Chapter 30: Robbing the Male Lead of All His Supplies!
Lin Xiaodou rummaged through her memory and suddenly remembered—
Wasn’t that skinny guy the same one she had robbed and castrated in the little forest before?
Why was he hanging around with the male lead now?
Curious, Lin Xiaodou secretly followed them.
She had taken a divine power pill before, which made her steps light and soundless—perfect for tailing people.
Even the agile male lead didn’t notice her presence.
Seeing that she hadn’t been discovered, Lin Xiaodou edged even closer behind them.
Now that she was closer, she could hear snippets of their conversation.
Following them all the way, Lin Xiaodou learned quite a bit.
Turns out, that skinny guy used to specialize in scavenging supplies and reselling them to the black market for cash. He’d known the male lead for a long time.
After Lin Xiaodou had crippled him, he and a few of his buddies couldn’t continue working, so they turned around and pledged loyalty to the male lead. Now they were under his command.
On the surface, the male lead was just a delivery driver for a department store, but secretly, he was one of the key figures behind several major black-market syndicates in Beijing.
He often used his driver identity as cover to transport goods for illegal trading.
These past few days, he had made a fortune using this discreet method.
This information only appears much later in the original novel—Lin Xiaodou hadn’t read that far, so she had no idea.
Hearing all this now, she was genuinely surprised.
So all those gold and jewels she had snatched during that previous heist actually belonged to the male lead?
This damn man! Not only did he consort with those thugs and lowlifes, he even took them in as his subordinates. He was clearly no decent person.
She had wanted to explore the black market before.
Now, no need. She could just start with the male lead directly.
Come to think of it, the original heroine’s tragic death in the novel had something to do with him as well.
Since she needed to get revenge anyway, she might as well rob the male lead of all his supplies! Leave him with absolutely nothing!
Lin Xiaodou continued tailing the group until they arrived at a rundown warehouse in the outskirts.
From what they were saying, the plan was to transport the goods in the warehouse to Tianjin, then use their connections to get them shipped overseas and sold secretly.
But something had gone wrong in the middle, which was why the skinny guy had urgently brought the male lead over.
Skinny Guy: “Boss, this batch of goods got soaked in the rain yesterday. Some of them are already discolored today. That supplier must’ve painted fakes to scam us!”
Zhang Tianjun picked up one of the faded gold goblets, his face dark.
“Where’s the supplier?” he asked.
The skinny guy looked bitter. “He ran. We couldn’t find him.”
Bang!
Zhang Tianjun smashed the goblet onto the ground.
“Find him! I don’t care if you have to flip all of Beijing upside down—find him for me!”
Someone nearby muttered under his breath, “We still haven’t found the one from the little forest either…”
Zhang Tianjun turned, eyes cold and sharp. “What did you say?”
The man trembled all over and quickly stammered, “Boss, I-I didn’t say anything…”
Zhang Tianjun kicked him over savagely and growled, “Get lost!”
The man actually started rolling on the ground.
Everyone else kept their heads down, not daring to make a sound.
Hidden atop the warehouse roof, Lin Xiaodou raised an eyebrow.
Looks like the male lead was quite influential—and ruthless, too.
After a while, Zhang Tianjun stormed off with his group in tow.
Only three men were left to guard the warehouse.
Lin Xiaodou grinned. Perfect opportunity for her to act!
The warehouse was stuffed with supplies collected over the past few days. Except for yesterday’s questionable batch, the rest were all authentic treasures.
More than ten crates of glistening gold ingots, about twenty crates of sparkling jewels, plus various calligraphy, paintings, and antiques.
This haul was way bigger than what she’d stolen back in the forest! It was probably worth billions!
Lin Xiaodou quickly entered her space and changed into a new outfit.
Same classic setup—human-skin mask, wig—so thorough even her own parents wouldn’t recognize her.
Once everything was ready, she blinked forward and appeared right in front of the guards.
Before they could even react to their fear-stricken realization, she raised her baton and struck—one clean hit each, knocking them all unconscious.
With a grand sweep of her hand, everything was stored away into her space.
Before leaving, Lin Xiaodou even left behind a parting gift.
When the male lead, Zhang Tianjun, rushed back upon hearing the news—
What he saw was a bold message scrawled on the warehouse wall:
“I’ll be back!”
And right beneath it, a completely empty warehouse—not even a single fallen leaf remained.
“Ahhh!! Who?! Who did this?!”
Zhang Tianjun’s face twisted with rage as he roared like a madman:
“Find that person for me! How dare someone steal from me, Zhang Tianjun! I’ll tear them to pieces!!”
[Lin Xiaodou: Last time it was ‘no burial ground for the dead,’ now it’s ‘torn to pieces.’ Got any more catchphrases? Feel free to shout them out!]
…
Getting her hands on such a huge haul unexpectedly—
Lin Xiaodou was in a brilliant mood.
She was even humming a little tune as she headed home.
Only to be greeted by Lin Xuefei’s sulking face.
“Jiejie, I only went to the bathroom for a bit. How could you vanish the moment I turned around? I ended up waiting for you so long in the cold.”
Last night, she’d gone crying to Brother Tianjun, begging him to stand up for her.
Today, she’d purposely brought Lin Xiaodou out just for that reason.
To keep up appearances, she’d gone off to the bathroom—but when she came back, Lin Xiaodou was gone.
She thought the other girl had been scared and run home, but when she returned, there was no sign of her there either.
She waited all morning before Lin Xiaodou finally returned.
And what’s worse—she came back looking absolutely delighted!
Clearly, the scare tactic hadn’t worked at all.
Lin Xuefei was fuming inside.
She had planned to flaunt her authority in front of Lin Xiaodou, but now she didn’t even feel like it anymore.
Lin Xiaodou couldn’t be bothered to play along. “You know what you’ve done.”
Lin Xuefei bit her lip. “I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
The air grew tense.
Thankfully, it was broken when Aunty Chen called them for lunch.
After they finished eating, Lin Xuefei went out again.
Lin Xiaodou knew exactly where she was headed—probably crying to the male lead again.
Lin Zhengmin had gone to work, and Wu Ya didn’t want to see Lin Xiaodou, so she went out with her friends to relax.
Taking advantage of the empty house, Lin Xiaodou installed a few hidden surveillance cameras in several rooms.
Yesterday while they were out shopping, Lin Xuefei had used her allowance to buy a watch, saying she was going to gift it to Zhang Tianjun for his birthday in a few days.
Lin Xiaodou used her tools to open up the watch and implanted a tracking chip inside, then carefully reassembled it.
Her space contained a device that could track the chip anytime—even in this era without the internet.
After setting everything up, Lin Xiaodou finally felt a lot more at ease.
With that tracking chip, she could monitor the male lead’s whereabouts in real-time.
Much more convenient for robbing him blind again!
Just thinking of the male lead howling in helpless rage—
Lin Xiaodou could barely hold back her laughter.
The omnipotent CEO-type male lead was about to lose everything!
