Su Ming saw her and immediately coughed. “You see me and don’t even say hello? So rude!”
Su Wan responded lightly, “ May I know who you are?”
“You—!” Su Ming’s eyes widened, but with people around, he held back his temper. “Su Xiaoqing raised you to be so ill-mannered!”
Su Wan smiled sweetly. “I wonder what your well-mannered daughter would say if she saw the person at your side.”
Hearing Su Qin’s name, the woman beside him looked a bit unhappy but said nothing.
Su Ming replied, “You think Qin Qin is like you? She wouldn’t mind me finding someone else. She’s even said that my happiness is what’s most important.”
Su Wan chuckled internally.
Su Qin might say that—so long as Su Ming always favored her. But if he didn’t, and this new woman had a say in things…well, that would change everything.
Too uninterested to continue, Su Wan nodded politely at them and walked away.
“Su Wan.”
Standing on the balcony, Su Wan heard a familiar voice call her from behind.
She turned to see Li Yang in a well-tailored gray suit, looking handsome but noticeably thinner, with more pronounced cheekbones.
She suddenly thought her eyesight must be failing.
His expression was attractive on the surface, but it lacked genuine spirit.
Li Yang raised his chin slightly, as he usually did, exuding coldness and pride. “I’d like to talk to you.”
“I don’t think we have anything to discuss,” Su Wan said politely with a nod. “I’ll be on my way.”
“Have you never considered getting back together?” Li Yang stepped closer, his expression softening. “These past days, I’ve thought about it. Honestly…I do have some feelings for you.”
She looked at him in surprise. “What are you saying?”
“I’m sorry for hurting you before, but you can trust that I’ll make it up to you from now on.”
“Come back to me.”
In his twenty-some years, this was the first time Li Yang believed he was humbling himself enough to plead with someone. Those familiar with him would be shocked to hear him go this far.
He hated himself for stooping like this, yet he couldn’t resist wanting to hold onto that beautiful image that haunted his thoughts day and night.
Su Wan, however, was amused by his arrogant request.
“And who do you think you are?”
Li Yang responded, “I know you still have feelings for me, and I know I hurt you—”
“Wan Wan.”
A deep voice interrupted them. A tall man with a refined, almost celestial appearance approached. His presence immediately outshone Li Yang.
In front of Li Yang, he walked up to Su Wan, wrapped his arm around her waist, tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, and gave Li Yang a cold glance.
His tone was calm, almost dismissive, as if addressing an insignificant insect.
“Sir, what exactly are you doing with my fiancée?”
Su Wan leaned into him, her voice cool. “Ignore him. He’s just delusional and living in a fantasy.”
With that, she took Wen Chen Yue’s hand and left.
They walked away without a backward glance, as if Li Yang didn’t exist.
Li Yang’s expression slowly fractured.
Whether it was Wen Chen Yue’s condescending demeanor, which mirrored the way Li Yang himself had once looked down on others, or the fact that he was casually holding Su Wan’s waist—it all filled him with rage and jealousy.
Or perhaps, it was because he finally realized that Su Wan didn’t seem to love him anymore.
Completely.
No longer in love.

As Su Wan turned the corner, leaving Li Yang’s line of sight, she finally exhaled a sigh of relief.
She released her savior’s hand. “Thanks for stepping in just now. You acted really well, very convincing.”
It almost made her feel like there was something real there.
But Wen Chen Yue’s hand didn’t let go. Instead, he pulled her slender waist closer. In the hallway, their bodies were suddenly pressed together, and under the dim, intimate lighting, his voice was low and husky.
“I wasn’t acting.”
