Villainess Supporting Role, Stand Up! [Quick Transmigration]: Chapter 2-1

The next day.

It was autumn, and the cool air was accompanied by continuous raindrops falling on the eaves. The rain formed a curtain of beads, turning the entire world into a hazy, dreamlike scene.

The crisp sound of the rain was pleasant to the ears. Opening the window, a moist breeze rushed in, quickly waking one up from lingering drowsiness.

Su Wan stood on the balcony, covering her mouth as she yawned, with traces of moisture in the corners of her eyes. The slight redness at the outer corners of her eyes, against her porcelain-white face, gave her an unexpected hint of allure.

—The person in question was completely unaware of this.

Only Li Yang, who had walked into the living room and saw this scene, paused momentarily as he rolled up his sleeves, before resuming his indifferent, aloof demeanor.

He knew Su Wan’s temperament fairly well.

Last night, she probably talked back to Aunt Wang. Yet today, she made an exception and got up early. She had tried all kinds of tactics, but ultimately, it was just to get his attention.

“Weren’t you trying to avoid me? Why get up so early?” Li Yang’s tone carried a hint of mockery.

“Getting up early is good for your health. Can’t I change my routine?”

Su Wan turned to size up her nominal husband.

The original Su Wan certainly had good taste.

Aside from Li Yang’s privileged family background and professional competence, his looks were also exceptional.

Unfortunately, he was as cold as a snow-covered mountain—distant and aloof. It was as though the frameless glasses he wore kept him separated from the world.

Who has the energy to care whether this high-altitude flower will bloom with vibrant colors once the snow melts?

At the very least, Su Wan didn’t have that kind of energy.

Li Yang met her unrestrained gaze, his handsome face showing no change in expression. He calmly finished fastening his cuffs and, with long strides, headed toward the dining room.

Su Wan leisurely followed behind.

Breakfast was quite lavish—small portions, exquisite, served on beautifully crafted white porcelain dishes that made one’s appetite surge.

Thick, creamy chicken congee, shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, beef soup dumplings…

Li Yang, being from the southern coastal region, had eaten light foods like dim sum for over twenty years.

The original Su Wan always followed his habits, trying her best to accommodate his lifestyle.

But not this time. Under Li Yang’s sidelong glance, Su Wan happily sipped her warm soybean milk, ate crispy, chewy fried dough sticks, and added some side dishes, her eyes narrowing with contentment.

Her expression looked as if she was enjoying a feast fit for royalty.

Li Yang, with little appetite, ate only a small amount. Watching her eat so heartily made his stomach feel emptier by the second.

Could it really be that delicious?

A comment nearly escaped his lips, but he swallowed it back.

He picked up a shrimp dumpling, chewing it slowly. The shrimp was tender, the taste delightful… but somehow, it now felt bland.

The food he usually enjoyed had, without him realizing, been overshadowed by the plain fried dough sticks.

He frowned, put down his chopsticks.

Aunt Wang hurried over and asked, “Sir, was the breakfast not to your liking today? Should I change it?”

“No.”

With a blank expression, Li Yang stood up. His tall figure loomed like a mountain, casting a heavy atmosphere over the room.

“I’m going to work.”

Normally, Su Wan would have been eager to see him off at the door, proudly announcing to the world that this man was her husband.

This time, she didn’t even lift her head, continuing to eat without interruption, treating him like a complete stranger.

She didn’t even bother to respond.

Sitting in the nanny van, Su Wan sipped warm water from her thermos. Her assistant, Xiao Zheng, sat beside her with a notebook, hurriedly explaining the scenes to her. The corners of his mouth were lined with sores, and dark circles hung under his eyes, suggesting he hadn’t slept well in days.

“The director has a bad temper, so please, for heaven’s sake, don’t clash with him. His wife controls a lot of gossip accounts!”

Su Wan suddenly understood. No wonder so many celebrities act high and mighty, yet the original Su Wan was the only one to be relentlessly criticized by the entire internet, making her life so difficult.
