. They only needed 3,000 more to buy two Level Up Cards.

Chen Cheng, who was not far from Lu Chenxi’s sea area, was seriously injured after being attacked by a sea monster because of her carelessness.

A few minutes ago, Chen Cheng was waiting for treasure chests by the sea as usual. She saw a treasure chest floating towards her from afar.

Normally, if the treasure chest floated close enough to the island, Chen Cheng could use her homemade extended fishing net to retrieve it. If it floated too far, she would have to go into the water herself.

Unfortunately, the treasure chest today floated quite far. Although she knew it was dangerous, she couldn’t bear to give up the treasure chest.

She hadn’t seen any sea monsters for a few days. At first, Chen Cheng thought it was strange, but then she was happy. At least it was safer for her to collect treasure chests.

Because of this moment of carelessness, Chen Cheng was hit hard in the back by a sea monster as she returned to shore after retrieving the treasure chest.

She spat out a mouthful of blood. Chen Cheng struggled to turn her head and saw that it was a Level 2 sea monster. This Level 2 sea monster had a strong stealth ability, which explained why Chen Cheng hadn’t noticed it.

Another reason was that she had opened two Purple Sand Fruits in a treasure chest two days ago. After eating them, she successfully leveled up to Level 1, and her strength, mental power, and other attributes had increased significantly. She was a little inflated.

Chen Cheng thought to herself, “I have to kill this Level 2 sea monster. Either it dies, or I die. Maybe I’ll be chewed up and swallowed after I die.”

Ignoring the excruciating pain in her body, Chen Cheng seized the opportunity, kicked off the ground with her foot, swam forward four or five meters, took out a four-star dart from her space, and shot it towards the sea monster’s eye.

The sea monster’s eye was hit by the four-star dart. It let out a roar and sank to the bottom of the water, not daring to charge up again. It fled with its tail between its legs.

As it fled, the sea monster thought to itself, “The elders in our clan said there was a monster slayer on the eastern island. They didn’t say there was such a powerful two-legged creature on the southern side.”

Chen Cheng saw that the sea monster had fled and breathed a sigh of relief. If she hadn’t been injured, she might have chased after it. Killing one would give her 100 System Coins.

But now, she only felt a heart-wrenching pain in her body. She didn’t know if she had suffered a serious internal injury.

She struggled to swim back to shore. Chen Cheng took out the only healing medicine she had left from her space, the Hemostatic Pill she had traded with Lu Chenxi.

As the name suggests, the pill’s function was to stop bleeding. After taking the pill, Chen Cheng only felt slightly better. The blood from her mouth stopped flowing, but the medicine was not effective because it was not the right remedy.

Chen Cheng gritted her teeth in pain and thought, “Damn it, that damn sea monster ambushed me. Next time, I won’t let you get near me again. Otherwise, I’ll chop you up and throw you in the sea to feed the fish.”

“Maybe my kidneys are damaged. There’s no hospital here. I can’t even get treatment.”

Chen Cheng became increasingly anxious, especially thinking about the supplies she had painstakingly saved in her space. If she died like this, wouldn’t it all be in vain?

“Now I understand. The most painful thing in the world is dying with your supplies still unused,” even Chen Cheng, with all her strength, couldn’t help but shed tears.

“No, how can I give up like this?” Thinking about her supplies, Chen Cheng sat up in bed, startled awake.

She quickly opened the system panel and searched both the trading center and the system mall.

History repeated itself. The trading center only had some medicines for treating external injuries. Medicines for treating internal injuries could only be found in the system mall.

So, the question was, if even Lu Chenxi and her sister, working together, hadn’t saved many System Coins, would Chen Cheng have any?

The answer was obviously no. Chen Cheng didn’t have time to slowly save System Coins now. She could wait, but could her internal injuries wait?

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Chen Cheng. She thought of the Hemostatic Pill she had just taken. Maybe that person had other healing medicines.

She quickly opened the system interface, scrolled through the previous chat records, and sent a message to the other party:

[Big shot, are you there? Help! Help!]

[I need medicine to treat internal injuries. Do you have any? I have a Purple Sand Fruit. Taking it can help players level up by 1 level.]

Chen Cheng didn’t have time to bargain with the other party this time. She directly offered her most precious possession. She had just happened to open two Purple Sand Fruits two days ago. Since each person could only take one, she had one left.

She waited for a while. Just when Chen Cheng thought the other party wouldn’t reply and was about to try other methods, Lu Chenxi finally replied.

[Yes, I have a Returning Light Pill here. It’s specifically for treating internal injuries.]

Chen Cheng didn’t hesitate. She immediately agreed to the trade and sent the Purple Sand Fruit to the other party.

After taking the Returning Light Pill, Chen Cheng felt the pain in her body finally subside. She could feel the medicine slowly healing her internal injuries.

Feeling much better, Chen Cheng expressed her gratitude to the other party and sent a friend request:

[Thanks to your pill, I feel much better. I should be completely healed soon. My name is Chen Cheng. If you don’t mind, let’s add each other as friends.]

Lu Chenxi, seeing the message, first accepted the friend request and then expressed her concern:

[You’re welcome. We’re just trading fairly. It’s good that you’re feeling better. Be careful and protect yourself. This world is dangerous.]

She had been helping other players craft axes recently, which inevitably involved chatting. Lu Chenxi’s chatting skills had improved significantly.

Chen Cheng, receiving the big shot’s concern, felt a little flutter in her heart. In her own romanticized imagination, she guessed that Lu Chenxi was a gentle and considerate man. Who wouldn’t like a man who was both rich and caring?

It wasn’t until later, when they became more familiar, that she discovered Lu Chenxi was actually a girl. She immediately despised herself for having a crush on her. She didn’t want to be a lesbian.
