Turned Into a Cannon Fodder daughter? I Cut Ties and Moved to the Countryside! Chapter 3

Chapter 3 : The Shu Family’s Purpose for Keeping Her

It was just a pity that her lotus jade pendant exploded with her. It would have been great if her space could have traveled with her through it, that would have been like a mobile warehouse. Thinking about it, she tried to sense it and suddenly opened her eyes wide. Her space had actually traveled with her.

It really was her thousand-square-meter space. There were rice, flour, grains, oil, seasonings, daily necessities, seeds, vehicles, and materials all purchased for zero yuan. These supplies could last her for several lifetimes, allowing her to live comfortably during the end times and support her ungrateful fiancé and best friend.

No wonder those two people were so interested in her space. If she hadn’t had such abundant supplies, she would have been betrayed by those two ungrateful people and lost her life.

To her delight, her spiritual and wood abilities had also traveled with her, although they had been reduced from level eight to zero. She stretched out her palm, and a vine as thick as her thumb appeared, winding upward at a speed visible to the naked eye. She nodded happily.

Thinking of the zombie crystal cores she had collected, fortunately, she hadn’t given those crystal cores to the two ungrateful wolves at the time, and she didn’t know if they were still in the space. She opened several boxes of crystal cores, and luckily, they were all still there.

She felt dizzy and her forehead was hot, but unfortunately, there was no medicine to reduce her fever. She needed to get to a hospital as soon as possible. After drinking a bottle of mineral water, she left the space.

At that moment, someone’s voice sounded outside “Mom, the Youth Office just came to our house again urging me to sign up to go to the countryside. What should I do?” Shu Ruxue knew Tang Lingxue was completely on her side now, so she deliberately played the victim.

“Ruxue, do you think we kept Shu Siying because we truly treated her like family? Or was your father just farsighted? That bitch is useful now. Don’t worry, when she wakes up, I’ll make her give her job to you, and then send her to the countryside.” Tang Lingxue looked at her obedient daughter with distress and guilt.

“Mom, you’re so good to me, but Sister Siying has been with you for 18 years after all. Isn’t that unfair to her?” Shu Ruxue knew that city jobs now cost a fortune, one carrot for one position. If she wanted to stay in the Shu family, she had to have a job.

“She’s originally a countryside kid. If there hadn’t been an accident, how could she have lived so comfortably for 18 years? She’s not only ungrateful, she even wants to kill you. Once we send her to the countryside, she won’t try to harm you anymore, and Mom and Dad can rest easy.”

“Sister Siying is just having a hard time. Let her go to the countryside for a while to calm down and bring her back to the city.” Shu Ruxue said, glancing toward Shu Siying’s door with a triumphant smile in her eyes.

“Ruxue, you’re too kind. Don’t worry about this. Your father and I will handle it,” Tang Lingxue said helplessly, having made up her mind.

Yun Siying listened to the conversation between mother and daughter, her eyes full of sarcasm. She looked around the room and confirmed this was the original owner’s room. She put the original owner’s private money and tickets into the space. The private savings accumulated over the years plus the wages from recent months totaled 312 yuan and 30 cents.

She looked out the window. It was rush hour, people were leaving work and returning to the compound one after another. A trace of gloom flashed in her eyes. She opened her door and glanced toward the mother and daughter talking on the sofa in the living room. When the two looked at her.

“Shu Siying, now that you’re awake, go to the kitchen and help Auntie cook. What? You still think you’re my daughter and can sit around waiting to be served?” Tang Lingxue became inexplicably annoyed when she saw Yun Siying come out.

Yun Siying glanced at Tang Lingxue. The once beautiful, dignified, and elegant woman had now lost all of that grace. And the girl next to her, her eyes were full of calculation and gloating, giving off an air of superiority.

“Okay, I understand. I’ll be back soon,” Yun Siying replied indifferently and walked slowly across the living room, her face still pale.

Tang Lingxue, not wanting to see her living comfortably, said sharply, “Shu Siying, stop right there! Go to the kitchen and cook first. If you dare step out that door, don’t come back ever again.”

Yun Siying ignored her and walked out of the courtyard gate, a bit unsteady on her feet. Her destination was clear: the health center in the military compound.

Seeing that Yun Siying didn’t even look back, Tang Lingxue said to Shu Ruxue, “Ruxue, I told you that little bitch is ungrateful. She’s not my real daughter, so of course she can’t be raised properly. She actually dared to ignore me like that.”

Just then, Jiang Xianmin, who had just returned from work, saw Yun Siying looking flushed and unsteady. She quickly set down her bicycle, rushed over to support her, touched her forehead, and asked with concern, “Siying, what’s wrong? Why is your face so hot?”

“Aunt Jiang, could you please take me to the health center?” Her voice was weak, trembling, and helpless, her eyes full of pleading.

“Mom, what happened to Siying?” Qiao Minghong stopped the car, rolled down the window, and asked. Seeing the disheveled girl made his heart ache, this was the neighbor’s little sister they had watched grow up.

“Brother Minghong… Auntie… I just feel a bit unwell and want to go to the health center.” Yun Siying’s eyes were slightly red, her voice choked with emotion. She looked at Qiao Minghong pleadingly, and then fainted. Before she lost consciousness, she thought to herself how careless she had been not expecting the original owner’s body to be this weak.

“Mom, help me get Siying in the car, quick!” Qiao Minghong saw Yun Siying collapse into his mother’s arms, quickly got out of the car, and opened the back door.

“Why did this child faint? Let me help too!” Li Yue’e, who had also just arrived on her bicycle, came over to assist Jiang Xianmin in getting Yun Siying into the car.

“My goodness, her face is burning hot and what are all these whip marks on her arm?” Li Yue’e exclaimed in shock. Together, the two women helped seat Yun Siying in the back of the car, supporting her from both sides, and then closed the door.

“Minghong, drive faster,” Jiang Xianmin urged her son as she glanced back toward the Shu family’s gate. She then turned to Li Yue’e and said, “I don’t know what’s going on. We just ran into Siying like this. But hey, I’m sure you’ve heard about what’s going on in the Shu family.”

“I’ve heard some things. But honestly, Siying is so outstanding and intelligent, how could she not be a true child of the Shu family?” Li Yue’e said regretfully.

“Then you haven’t seen that female comrade her family brought back. She looks 80% like Tang Lingxue,” Jiang Xianmin said. She lived across from the Shu family and often saw Shu Ruxue. She had disliked that girl from the start, there was too much greed and calculation in her eyes.
