Chapter 32: Do You Like the Song or the Singer?
The surrounding noise was loud and chaotic, but Qin Yingxia’s small world only contained Jin Zhuo in front of her.
He said he didn’t mind…
Qin Yingxia’s face burned red, her eyelashes fluttering slightly. Unexpectedly, she was pulled up by Jin Zhuo who grabbed her wrist.
“Come on, you lovebirds!” Xie Chi took the lead in whistling.
Yu Zhizhi, who had borrowed a microphone from somewhere, excitedly said, “How about a duet of a love song?”
Qin Yingxia could sing. She would also satisfy her fans’ requests during live streams, singing the songs they requested.
Jin Zhuo curled his lips and tilted his head, “I have no objections.”
He looked sideways and asked the girl beside him in a low voice, “What about you, Junior Qin?”
“I… I have no objections either!”
Qin Yingxia smiled, her dimples appearing, “Jin Zhuo, what song do you want to sing?”
Jin Zhuo didn’t answer her, but his eyes were filled with intoxicating smiles. He took the microphone from Yu Zhizhi and said in a voice only they could hear, “Thank you.”
Yu Zhizhi: “Cough cough, you’re welcome.”
She didn’t expect to be seen through by Jin Zhuo. She had been hoping to hide her contribution!
From the moment Jin Zhuo took the microphone, the noise gradually subsided. The students tacitly waved the lights in their hands, creating a sense of atmosphere.
“I want to fly low with you,
Collect oxygen with you everywhere,
If you can’t see through the fog,
Why don’t you fall into my heart?”
Before the music started, Jin Zhuo’s voice was magnetic and he hummed a few lines.
His gaze passed through the crowd, always on Qin Yingxia, never leaving.
Pei Lanhe timely intervened, turning on the background music. The music began to play, and the scene once again became boiling.
“Ahhhhh what is Jin Zhuo saying?”
“Fall into his heart? Oh my god…”
“I didn’t expect him to sing this song!”
“Is this a confession? It must be!”
“They’re basically dating, right?”
“You guys can ship them if you want, but I’m shipping them first!”
“…”
Qin Yingxia was drowning in his eyes. The boy she liked was standing in a sea of hearts, inviting her to fall with him.
“Silly Yingying, go on!” Yu Zhizhi popped up beside her, stuffing the microphone into her arms and pushing her, “Go on, silly girl! Don’t wait any longer!”
Qin Yingxia came to Jin Zhuo’s side, in the center of the crowd. The surrounding lights were dazzling, but not even a millionth as dazzling as him.
“What are you thinking about? It’s your turn… Qin Yingxia…”
Jin Zhuo softly uttered her name, with a gentle, lingering tone, just like the way he said “Give me a kiss” at the recruitment meeting.
This guy was teasing her again.
But she liked him, even more…
“I want to take you from noisy to peaceful,
I want to take you from cloudy to sunny,
I want to tidy your shirt for you,
Collect poems for you everywhere”
Qin Yingxia sang along with the music. The girl’s voice was sweet, and the melody she sang was very beautiful.
“Love songs sound better when sung by couples, right?” Pei Lanhe leaned lazily on Xie Chi’s shoulder, saying casually.
Xie Chi: “What about all the love songs I used to sing?”
“They count as you not having a girlfriend!” Jiang Yinghuai said sarcastically.
Xie Chi was speechless, pushing him, “Get out, get out! Everyone in our dorm is a single dog, no one should laugh at anyone else!”
“In the past, maybe, but in the future…” Jiang Yinghuai pointed at the two people singing together, teasingly, “Maybe not.”
Pei Lanhe opened a can of Coke, took two sips, “Should we make it whoever finds a girlfriend first pays for dinner?”
Speaking of which, Xie Chi and Jiang Yinghuai looked at each other knowingly, their eyes flashing with light, “Wow, you’re the best! Quickly think about what to eat to get a free meal from Brother Zhuo!”
