Chapter 19: She Absolutely Can’t Miss This Show
When Widow Liu brought the person back, there wasn’t even an oil lamp lit in the house.
After all, she was doing something she felt guilty about.
Lighting a lamp in the middle of the night would only arouse suspicion.
Seeing her son so impatient, Widow Liu smiled in satisfaction.
Though her son was dumb, he at least understood the importance of carrying on the family line.
“Son, be quiet. Don’t make such a racket, or people outside might hear.”
After dragging the person into her son’s room, Widow Liu returned to her own bedroom.
The fool had been longing for his bride and was overjoyed.
Without even looking, he started gnawing and hugging the person.
Not satisfied after a while, he began tearing at the other’s clothes.
His filthy hands roamed all over the person’s body.
“Hehe, wife… wife…”
In a daze, Lin Dawei felt someone touching him.
At first, he thought he was dreaming.
But when he opened his eyes, he saw a large shadowy figure pressing down on him.
Moonlight streamed in through the window.
Lin Dawei suddenly saw the person clearly.
It was a slobbering, dirty, fat-faced man with large ears.
Wasn’t this the fool he had seen the other day—the one waving vegetables around, shouting for a wife?
Lin Dawei was still trying to grasp what was happening.
How had he ended up with this idiot?
Just as he was lost in confusion, the fool leaned in again.
A wave of foul breath hit Lin Dawei’s nose.
“Wife…”
Wife??
Lin Dawei’s eyes widened in shock.
Wasn’t that ugly hag supposed to be sent to the fool’s house tonight?
Could it be…
A jolt ran through Lin Dawei, and he snapped wide awake.
Seeing that disgusting mouth coming closer, he immediately swung a powerful slap.
“Screw your grandma’s egg! You dumbass! Trying to take advantage of me? Disgusting!”
Lin Dawei was fuming.
All he had done was eat one of Lin Xiaodou’s egg cakes.
How the hell did he end up in the fool’s bed after that?
This was definitely the doing of that crazy woman, Lin Xiaodou!
Damn it, when he got back, he’d make sure to get revenge!
The fool was stunned for a few seconds after being slapped.
But once he got a good look at Lin Dawei’s face, his eyes immediately turned fierce.
He grabbed Lin Dawei by the neck and growled:
“Where’s my wife?! Where did you take my wife?!”
“Let go of me!”
Lin Dawei struggled with all his might.
Only then did he realize he was completely naked—his clothes had been stripped off.
With a roar, he countered by grabbing the fool’s neck.
Goddamn it!
If he had woken up any later, he’d have lost everything!
If the girls he was chasing ever found out about this, they’d be disgusted to death.
The two of them wrestled, choking each other, rolling from the bed to the floor.
Lin Dawei was no match for the fool’s brute strength and soon lost the upper hand.
The fool held him down by the throat with one hand and smashed his head with the other.
Lin Dawei’s head spun from the pounding, his hands groping around the floor, searching for anything to fight back with.
Soon, his hand grasped something cold and hard.
Without hesitation, he swung it at the fool’s head!
“Thwack!”
It sounded like slicing into a watermelon.
The fool collapsed stiffly to the floor.
Only then did Lin Dawei see his hands covered in blood.
He looked down to find he was holding a kitchen cleaver.
He… had killed someone?
He killed someone!
“AHHHHH!!!”
A scream of terror pierced the quiet night.
It woke Widow Liu in the room next door, who had just fallen asleep…
The Next Morning
Father Lin and Mother Lin got up in high spirits.
Father Lin: “Wife, no need to make breakfast today. Go wake Dawei. Let’s head out early.”
Mother Lin nodded: “Okay, I’ll go now!”
Both of them were grinning ear to ear.
They were about to receive a bride price of 300 yuan—a huge sum. How could they not be happy?
That wretched girl couldn’t blame them for being ruthless. She had it coming for hitting people and being uncontrollable.
If she had obediently married the fool, there wouldn’t have been so much trouble.
Mother Lin walked to Lin Dawei’s door and knocked:
“Dawei, wake up! Don’t you want to see that girl’s humiliation? If you’re late, you’ll miss the best part!”
“Whose humiliation?”
Lin Xiaodou opened the door and poked her head out curiously.
Mother Lin screamed at once:
“You wretched girl! Why are you here?! Why are you in Dawei’s room?! Where is Dawei?!”
“No idea. I swapped rooms with Lin Dawei last night. Didn’t he tell you?”
Lin Xiaodou gave a sinister smile.
That smile made Mother Lin’s heart sink.
She shoved Lin Xiaodou aside and frantically searched the room, but not a single trace of Lin Dawei could be found.
She then ran to the storage room to look, but again found nothing.
“You! It was you, wasn’t it?! You hid Dawei! Where did you take him?!”
Mother Lin broke down and screamed at Lin Xiaodou.
Father Lin had just found out what was happening and now spoke with a dark expression:
“Lin Xiaodou, where is Dawei? You have to tell us the truth. If not, I’ll report you to the police.”
Father Lin thought Lin Xiaodou had somehow escaped last night.
And that she took Dawei away to get revenge.
That’s why he dared to threaten her with the police—to scare her into confessing.
But what Father Lin didn’t know was that Lin Xiaodou wasn’t afraid at all.
On the contrary, she was smiling cheerfully:
“You want to know where Lin Dawei is? Fine, I’ll tell you.
Didn’t you say you were going to watch the drama? Better hurry.
If you’re late, you might miss the scene of your son marrying the fool, haha.”
Father and Mother Lin trembled all over.
They exchanged horrified looks.
There was no time to curse Lin Xiaodou.
Mother Lin pushed Father Lin’s wheelchair and ran like mad out the door.
Lin Xiaodou took a shortcut down a narrow path to get ahead of them.
First rule of watching drama:
Arrive early, grab a good spot, and you’ll get the juiciest scoop.
Today’s big show was one she absolutely couldn’t miss!
