Chapter 13: Love Him
Watching his gradually recovering eyes, Chen Xin, holding Fang Ziyu, breathed a sigh of relief while carefully inspecting his body. Not only were his palms and elbows scraped, but there were also several bruises on his body.
Being disheveled and bruised added a bit of ambiguity, making anyone wonder. Chen Xin was also afraid, afraid that her thoughts were true. Xiao Yu’er was such a proud and stubborn person. He seemed fragile on the surface, but his temperament was stubborn.
Continuing to undress him, Chen Xin’s tense heart finally relaxed completely when she saw that there were no traces of abuse. Apart from the injuries she had noticed earlier, his feet were the most severe.
Covering him with clothes, she kissed his now moist phoenix eyes and said, “Xiao Yu’er, let’s take a bath.”
Saying this, she stood up and lifted him to face her, supporting his buttocks as they walked to the kitchen to fetch water. With one hand around his waist and the other carrying water, she poured it into the bathtub a few times until it was full.
Fang Ziyu had already come to his senses when Chen Xin mentioned taking a bath. He wrapped his legs around her waist and hugged her neck tightly, watching her busy movements, eagerly saying, “Xin?”
“I’m here.” Chen Xin gently patted his back and whispered as she walked towards the bathroom, which was now full of water.
Looking at her profile, Fang Ziyu’s voice choked up, “I couldn’t find you. I thought you didn’t want me anymore.”
Chen Xin, who was guessing what had happened, stopped in her tracks, a flash of realization crossing her mind. Looking into his eyes filled with regret and affection, she pressed her forehead against his and said seriously, “No, I won’t ever not want you or leave you unless you let go of my hand.”
Just seeing Xiao Yu’er’s expression just now made her realize that he had truly engraved himself deep into her heart. She loved him, not just liked him.
Chen Xin knew that saying these words could only temporarily comfort him. He was always so sensitive and lacked confidence in himself. Didn’t he know how wonderful he was? He just needed to stop hiding and show himself to the world.
Unable to blame him, Chen Xin explained gently, “I went to the back hill to set up the bathroom, the bathing area. I didn’t expect you to wake up so soon and hurt yourself. Don’t you feel pain?”
As she spoke, Chen Xin carefully avoided his wounds and brought him to the bathroom, gently placing him on the wide chair they had bought as an extra.
“It hurts.” Hearing Xin’s words, Fang Ziyu felt himself being a bit delicate again. He hadn’t felt it before, but now he realized how much his hands and feet hurt.
Chen Xin patted his head helplessly and indulgently, “Let’s clean your lower body first. It won’t hurt once I clean your wounds later.”
Focusing solely on the task, Chen Xin lifted his clothes. Because his wounds couldn’t touch water, she could only use a damp cloth to carefully wipe from his face to his feet, not neglecting even the intimate areas.
“Bang!”
The sudden sound made Chen Xin hastily look up. It was Fang Ziyu, his body soft and flushed, leaning against the back of the chair. His watery phoenix eyes and the hint of spring in the corners of his eyes caused Chen Xin’s breath to hitch. Suppressing her desires, she helped him get dressed.
Bending down, she kissed his lips, then quickly carried him into the house. They hadn’t eaten yet and were starving. Placing him on the bed, she swiftly took out disinfectant from her backpack to clean his wounds and bandage them.
Exhaling, she said, “Xiao Yu’er, I’ll go get the food.” Afraid he might overthink, she bent down to kiss his forehead and then walked out the door.
After a few trips in and out, Chen Xin had prepared the meal and walked over to Fang Ziyu. She had noticed him watching her anxiously earlier and knew he had been scared tonight. Feeling guilty, she wanted to be even nicer to him.
“Xin, I’m hungry.” Fang Ziyu, seeing Chen Xin put down the food and walk towards him, stretched out his arms in a pitiful, coquettish manner, wanting her to hug him.
Chen Xin indulged in a smile at this sight, quickly coming to his side and lifting him to sit at the table. She then served the food and handed him the chopsticks, saying, “Eat up. Your Xin cooking skills aren’t bad. From now on, I’ll cook just for you.”
“Well, as punishment for not telling Xiao Yu’er where I went tonight, I’ll cook for Xiao Yu’er for the rest of my life. How about that?” she continued.
Hearing this, Fang Ziyu smiled sweetly, “Okay.”