Jin Zhuo looked at the girl in front of him with a smile in his eyes, his gentle gaze hiding a soft affection that Qin Yingxia hadn’t noticed.
“I want to run into the forest and dive into the ocean with you.
I want to watch the sunrise and sunset with you.
I want to travel through Greenwich and fly through time with you.
I want to see you,
Embrace you through the church and the crowd.”
As the last note faded, the music gradually subsided, followed by the excited screams of the students.
Qin Yingxia let out a long breath, her palms sweating uncontrollably.
Jin Zhuo seemed much calmer. He casually glanced at the girl’s flushed earlobes, leaned closer, and held out his hand towards her. It was unclear where he got it from, but he had an ice cream cone. “Peach flavor, try it?”
Qin Yingxia really needed ice cream to cool down her face. “Okay…”
She looked up, her eyes full of joy. “Jin Zhuo, you sing really well.”
“You like it?” Jin Zhuo raised an eyebrow, licked his lips, and then mischievously asked, “Do you like the song or the singer?”
Qin Yingxia wasn’t afraid of falling into his trap. She smiled sweetly, “I like the singer!”
Jin Zhuo was caught off guard. He tilted his head and asked, “Which one?”
She blushed and couldn’t say anything more.
“So good! So good!”
“One more! One more!”
The instructors from both groups just came back and saw this scene. They looked at each other and said in unison, “Your group really knows how to spice things up!”
“Huh? No, they really are dating?”
They thought it was a special performance prepared to liven up the atmosphere!
Students from other groups were envious. “Instructor, we want to hear love songs too!”
Instructor: “Do I look like a love song?”
Students: (´◔‸◔`)
Jin Zhuo returned to the dormitory and was interrogated by the other three.
“Dude, why didn’t you give us so many smiles when we sang with you?” Xie Chi stopped Jin Zhuo and asked.
“You guys?” Jin Zhuo smirked, his eyes scanning the three faces. He spoke with a mischievous tone, “Are you little girls too?”
“Brother Zhuo, why don’t you smile so brightly when other girls approach you?” Jiang Yinghuai teased.
Jin Zhuo: “Other girls aren’t called Qin Yingxia.”
Pei Lanhe continued, “Brother Zhuo, did your face crack from smiling?”
Jin Zhuo calmly took a sip of water and said unhurriedly, “You guys are talking so much because… you can’t get the grapes, so you say the grapes are sour.”
Xie Chi and Jiang Yinghuai were defeated, pacing around in circles.
Pei Lanhe, however, got straight to the point. He laughed and asked, “Brother Zhuo, did you get the grapes, so you say that?”
This time, it was Jin Zhuo’s turn to be defeated.
Xie Chi got excited, and Jiang Yinghuai was puzzled. “Brother Zhuo, didn’t you chase after Qin Yingxia?”
They pulled their chairs over to Jin Zhuo’s side. “Come on, tell us, how did you get rejected by Qin Yingxia?”
It was unexpected that Jin Zhuo would be rejected by a girl!
In the past, he was the one who rejected others.
“Tsk tsk tsk, you will have to pay for your actions sooner or later. Look at you, you fell for Qin Yingxia, didn’t you?” Xie Chi said with a hint of schadenfreude.
Jin Zhuo was annoyed. He pushed Xie Chi’s head down. “You’re the one who talks too much.”
Pei Lanhe stretched out his long legs, slid his chair over, and said, “Tell us, we’ll brainstorm some ideas for you.”
Jiang Yinghuai: “Yeah, Brother Zhuo! Our team has three military strategists to analyze the enemy’s situation!”
“Three military strategists?” Jin Zhuo couldn’t help but laugh. He leaned against the wardrobe, lazily said, “None of you have any dating experience.”
The three: …
Jin Zhuo lowered his gaze, becoming slightly serious. “I’m not sure if Qin Yingxia likes me…”
He tapped his fingers lightly on the table, his brows furrowed slightly. “She said the person she likes looks a lot like me.”
“She’s lying to me.”
