Turned Into a Cannon Fodder daughter? I Cut Ties and Moved to the Countryside! Chapter 1

Chapter 1 : Happy Travel

Yun Siying was conscious, but still a little dizzy. She opened her eyes with discomfort and found herself lying on a bed. Taking in the unfamiliar surroundings, her eyes sharpened. She immediately jumped up and assumed a defensive stance, activating her supernatural powers to scan the area cautiously.

After confirming there was no danger, she realized her supernatural power level had reverted to its original state. Still, she remained vigilant. She walked around the room, On the desk sat an enamel teacup with a large red peony and the words “Long Live the Great Man.” Beside it was a red thermos, both items clearly from a bygone era.

Looking out the window at the clear blue sky and breathing in the crisp air, she pressed her temples and muttered, “Where am I? No… Didn’t I blow up my power core and die along with that bastard and that bitch?”

The painful memories came rushing back. She had been betrayed by the two people she trusted most, her fiancé and her best friend. They had tried to kill her amidst a swarm of zombies just to steal her lotus jade pendant. That pendant, which housed her spatial powers, was taken by the pair, rendering her powerless.

After narrowly escaping the zombies, she spent time tracking them down, waiting for the perfect moment to strike and reclaim her pendant. But she miscalculated, their powers were on par with hers.

They had always acted weak and reserved, never revealing their true strength. While she fought on the frontlines and protected them, they stayed safe behind her, indulging themselves and growing fat on the spoils of her labor. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She couldn’t defeat them. As she neared death at their hands, she made a desperate choice.

Unwilling to die alone, she detonated her supernatural core, dragging the traitorous couple down with her. In her final moments, she managed to tear the jade pendant her space core from her best friend’s neck. She would never let the adulterous pair keep it. What she didn’t know was that, at the moment of the explosion, the pendant transformed into a streak of light and vanished into the sky.

Snapping back to reality, she examined the room again, then glanced at her clothing. “Hiss…” The moment she raised her arm, her clothes scraped against her injuries, causing a sharp sting. She discovered bruises all over her body.

When she looked at her hands, a flash of surprise crossed her eyes. These weren’t her hands. Her real hands bore the marks of countless battles, thick calluses from wielding weapons and scars of all shapes and sizes.

She spotted a mirror on the desk and, despite the pain, walked over to it. Staring at the young face reflected there, one that looked about 60% like her own she was overwhelmed with joy. Inside, she screamed with excitement.

“Hahaha! Heaven really hasn’t abandoned me!”

But she had no idea which era she had landed in. Just as she was wondering, a wave of intense dizziness washed over her, engulfing her mind. It felt as though her head had exploded, as memories that didn’t belong to her flooded in. The dizziness intensified, and a deep, indescribable pain spread through her skull.

This pain was unlike any she had ever experienced before. It felt like sharp needles relentlessly piercing her scalp and then deeply stabbing into her brain. It seemed as if her head was about to be torn apart by the agony, and each heartbeat pounded in sync with the pain.

She nearly collapsed, curling into a ball, clutching her head tightly with both hands, gritting her teeth to endure it all. After what felt like a long time, the pain gradually subsided, leaving her whole body drenched in sweat.

As she digested the extra memories flooding her mind, and combined them with what she saw around her, she became certain she had transmigrated, to the 1970s of a parallel world.

According to the memories that surfaced, the original owner whose body she now inhabited was living in the 1970s of a fictional country called Dragon Country. It was now the year 1973, a time that somewhat resembled the historical development of Huaxia. The original owner’s name was Shu Siying, and she was 18 years old.

She came from a military family. Her grandfather was a veteran revolutionary and now a high-ranking official. Her father, Shu Guofeng, was a regiment commander, and her brother, Shu Chengzhi, was a battalion commander. She was the youngest daughter in the family. She had graduated from high school the previous year, but with the arrival of the Cultural Reform, she was unable to take the college entrance exam.

During this time in Dragon Country, society was in chaos and upheaval. The Cultural Revolution swept through the country like a storm, involving intellectuals and students alike.

The “Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside” Movement was also in full swing. Large numbers of urban youth were being sent to rural areas to participate in rural development. They left behind the familiar city life, carrying their belongings, and set out on an uncertain journey. In the countryside, they worked alongside farmers, experiencing the hardship and simplicity of rural living.

During this period, people’s thoughts were restless, social order was disrupted, and slogans and propaganda filled every corner of life. The waves of political movements made everyday life full of uncertainty, and everyone was searching for their place in this turbulent era.

To avoid being sent to the countryside, the original owner had been seeking employment since graduation. Fortunately, she had good academic performance and secured a job as a clerk in a machinery factory.

Half a year ago, a girl named Li Yinyin was brought into the Shu family by her parents. It was only then that the original owner learned of her true identity.

It turned out that half a year ago, a girl who bore a 70% resemblance to Shu Siying’s mother had accidentally saved her. Tang Lingxue, the mother, noticed that although the girl was thin and worn, her facial features were about 70% similar to her own.

She thought of her own daughter at home though very beautiful, she looked nothing like either her or her husband. Suspicion grew in her heart. After asking for the girl’s name and address, Tang Lingxue quickly sent someone to investigate.

The results soon came back. The girl’s name was Li Yinyin, and she too was 18 years old. She had been born in the same hospital as Shu Siying, on the same day, same month, and same year even in the same delivery room.

Back then, during a time of intense warfare and relocation, Tang Lingxue had given birth at the county hospital in Mayun County, Lingyang Province. She had shared a delivery room with another woman, Xu Ziying, who gave birth at the same time. Due to a nurse’s mistake, the two babies were switched at birth, and their identities were unknowingly exchanged from that moment on.

Li Yinyin had grown up in the countryside, with rough and sallow skin. Like other village girls, she had to manage household chores and also work in the fields to earn labor points. Her hands were covered in calluses.
