Chapter 19: After Victory
Anchoring the twelve ships of the Olympian fleet as entities of the planet, the energy generated and the twelve overlapping laws Adam constructed form the colorful spiral Spear of Starlight in his hand. Since their hulls were irreparably damaged during the initial acceptance process, this power can be considered a one-time miracle. Gripping the outer “natural phenomenon” coating, Adam adopts a highly professional throwing stance, learned from athletes. With feet planted on the ground, a rearward lean, a cocked right arm, and a forcefully straightened torso, he channels the planet’s rotational force into the throw. Although this power might not be fatal against the Star Harbinger, capable of devastating the planet’s surface, its primary function is to focus and launch the true killing blow, the Spear of Starlight. The spear’s trajectory is marked by hundreds of explosive rings created as it breaks the sound barrier, its speed surpassing the observational limits of all present. With each meter it advances, the spear grows in size, ultimately resembling a massive, conical meteor rather than a thrown spear.
Caught off guard, the white giant deity is struck squarely in the chest, struggling to activate her magic-absorbing capabilities to counter its energy. However, the specific coating Adam applied and the planetary rejection principles attached to it were designed against her armor.
“…Why… they… can… why… I…”
The Star Harbinger’s indescribable roar seems to carry a lament, which Adam, as a transmigrator, perceives as an expression of emotion. Why could Zeus and the others, also outsiders, break free from their missions, while she faced destruction?

“I feel sorrow and regret for you, for your inability to free yourself. But standing here, I possess a ‘radiance’ I will not yield, even if it means harming others. So, fall, stop, Sefar, and meet your end.”
With his right hand ruined from the throw and his legs trembling from exhaustion, Adam uses his remaining strength to extend his left hand, enveloping the blurry figure of the giant deity, then clenches his fist. As if pressing a final switch, the Spear of Starlight pierces through the Star Harbinger. Not only does it penetrate her body, but carrying the giant, now comparable in size to a mountain, it accelerates towards the northwest at nearly escape velocity (11.2 km/s). Unquestionably, her body disintegrates during this process, and the energy-focused explosion of the Spear of Starlight, even from Adam’s current position, is visible as a colossal rainbow pillar breaking through the sky and atmosphere.
“It’s over. Finally over.”
Losing the adrenaline that kept him upright, Adam collapses forward but is caught in time by Jeanne d’Arc Alter, who jumps down from the Dragon of Albion. She kneels, gently placing his head on her lap.
“Weren’t you going to set me on fire if I touched you?”
“Hmph, make it clear, it’s not you touching me; I’m allowing you to lean on me.”
“Let’s just go with that. Ah, since arriving in this world, this is the first time I’ve been so exhausted.”

Adam’s eyes are half-closed. The battle pushed him beyond his limits. Indeed, as Jeanne d’Arc Alter said, he gambled his life on a slim chance of victory. Fortunately, he won.
“How did everyone else fare?”
“Many good folks paid with their lives for a bit of time. Boss, although I’m not much for religion or anything, right now, I really hope what you said about souls drifting to the planet’s inner sea is true.”
Drake responds, having parked the battered Golden Hind on the ground. She looks towards Eden’s survivors, who are burying their comrades and kneeling to pray for the planet to welcome them back.
“It will be. I can guarantee that. Your people have walked an extraordinary path, possessing physical bodies born of flesh and blood, yet able to do things akin to fairies and spirits, tethered to the planet. I once said your survival abilities were low, but now I believe you might one day become the perfect species.”
The Dragon of Albion, bearing horrific wounds like Adam and near death, generously praises the Eden people who fought alongside it.
“I have another say. With the development of the Eden people, they can recover quickly, even possibly reconstruct their bodies. But what about you?”
Adam, slightly more comfortable now, expresses concern for the Dragon of Albion, who merely shakes its massive head.
“I’ve said, don’t underestimate me. A bit of sleep will heal these wounds.”
“Rare for you to awaken.”
“Don’t feel guilty. At least I’ve made friends. Yes, I said if I could see you upon awakening again, I’d be reassured. Indeed, it’s true.”

With that, the primordial dragon closes its eyes, its still-beating heart and breath proving it’s not dead.
“Instant sleep… I’m quite envious of that skill, actually, as I find it hard to fall asleep. Ah, right.”
Adam struggles to adjust his gaze. Now, the bodies of Zeus and the other mechanical deities, already at their limits and suffering backlash, begin to crumble and fall apart. However, the light bands emanating from their cores remain, moving as if searching for a place to go.
“It seems there’s no need to worry now. Oh, since we’ve fought side by side, comrades in arms, though it might sound strange, Zeus, do take care of your lower half in the future, and don’t be too submissive to human beliefs about you.”
Half-serious, half-joking, Adam says. The blue and gold light band from Zeus’s body seems to nod in response, perhaps retaining some mechanical thought patterns even as it transforms into a natural deity.
