Chapter 49
When he saw her about to leave him, her husband, his heart was filled with anger.
But thinking that she didn’t truly marry him, knowing she had someone else in her heart, yet still forcing her to marry him, Qin Muye couldn’t vent his anger and resentment on her.
Plus, he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her.
His deep, mellow voice stimulated her eardrums, but Jiang Muning was full of shock.
Qin Muye, the cold and decisive male lead in the book, would become the youngest military district commander in the history of the army.
Such a man would actually lower himself, almost begging her not to leave.
The unattainable flower on the high mountain, yet he bent down for her, Jiang Muning didn’t know how to describe her feelings at this moment.
“No, I’m not leaving.” Jiang Muning replied softly.
Hearing this, a clear smile flashed in Qin Muye’s eyes, the upward inflection in his voice betrayed his current mood: “Really?”
Seeing the smile on his face, Jiang Muning’s heart skipped a beat, she was about to fall into his smiling eyes.
“Yeah.” Jiang Muning turned her head away from him, she couldn’t be seduced by his beauty.
Qin Muye leaned down to kiss her, Jiang Muning quickly covered her mouth: “Again?”
Seeing the blush on her cheeks, Qin Muye was moved, but he only kissed the back of her hand.
Jiang Muning suddenly widened her eyes: She was seduced by this man!
“I’ll put things away.” Qin Muye said, bending down to pick up Jiang Muning and place her on the chair, then he put the luggage she had just taken out back in its original place.
In the end, he even put the bag where she put her luggage on top of the cabinet.
As if that way, she wouldn’t be able to reach it.
After taking care of everything, Qin Muye returned to her.
He knelt down, looking at her lips that were clearly swollen from kissing, he reached out and gently stroked her face.
“Ningning, no matter who is in your heart, you are my wife now, you can only stay by my side, understand?” Qin Muye looked at her, his cold eyes filled with seriousness and sincerity.
He couldn’t imagine what he would do if she wasn’t home when he came back, he would be in a panic.
Looking at that gaze, it was as if she was a woman who had been caught cheating.
“I just wanted to go home for a few days.” Jiang Muning explained nervously.
Qin Muye pressed her neck, and kissed her lips again.
“Ugh…”
Seeing that her lips were swollen from kissing, Qin Muye finally let go of her, satisfied.
That way, she wouldn’t be embarrassed to go find Zhou Yang, right?
Her cheeks flushed red, Jiang Muning complained shyly: “You’re a hooligan.”
Qin Muye chuckled: “I’m only a hooligan to you.”
Jiang Muning arrogantly shook her head: She didn’t believe him.
Thinking about how he slept with Lu Haotian the night before, Jiang Muning felt a little uncomfortable.
“Wait for me at home.” Qin Muye’s sharp eyes looked at her, “Otherwise, I will find you, even if it’s at the ends of the earth.”
Looking at that gaze, Jiang Muning swallowed nervously, and urged: “I know, go to the army quickly.”
Qin Muye glanced at the time, then hummed in response, stood up, and walked towards the door.
He took a few steps, then stopped and turned back to look at her.
Seeing that she was still sitting there softly, he continued to walk out.
Seeing his tall figure leaving, Jiang Muning let out a sigh of relief.
“I’m scared to death, I thought I was going to be the first person to be kissed to death.” Jiang Muning patted her chest, saying with lingering fear.
Thinking about his reaction when he was afraid she would leave, Jiang Muning muttered to herself: “Could it be that he’s afraid his secret will be revealed?”
In the evening, Qin Muye washed the dishes and mopped the floor expressionlessly.
He looked completely different from the man he was at noon.
After washing the dishes, Qin Muye wiped the table clean. Seeing Jiang Muning sitting there resting, he didn’t ask her to help.
To be fair, he was almost the perfect husband candidate.
Looking at his considerate demeanor, Jiang Muning asked tentatively: “Brother Muye, what do you think of Comrade Lu?”
“Not bad.” Qin Muye answered concisely.
“Then if you had to describe him with one word, you would say he’s…”
“Annoying.”
Huh? This answer was a bit different from what she expected.
Qin Muye raised his head, his cold face was filled with suspicion: “Are you interested in him?”
All day long, she had asked many questions about Lu Haotian.
Thinking about this, Qin Muye’s alarm bells went off.
Sensing his suspicion, Jiang Muning thought he was afraid of being discovered, and said with a wry smile: “No, I heard you two have a good relationship, I was just asking casually.”
Qin Muye said in a low voice: “There’s nothing good to say about him.”
He didn’t want his wife to discuss other men in front of him, not even his best friend.
Seeing this, Jiang Muning wisely stood up from the chair: “I’m going to take a bath.”
With that, she ran away.
When Qin Muye returned to the room, he saw Jiang Muning holding scissors.
“What are you doing?” Qin Muye walked over.
“Cutting my toenails, they’re a bit long.” Jiang Muning answered casually, bending down, just as she was about to cut, the scissors in her hand were taken away.
Jiang Muning tilted her head in confusion.
She saw Qin Muye sit down at the foot of the bed, then he grabbed her slender ankle and placed it on his leg.
Under Jiang Muning’s surprised gaze, he lowered his head and helped her cut her nails.
Qin Muye held her small feet, his eyes focused on her toes, he looked like he was carrying out an important task.
Seeing his appearance, Jiang Muning’s palm, which was supporting her on the bed, turned white from the force she was using.
Facing such a perfect husband, Jiang Muning was worried that she would accidentally fall in love…
Seeing that he had finished cutting her nails, Jiang Muning pulled back her snow-white feet and burrowed into the covers.
“I’m going to sleep first.” Before she could finish, Jiang Muning quickly pulled the blanket over her head.
Looking at the person who had curled up into a ball, Qin Muye pulled down the blanket: “Don’t suffocate yourself.”
Jiang Muning looked at the man in front of her, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
After finishing, Qin Muye got up and went to take a bath.
The door closed softly, Jiang Muning looked at the ceiling.
“I finally understand why those people who are beard wives are always kept in the dark, they act so well, there are really no flaws.”
If she hadn’t read the novel and knew that Qin Muye had someone he liked, she wouldn’t have these suspicions.
“What should I do?” Jiang Muning furrowed her brows.
