Chapter 14: Revealing the Past
The dinner tonight consisted of two vegetarian dishes, one meat dish, and soup, with portions tailored to Chen Xin and Fang Ziyu’s appetites to avoid wasting food, which was her habit.
Once both had eaten their fill, Chen Xin picked up the last piece of vegetable on the plate and fed it to Fang Ziyu, wiping away the oil stains from his lips with a smile, saying, “Eating more vegetables is good for your health.”
Though Fang Ziyu didn’t quite understand, he felt that everything Chen Xin said was right, nodding and saying, “The dishes you made are delicious, Xin.”
Rubbing his filled belly, he blushed slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Chen Xin chuckled and put down her chopsticks. “Then I’ll have to cook for you for the rest of my life. It can’t be bad, can it?”
Saying this, she stood up to clean the dishes, telling Fang Ziyu, “Sit for a while. I’ll be back soon.”
Seeing him nod obediently, Chen Xin swiftly washed the dishes and filled the bathtub with water. She grabbed a set of innerwear, as they would eventually need to sleep and taking off the outer clothes would be necessary. However, she decided against wearing a bra for now, planning to ask Fang Ziyu to help mend a few tomorrow.
After undressing and stepping into the bathtub, she sighed with relief, feeling comfortable. She thought about everything that had happened tonight-it had been a busy night indeed.
Though her mind was occupied, her movements were quick. She soon finished washing and dressing, poured out the water, and went back to the kitchen to wash Fang Ziyu’s hair.
Carrying the water back into the room, Chen Xin saw Fang Ziyu’s large eyes fixed on her, a hint of shyness flashing in his phoenix eyes.
It was inevitable since Chen Xin’s ample bosom was quite conspicuous at the moment. The loose innerwear highlighted a significant curve, making it obvious she wasn’t wearing anything underneath.
Chen Xin felt helpless. She found it uncomfortable to walk when her chest swayed with every step. She couldn’t imagine how women in the matriarchal world ran.
Putting down the basin, she lifted the blushing Fang Ziyu onto the bed, placing his head near the edge, and laid him down.
“Xin?” Fang Ziyu looked puzzled.
“I’m going to wash your hair.” Chen Xin smiled and then crouched down, rolling up her sleeves. She gently wet his hair with water, massaging his scalp in a slow and soothing manner, which could relieve fatigue. She washed his hair with warm water from time to time, and Fang Ziyu immediately felt comfortable, closing his eyes and enjoying it.
Chen Xin wasn’t sure what they used to wash hair here, so she could only use plain water. Fortunately, Fang Ziyu’s hair wasn’t oily.
After a while, when she felt it was clean enough, she squeezed the water out of his hair, wrapped it in a towel, and poured the water out.
Finally done, Chen Xin thought to herself.
Closing the door and returning to the bed, she lifted Fang Ziyu’s head, untied the towel, and used her internal energy to slowly dry his hair. Sensing his gaze, she lowered her head, kissed his beautiful eyes, and asked, “Are you sleepy?”
Fang Ziyu shook his head. “Not sleepy.”
He was actually a little tired, but after Chen Xin washed his hair just now, he didn’t feel sleepy anymore.
He leaned against her shoulder, his waist encircled by her, feeling extremely peaceful, hoping they could continue like this forever.
Chen Xin hugged Fang Ziyu, feeling completely content. Even though they no longer lived a luxurious life, as long as they had Xiao Yu’er, it was worth it. Moreover, she planned to embark on a business venture again, ensuring that Xiao Yu’er would be well-fed, well-clothed, and have money to spend. It seemed she needed to take action quickly.
What Chen Xin didn’t expect was that her original intention was just to make enough money to get by, but it exceeded her expectations.
“Since you’re not sleepy yet, let’s talk.” With one hand around Fang Ziyu’s waist and the other gently tucking the strands of hair that fell on his face behind his ears, her tone was indulgent.
Fang Ziyu buried his head in Chen Xin’s shoulder, nodding slightly and rubbing his head. “Hmm.” Completely unaware that he was igniting her desire.
Indeed, Chen Xin’s eyes seemed to catch fire with a hint of helplessness. She could see the unattainable, and her beloved was still kindling the flames. It was extremely helpless, but luckily she could still enjoy some flirtation.
Concealing her emotions, she remained silent for a moment before saying, “Xiao Yu’er, what do you think exists beyond the sky?”
Hearing this, Fang Ziyu also pondered seriously. “Immortals.”
Chen Xin smiled knowingly and said gently, “Xiao Yu’er, that’s not quite right. The outer space is vast and magnificent, colorful. Isn’t the moon beautiful?”
“Yes, very beautiful,” Fang Ziyu nodded, wondering why there were no immortals. After all, that’s what the stories always said. But what Chen Xin said must be correct.
“In fact, the surface of the moon is uneven with many craters, and it doesn’t emit light on its own. It only appears bright because it reflects the light of the sun.”
“So ugly,” Fang Ziyu wrinkled his nose.
Then he asked curiously, “How do you know, Xin?”
Hugging Fang Ziyu, Chen Xin didn’t rush to answer. Instead, she got up, opened her arms, and said, “Come, let me hold you and show you the moon outside. Then you’ll understand.”
Though Fang Ziyu was even more puzzled, he complied with Chen Xin’s suggestion, wrapping his legs around her waist and hugging her neck, his cheeks flushed, his heart melting, softer than a bun.
At that moment, Chen Xin chuckled and said in a low voice, “I just love holding you in this position, with no distance between us.”
Only now did Fang Ziyu notice how ambiguous and intimate their posture was. Though he felt shy, he leaned closer to Chen Xin, his phoenix eyes shining brightly, his face red as he softly said, “Me too.”
She had already seen his body, so he wasn’t shy anymore. It was just the blush on his face that couldn’t be ignored.
Chen Xin smiled with pleasure and hugged Fang Ziyu tighter as they walked towards the door.
Standing under the eaves, gazing at the beautiful starry sky, the crescent moon, and the myriad stars, she felt a bit complicated. Were they all on the same moon? Probably?!
“Xiao Yu’er, didn’t you want to know where my home is?”
Fang Ziyu turned to look at Chen Xin. “Yes.”
Choosing her words carefully to make them as simple and understandable as possible, Chen Xin said, “My home is on a star very close to the moon. I’m not sure which one exactly. Stars are actually very big and round, capable of accommodating many people, just like here. Maybe you live on a star too.”
Hearing this, Fang Ziyu looked up at the sky and then back at Chen Xin, incredulous.
Chen Xin continued, “The day you saved me was when I fell off a cliff and landed here. Fortunately, you saved me.”
Fang Ziyu looked up, trying to see which star was very close to the moon. But Chen Xin didn’t know which one it was. Then he heard about her falling off a cliff and felt a pang of worry. No wonder she got hurt.
“I never thought there would be humans besides us in addition to my homeland, because the people from my hometown created some spacecraft that could go to outer space. They went to some stars but found no signs of life… Xiao Yu’er, do you understand?”
“A spacecraft is a ship that can fly, right?” Fang Ziyu nodded, having understood thanks to Chen Xin’s simple and clear explanation.
“That’s about right,” Chen Xin said.
“Do you believe what I said?” she asked.
“I do. I believe everything you say,” Fang Ziyu’s eyes were full of love because you’re the person I recognized at first sight, and because you promised to never lie to me, so I trust you.
